Capítulo 39: Chapter 39 - Soul Sickle Spell - Thickening

Skalain shared the information about Aldar and Ally with Jareth, curious to know more about the Void Star organization. Jareth listened attentively and then began to provide additional details about their rival faction.

"Void Star," Jareth started, his voice tinged with a mix of caution and knowledge. "They are a secretive and powerful organization that delves into forbidden magics and dark arts. They are known for their expertise in soul manipulation and necromancy."

He paused for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts, before continuing. "Void Star operates from the Obsidian Keep, a fortress hidden deep within the treacherous Blackspire Mountains. They have their own hierarchy and their own set of objectives, often conflicting with those of the Tower of the Black Sun."

Jareth's expression grew more serious as he explained further. "The members of Void Star are ruthless and ambitious. They seek to harness the power of the Void, the soul, and the chaotic energy that lies beyond our realm. They believe that by tapping into this forbidden force, they can achieve unimaginable power and reshape the world according to their will."

Skalain nodded. "It seems like Aldar and Ally are not as simple and dangerous as they look." Skalain thought about and understood Jareth's perspective.

It made sense that contacting Aldar and Ally first would be a wise move, considering their potential knowledge and insights into the investigation. Skalain trusted Jareth's judgment and respected his decision to maintain a distance from the two mages.

"Understood," Skalain replied.

"He is understanding the situation better than I thought. It seems like they do not want to provoke each other at this point in time, and this shows me that this man named Elliot was really important."

Skalain thought as Jareth started speaking.

Jareth nodded in agreement. "Excellent. Keep me informed of any progress or significant findings. Remember, our primary objective is to apprehend the necromancer responsible for Elliot Ken's death."

Skalain acknowledged Jareth's words, a sense of purpose welling up within him. He was determined to bring justice to Elliot Ken and uncover the truth behind his murder. Working with Aldar and Ally seemed like a promising path towards achieving that goal.

As Skalain bid farewell to Jareth, he felt renewed and better. The investigation had taken an unexpected turn, but with the support of Jareth and the potential collaboration with Aldar and Ally, Skalain believed they had a better chance of succeeding.

Without too much delay, Skalain met with Aldar and Ally and sat down at a bar with them to drink beer and start telling them information.

Skalain sat down with Aldar and Ally, sharing the information he had gathered about the corpse of Elliot Ken. As he relayed the details, Aldar listened attentively, his expression serious and contemplative.

After some time, Ally turned to Aldar and nodded.

"I think you know what I mean, Aldar; from the details, it can be that kind of a spell."

Aldar thought a little and rubbed his chin as he started to speak.

"So, you suspect that the murderer used a spell called 'Soul Sickle'?" Aldar interjected, his voice thoughtful. "That would explain the peculiar damage inflicted on the soul of the victim."

Ally nodded in agreement, acknowledging Aldar's insight. "Indeed, based on the evidence, it seems highly likely that the perpetrator employed a similar ability, such as soul sickle." The distinct marks on Elliot Ken's soul indicate a deliberate and targeted attack."

Skalain asked.

"What kind of spell is the Soul Sickle?"

Aldar leaned forward, his eyes shining with knowledge. "Soul Sickle is a dangerous spell, capable of inflicting severe harm to the essence of a person. It is a close-combat ability that allows the user to channel dark energy and strike at the very core of their opponent's soul. It is highly forbidden and associated with necromantic practices."

Skalain absorbed the information, his mind racing with the implications of such an ability being used in the murder.

Ally, who had been listening intently, chimed in. "If the murderer is indeed skilled in Soul Sickle or a similar ability, it suggests a level of proficiency in forbidden arts. This leads us to believe that they might have ties to Void Star, the dark mage organization known for their expertise in soul magic or void magic."

Skalain's eyes widened at the mention of Void Star, realizing the potential connection between the murder and the organization. He knew that delving deeper into the investigation would require caution and strategic planning.

"I did not expect them to tell me something like this. Basically, they are telling us that the murderer is most likely a member of Void Star or a similar organization."

"Thank you, Aldar and Ally, for sharing your knowledge," Skalain said, his voice filled with determination. "With your expertise and insights, we have a better chance of tracking down the perpetrator and bringing them to justice."

Aldar and Ally exchanged a glance before nodding in agreement. "We are here to support you, Skalain," Aldar affirmed.

Skalain felt a sense of reassurance.

"I am not going to trust them anyway. They have too much to lose in this deal if it goes wrong."

"What if the murderer is indeed a member of Void Star and they kill me to hide it?"

"Anything can happen."
