"I love you." The words fell out of my mouth in a spurt of panic. I had no clue why I said it at that moment, but there was no taking it back now. The moment that I said them though, Jared let the straw fall away from his lips, the sipping of the drink forgotten in the moment.

"Really?" He grinned at me. There was a strange tone in his voice as he sat the cup down next to him on the table. "You've never said that to me before." There was nothing angry, upset, or negative in his face or tone at all. 

"W..w..well, I wanted to. I..I just didn't know how to say it now. I know that this wasn't the ideal time for that either, but I wanted to tell you, to let you know that before you had to leave." 

"Leave?" He looked worried now, almost scared. "You're kicking me out?" 

"N..no!" I shook my head. "B..but now that the trouble is over, I..I thought that you wanted to move back to your dorm."
