"This is not how I dreamed my wedding to be. But it's okay, I will manage! Well, I have to considering the fact that it is I who invited this problem in my life." ~ Dr. Sang Tian
»»——————————««
Even with the doors closed, Sang Tian could faintly hear the soft romantic music playing in the background. Fingers tightening on the flower bouquet, Sang Tian took in several deep breaths preparing herself for the path that she had half decided and was half coerced to walk on.
Sang Tian was dressed in an exquisite, glistening romantic ball gown; a stunning piece with subtle details. The gown had a structured strapless scoop neckline leading to a mid-scoop back. It had multiple layers of sparkle tulle giving it a unique, subtle shine, and the top layer of the fabric featured three-dimensional floral appliques that took the beauty of the gown up another level.
Giving the gown a classic feel were the matching floral belt and the buttons along the back of the gown. Her hair was pulled up in a loose, braided bun showing off the beautiful diamond and pearl earrings that she wore. A delicate tiara sat atop her head pinned to the plain, tulle fabric veil that she wore to complete the bridal look.
It was perfect for a dreamy, fairytale wedding that Sang Tian had once envisioned for herself.
But this was not it.
This was no fairytale but a harsh reality that she had no choice but to live in.
"It's okay if you want to run away." she heard her father say, "I am in full support of it! Nobody will blame you, I promise. You can run and go on some vacation of sorts." that earned a bout of nervous laughter from Sang Tian, "I am not going to run away, Dad." she spoke firmly but it lacked a certain level of conviction.
Her father shook his head in disappointment, hiding away his misty eyes from her. Sang Tian knew he was getting emotional, it was his only daughter's wedding after all. Today he was giving away his precious daughter to another man, his tears were a testament to the love that he held in his heart for his little girl.
Without saying another word, her father held out his arm for her to hold on. Sang Tian hooked her arm with his and took another deep breath as the massive doors to the wedding hall opened and before her was the aisle leading up to the center stage where stood the man she was going to marry.
With every step that Sang Tian took forward, she was reminded of the events leading her up to this point in life. Never had she imagined that she would be getting married like this.
Everything was perfect today, the décor, the venue, the seating arrangement, the food, the outfits, and all the other things. Everything was according to her tastes and preferences, exactly what she had envisioned for herself.
The only thing that did not fit in her perfect wedding was the groom himself.
Fang Haoran
The man was a problem that entered her life by fate's choice. She had not asked for it but it was thrown at her like every other problem in her life. Their meeting was a pure coincidence but him staying was an absolute punishment.
All because of a single, stupid mistake that she committed.
She was the one who let him in her life and now he inadvertently handed him the remote control of her life. If things weren't so damn complex, she would not have married him. But what and who can stand against fate? This was her fate and Sang Tian had accepted it albeit grudgingly.
This is karma perhaps; the repercussions of her past actions.
But there was no point dwelling in the past now. What's done is done and the only thing that she could now was to get married to this man, the bane of her existence.
"Do you, Sang Tian, take this man Fang Haoran to be your lawfully wedded husband?" asked the wedding officiant.
"I do." replied Sang Tian and added a 'not' in her mind.
"Do you, Fang Haoran, take this woman Sang Tian to be your lawfully wedded wife?" asked the wedding officiant.
"I do." responded Fang Haoran, his lips curved in that stupid, self-satisfied smile that she had become all too familiar with.
"You may now kiss the bride!" cheer erupted among the guests at the wedding at the wedding officiant's announcement.
Fang Haoran leaned closer to kiss her on the lips and Sang Tian resisted the urge to smack his face with the bouquet that she held onto. He gave a hesitant peck first before pulling back with annoyance shining in his eyes.
Sang Tian smirked over the little victory but was soon rendered speechless and Fang Haoran leaned in again and captured her lips in a gentle but firm open-mouthed kiss causing her eyes to widen like saucers.
She had to hold onto his shoulders for support to avoid stumbling and falling on the stage floor because of the intensity of their first kiss. It almost felt like how they show in the movies and talk about in the romance novels.
His hands felt hot on her back and his lips soft and tender over hers. Sang Tian's hands moved from his shoulders to his chest, clutching the lapels of his suit jacket as Fang Haoran continued to kiss her. Her lips moved along his in a passionate rhythm.
The sound of cheers, hooting, and laughter seemed dull in comparison to the sound of her heartbeat and of their lips smacking as they continued to kiss. She didn't know how long it lasted considering she was too focused on a kiss that she didn't want to focus on anything else.
Damn, that was explosive!
Oh, my God!
How was she going to survive the next two years with this man?
'I am doomed!' thought Sang Tian.
This marks the beginning of a new love story. This is going to sweeter and a lot, like a lot, romantic and the right amount of fluff.
