Capítulo 53: A Nice Little Spar

Kai did his best to remember what caused the other students to fail as Kito took his stance. He instantly knew it would be no use, as the stance was infinitely more refined than Kai's sparring partner.

And unlike against the dragon, Kai knew he couldn't use his corruption fire. The class was made to refine the students' martial arts skills, so obviously, that would be the only thing allowed.

So, for now, Kai knew he would be beaten. The only thing he could do to make the situation better was to outlast his peers.

So, Kai reminded himself of their failures as he pushed his back leg a little forward and tilted his abdomen forward, resulting in better balance. 

In martial arts, small changes can create a big difference.

However, that's only if the 2 fighters are comparable. When someone who has never really practiced martial arts fights against someone who is far beyond what could be called a master, there would be no small change Kai could do that would give him a chance.
