Time could change the land. Barren land in Summer would be able to grow crops in Spring.
Time could change the people. They grew up through time. Bodies became bigger, minds became more mature.
Time could change the relationship. No more war, no more plan to seize other territory owned by other kingdoms.
Fourteen years had passed, and so many things changed because of the power of the time. Nothing lasted forever in this world, and the word forever itself didn't really exist.
There would be always change in any aspect, and people had to accept the change whether they liked it or not.
No one knew who finally managed to change the human's perspective about the war and the greed of conquering other kingdoms, but all kingdoms were living in harmony now. They didn't want to initiate a war just to seize others' territory, and the people could live in peace.
The kings of each kingdom had good relations with each other, and there was no grudge in their hearts anymore. Now people could live without worry. They could smile and laugh without fear of war that would threaten their lives.
The world was peaceful once again, but even if the fish was delicious to eat, they should be careful of the fishbone. And the real fishbone in this life was the Wemor Kingdom. In the period of fourteen years, Wemor managed to conquer several small kingdoms including Shovalon.
Even if other kingdoms had agreed to live in peace, Wemor still dared to cause trouble here and there, ignoring warnings from other kingdoms.
The witches of Wemor now lived in Shovalon, and even if Shovalon was once a beautiful kingdom capable of making other kingdoms envious, the region of Shovalon now turned into another slum of Wemor.
The witches of Wemor just couldn't maintain the glory of Shovalon, and the region turned into another rats house because of the Wemorians.
Witches were still a dangerous threat to peaceful life, and that concerned one of the greatest kingdoms in the world, Breviel.
Breviel was a large kingdom famous for its weapons industry. In contrast to Shovalon, which relied heavily on agricultural activities because it had fertile soil with a favorable climate, Breviel chose to focus more on the industry.
The kingdom had some mines that could support industrial activity, and they ended up becoming one of the strongest kingdoms in the world.
Breviel was big and strong, but they were still bothered by the existence of Wemor. The witches didn't agree to maintain peacefulness in the world, and those evil practitioners were able to cause chaos anytime they wanted.
The king of Breviel, Karl, gathered all the officials of Breviel in the hall of the palace.
"I know that it will not be easy, but I want to slaughter all the witches of Wemor. They are evil practitioners, and if we don't do something to end their glory, maybe they will target Breviel next," Karl spoke sternly from his throne.
King Karl was a strict and perfectionist person, and he was also a person who was always on guard against any danger in the future. He did not want to risk the safety of his people and wanted to eliminate the threat as soon as possible.
All of the officials in Breviel, including the queen and the princes, could only listen to his statement solemnly. They all knew how dangerous the witches were, but they also knew that it was risky.
"I can understand your concern, Your Majesty," Lambert, Minister of Defense, responded to the king's words. "However, I'm not sure if we will be able to defeat them even if we use our strongest weapons. They are all evil, and they definitely have a lot of tricks up their sleeves."
What the minister just said made sense, and King Karl nodded his head in understanding. "I think the most important thing is not the weapons, but it's the strategy. Shovalon and other kingdoms were defeated so easily by those witches not because they didn't have weapons, but they didn't have good strategies to face the witches. I'm sure we can defeat them if we can provide a good strategy."
It was easy to say, but making a good strategy was not an easy thing even for the Minister of Defense. In the end, he just fell quiet and didn't counter the king's words again.
Getting no response from the Minister of Defense, the king was about to say something, but someone's voice halted his movement.
"If Your Majesty wants to give me a chance, I'd like to lead our troops to attack the witches in Shovalon. I'm sure I will be able to kill all the witches."
It was the prince's voice. Breviel had two princes, and the oldest prince was the Crown Prince of the kingdom. The one who just voiced his idea was the youngest prince of Breviel. It was Prince Reigen.
Prince Reigen looked like a tyrant, and he was indeed a tyrant. Short black hair and a pair of golden eyes, and his appearance alone were enough to intimidate anyone who came face to face with him. Even the Crown Prince's look wasn't that intimidating compared to the youngest prince's.
King Karl always knew that his youngest son was such an arrogant person who was so full of himself, and he wasn't surprised when he heard such confidence coming from the young man.
"You're still young, Reigen. And you don't even have the experience of fighting witches. You'd better not take any risks," King Karl firmly opposed his son's idea.
Prince Reigen was indeed an inexperienced prince. He was 28-year-old this year, and his parents were very overprotective toward him and didn't let him experience any real battle so far.
However, the young prince did not budge and still wore an arrogant expression on his handsome face.
"Please give me one chance, Your Majesty. I've studied the witches for so many years, and I know one way to defeat them all."
