At last, an extra long and massive roller chain was let down. And upon seeing this chain, Virtya's head throbbed because fabricating this chain with this olden age's technology was almost impossible. Each component of the chain like the outer and upper plates, bearing pin, bush and the rollers, each one of them was nearly impossible to fabricate. There was only one blacksmith in the blacksmithing guild that could fabricate these components as the other blacksmiths were helpless and inept which made the production to take a longer time and money just to come up with this single massive roller chain. Fortunately, with the assistance of other experienced blacksmiths in the blacksmithing guild, they took an entire week to finish fabricating each component of the chain and assembling the parts to make the whole chain. This chain was just like that of a bicycle roller chain in his past life and Virtya was planning to use to fit this roller chain onto the sprocket so that the rotational motion would be transported to another sprocket that would be installed at the periphery of the cement plant which was just above the waterfall.
One should know that the steel turbine blade itself had a diameter of four metres while the sprocket which had a thick toothed rim and a wide disk like the spur gear had a diameter of 1 metre thus one could imagine the size of this roller chain that would be put on the sprocket.
Make no mistake, Virtya made sure to pluck out the unneeded weight from the massive steel turbine blade and the spur gear thus, their current weight would not make the turbine inefficient. However, by doing so, Virtya had exposed these fundamental components to wear and tear because they were the components that would be working in water which would faster the rusting process. Definitely, this will force Virtya to put aside some money for maintenance of the steel turbine blade and the sprocket and if a replacement was needed, the money obtained from the cement plant would have to cater for that.
"This is a mechanism that I call the turbine, it will ensure the rotational motion of the movable machines of the cement plant like the grinding plates of the Miller and the progress of the production line."As Virtya answered the confused individuals, he followed behind the workers who were carring the components of the whole turbine towards the warehouse. He had his horse by his side on which his sister was sitting on. His guards also followed him.
Virtya was not planning to generate electricity because he didn't have the generator to convert the kinetic energy into a usable electricity, he only wanted to use the turbine to ensure the movement of the production line.
Virtya had declared to ensure that this mechanism was up and running on this day
The workers were still moving the components of the steel turbine blade and it needed several individuals to carry each component because they were huge and heavy, not to mention that the terrain was difficult to traverse.
Their legs logded into the mud and the peeving buzzing of insects could be heard when the workers stepped on the marshy surfaces which was the habitation of these insects.
There were worms in the muddy terrain but the workers were indifferent with all these because of the knights that were ensuring that everything moved forward without a hindrance or a hitch.
"It's about time." Virtya told Tanya and then they climbed onto their horses and moved towards the warehouse that was close to the waterfall. Virtya was going to install the steel turbine over the waterfall on this day, he was adamant about finishing this stage of the cement plant on this day.
The horses were unhindered by the marshy terrain as they run menacingly towards the warehouse therefore leaving behind hoof tracks on their way, but these tracks were quickly deformed and erased by the wetness of the mud.
"King Virtya is going to install that thing by himself. I wonder what it could do? I can't wait to see how it will help us in this unknown project."
"This!"
"This is something that I have never seen or even though that I will stand a chance to see when I am still living. Virtya has made so many weird stuff today but I will not stop to draw all that I see on this piece of paper. Maybe, this will turn out to be something that is even much better than the plough. Hahaha! I can't wait to be rewarded handsomely when I go back home in Litkesh. I hope this will be something better."
