In the Count's manor.

"Are you stepping back from the position?" Asked Olivia.

She had guessed that they had come to force Alex to return, but he was still sitting with them and smiling.

Ethan stared at his friend with confusion too. Alex was never to admit defeat. He had taken drastic steps to reach this position.

It was an open secret that the only way for a prince  to survive is.. Power! Alex had lost the favor of his father. His mother was long gone. If he would leave his position, it was only a matter of time when she was trapped in a false case and announced as traitor.

It would take much time to dispose of him. Ethan's jaws tightened thinking about their cruel game but the man in question sat with ease.

"We have time to think about it.  I am still performing all my duties." He pointed at the mountain of files in the room.
