[Control]: Any creature that looks into your eyes when this ability is active will be under your control. This ability takes energy equivalent to the mental strength of your opponent, and once in control of a target, after three hours, control will need to be reapplied.]
[Destruction]: Upon activation, anything or anyone looked at will quickly begin disintegrating. The amount of energy needed for the full disintegration of a living creature is dependent on its physical strength and energy. This ability can destroy the soul with enough power. Animals, structures, plants, higher-dimensional entities, and even concepts shall know the meaning of the end.]
[(Lowest) All-Sight]: Once this ability is activated, you'll have the ability to see the true form of higher-dimensional entities. Illusions of lesser dimensions no longer fool you, and any eldritch creature hiding themselves will be seen through. Higher dimensions can be seen, and even the dead on the mortal plane will be visible. (Consideration is advised with this ability, as eldritch entities know when they have been seen through. The Outer Gods in their avatars will have their true bodies shown. At the highest levels, this ability can lead you to the ultimate gate.)]
The choice of abilities was way better than with the goblin. It must be due to the way my energy is quantified.
Was 150 a lot? Was 300 a lot? I didn't know what to base it on. If one was enough to slightly enhance your strength, when that singular point was multiplied by 300, then I could see how much of a massive difference that could be.
More experimentation would be needed.
My choice of abilities was obvious. The first two were amazing, with the second being an absolute death ray. But it was the last choice that stuck with me.
It was the lowest of the lows in terms of its value when compared to whatever the true ability might be. The name was All-Sight, and just because of that, I could guess it meant omniscience.
Just the thought of omniscience made me extremely excited. If this was the lowest and abilities could be upgraded, then could I truly get omniscience or grant it?
If this ability were to be put on a list from F to EX and then rated, I would have to rate it a D+.
It was just as good as the others—better than anything the goblin got—but only needed double the energy.
This could be considered the bottom of the barrel if I upgraded my intelligence and arcane stats. Was All-Sight truly in my grasp? I don't think so, but I think it may be within my vision.
With this, I have at least answered a question I had. Would I die if I ran out of energy? No. I could assume that if I was "killed" with zero energy, then I would actually die.
As long as I had energy at the time of my "death" and my entire body wasn't destroyed, then I would survive.
I would definitely be cutting off one of my heads and hiding it, just in case.
Re-focusing on Seiya, who was now looking around, taking in everything.
"What is it that you see?" I said as I brought my middle head down to his level.
"I don't know," Seiya said with a bit of confusion and wonder. "I see people and creatures walking around. All of them seem to be avoiding us for some reason, at least avoiding you. I see people and animals walking past us, but as I think they're going to bump into us, they just walk through us."
"You can see the dead and past wondering around us? Maybe even the future?" My right head said as a malevolent grin slowly crept onto its face.
"Be sure of yourself when you use such an ability; being only third-dimensional but able to see through the truth of the universe may bring trouble to your mind." My left head said as all of my heads were positioned around Seiya.
Seiya nodded, his eyes returning back to normal.
Over the course of a few hours, I began blessing all the goblins I could with the [Survival] blessing I had seen the first goblin get.
If their limbs are chopped off, then that limb will turn into a monster. I believe it is similar to the transformation that the brother moons have with the markers.
Seiya did buy another goblin to replace the one that exploded, and I eventually figured out how they were getting their water. There was a well in a hidden corner beside the near-ruined castle.
I had Seiya remove the gunk and organs from my body. Eventually, this brings us to where we are now.
Seiya had wanted to use 50 sacrificial points to summon a "life-soul eater" because the goblins weren't cutting it.
They were fine, but they weren't really good enough for the wilderness. Most of them would be torn to shreds by a bear or group of wolves, and because of that, Seiya and I came to the decision that goblins would be part of the "workforce."
They would process everything but wouldn't do any of the fighting, even if they were warriors. Of course, goblins could volunteer to fight, but when you're fighting bears daily, I don't think you would want to join the assault team.
Seiya looked at me for confirmation of the summoning, and I nodded all three of my heads. Getting my acknowledgment, Seiya began moving his hand.
The second his hand stopped moving, a black pool of unknown liquid formed on the ground and began spreading.
Seiya took multiple steps back as the liquid quickly tried to reach him. It looked like a liquid version of Origin Darkness; I could be mistaken, but it was definitely close.
The liquid eventually stopped spreading and created a thin layer on top of the ground. From that liquid, something tried to claw its way out.
As it pulled itself from the liquid like a newborn lizard trying to escape the egg, I was pleasantly surprised.
It was all black in color—the most pitch-black I've ever seen. It stood around my height without counting my wingspan.
Its head was triangular, with its head dotted with large white holes. There were no eyes; the five white holes on its head seemed to exude a bright light.
It had two draconic legs and two wings; it was a wyvern. The tail turned into a thin stinger like a stingray, and its face held jagged, misshapen sharp teeth.
Once it was finally "born," all the black liquid on and around it began receding quickly, eventually disappearing into nothing.
Walking up to this creature, I felt a connection to it, even though it was small. I made sure to get into its personal space to test how it would react.
Unlike how I expected, it acted like an obedient dog and tried its best not to be bothered by the probing.
"Tell me what abilities this thing has."
"It's truly an obedient dog; how amusing!"
"This is a newborn. It was born only a couple of seconds ago, yet it was summoned to this plane of existence."
Seiya didn't have a way to view the statuses of creatures, and so I had to rely on my left head for information.
"The life-soul eaters get their name from the single ability they inherited from their spawner. They have the ability to suck the life force and soul from their victims and can add that energy to themselves. The child in front of us was just born. However, it is what I would consider an anomaly. Its size is abnormally large."
This was truly something! I could feel a grin forming on my face. If what was said was true, I may have found a way to gain a certain resistance.
"You, use that ability on me."
The young soul-eater stood motionless for a moment. It knew what I wanted but didn't want to try. Be it due to fear or loyalty, my word should be law.
So, I stared at it, my gaze burning into each of its completely white eyes.
"I don't remember telling you to do nothing."
My middle head snaked its way above the head of the creature, turning my head sideways, a slight amount to look downward at the disobedient child.
"My word is law, disobedience is death, and failure of such an easy task is disgraceful."
My right head appeared to the left side of the creature's head. The tone of its voice was venomously sweet as if it were talking to a loved one.
"Do not question. Act on every task given. Even if I ask for my own death, you must provide it."
My left head, snaking to the right side of the child's head, spoke absolutes into its sound receptors.
All three of my heads were only inches away from the face of the soul-eater. Only for an instant later, all three had pulled back.
"""Show me your power,"" All three heads said at once.
I was a few feet away from the child when it opened its mouth. It looked as if it were inhaling, yet its body wasn't taking in air.
That's when I felt it—a drain on my energy. It wasn't a massive amount. Maybe one per second.
With my three heads observing, I was able to focus and see the energy being drained from my body. A faint trail was being pulled into the jaws of the soul-eater.
While the pull of energy was impossibly weak, I could theorize that it was due to a combination of it being a child, my own abilities, and the way its ability worked.
While I needed physical contact and drained quickly, the Life Soul-Eater species only needed to be in your vicinity. Like a vacuum cleaner, they would siphon from a distance.
"Lower the output."
I had been heard and listened to this time. The amount of energy taken from me lessened, and now I felt the pull on myself being many times less than that of gravity.
I could regenerate faster than I was losing at this point.
"Keep doing this for as long as possible."
I sat down as I looked skyward. When night comes, and the undead is roaming, I will be there to grow in strength. Until then, I must always be doing something and growing in resilience.
Hopefully, this won't take too long. This process was sure to be slow as I didn't have the maximum output or massive amounts of energy to drain.
'The things I do for power...'
...
(A/N: Felt like uploading even though college is killing me. Probably going to drop some Eldritch May Cry later. I still want to get a couple more chapters of this out before it happens.)
