Besides Nash and CXYZ Barian Hope, six silhouettes could be seen. Each of them was a fallen comrade.
For this one duel, the Seven Barian Emperors have returned to fight for the future of the Barian World.
Many viewers cried out in surprise at the sight of the seven emperors who are still fighting for the fate of their world.
In the world of ZEXAL, the Barian Emperors themselves are moved at the sight of their other selves fighting alongside their leader. Each of them channeled their fighting spirit, hoping to help their other-selves secure victory.
Barian Hope's ATK is equal to 1000 times the number of XYZ material it has.
Barian Hope: [7000 ATK]
When Nash summoned Barian Hope though, Yuma activated the trap card Overlay Assistance to draw as many cards as Barian Hope has XYZ material allowing him to draw seven cards.
Nash then reveals that for each of Barian Hope's XYZ materials, he can pay 400 LP or detach a material to activate the effect of one of its materials. The restriction though is that he can only use that material's effect only once per turn.
So Yuma has to fight against all Seven Barian Emperors at the same time!
Nash pays 400 LP to use Neo Tachyon Dragon's effect and stop all other card effects other than the ones he chooses.
Nash: [3100 LP]
By paying 400 LP, Nash activates the effect of Archfiend Seraph to reduce Utopia's ATK to 0.
Nash: [2700 LP]
Pay 400 LP, Ragnafinity's effect activates and deals damage to Yuma equal to the difference in Uopia's ATK. With Neo Tachyon Dragon's effect keeping the field on lock, Yuma is in danger of losing!
Nash: [2300 LP]
Yuma activates the effect of the continuous trap card Ant Barrer from his hand. The trap negates Barian Hope's effect and switches Utopia to defense mode. Using it, he can then put a lock on Barian Hope's attacks.
Nash however paid 400 LP to activate Giant Red Hand's effect, negating the effect of all other face-up cards on the field so that Barian Hope can attack.
Nash: [1900 LP]
Comet Cestus' effect is then activated, destroying Utopia.
Nash: [1500 LP]
Nash declares an attack, prompting Yuma to special summon Gagaga Guardian from his hand in defense mode.
Gagaga Guardian: [2000 DEF]
Pay 400 LP!
Nash: [1100 LP]
Umbral Horror Masquerade's effect activates, negating Gagaga Guardian's effect and discarding a card from Yuma's hand. It then halves Yuma's LP in half.
Yuma: [1200LP]
What a wonderful combination! The Seven Barian Emperors in one monster were able to overwhelm Yuma through a combination of all kinds of effects.
When Yuma was forced to discard though, he discarded Rainbow Kuriboh, a monster that can special summon itself from the graveyard to protect its master.
Guess it is true in every kind of world. When in doubt, trust in Kuriboh.
In the world of DM, a certain King of Games rubbed his head at the sight.
With his battle phase over, Nash activates the spell card Chaos Tempest Draw destroying all spell and trap cards on the field to draw a card for each of them drawing Nash three new cards. He immediately set them and ended his turn.
With the onslaught over, Astral wondered why Nash didn't use any of Barian Hope's XYZ materials. Yuma knew why though. Each of them contained the souls of the other Barian Emperors and Nash wanted to fight this battle with them by his side.
All of the viewers of the myriad worlds respected Nash for his decision with not a few of them shedding some manly tears of respect.
With respectable people like the Barian Emperors, how could you bring yourself to destroy them?
Pushed to a corner, Yuma and Astral used a power the viewers hadn't seen yet.
Overlay! {Astral} {=} and {Yuma}
Xyz Change! ZEXAL!
A golden Yuma showed up on the field, provoking a burst of energy from Nash. Two intense pressures fought for dominance as the duel came to a standstill.
In front of their screens, (ZEXAL) Yuma and Shark wore intense looks of concentration on their faces. They didn't have time to wonder about the changes in the duel they couldn't understand yet. They just wanted to see who will be the winner.
As the force of the duel grew more intense, the movement between worlds increased to an unbelievable level. In order to stop these worlds from coming closer, Yuma's father and Tron used all their power to keep them at bay.
This surprised the present-day (ZEXAL) Tsukumo and Arclight families who didn't expect to see a sight like this.
The duel must continue though as Yuma performed a Shining Draw. Yuma then activated Overlay Reborn, by discarding a level 4 or lower monster he is then allowed to revive the Rank 4 Utopia in his graveyard.
By the effect of Overlay Reborn, Utopia was supposed to steal four of Barian Hope's XYZ materials but Nash activated the trap card Overlay Menace. Overlay Menace will negate that effect of Overlay Reborn, draw a card, and give Nash 500 LP for each of Barian Hope's XYZ materials.
Nash: [4600 LP]
Yuma then activated the spell card Rank-Up-Magic - Astral Force to use and rank up Utopia on Yuma's side of the field by one or two ranks by using Utopia as XYZ material.
Rank Up Xyz Change!
Xyz Summon Rank 6 Number 39 Utopia the Lightning
Utopia The Lightning: [3000 ATK]
Utopia The Lightning attacks Barian Hope, using an XYZ material to reduce Barian Hope's ATK to 0. To protect Barian Hope, Nash activated the trap card Xyz Trip to end the battle phase. The price though is Utopia The Lightning's ATK will be taken out of Nash's LP.
Nash: [4600 LP] - [1600 LP]
The act moved Yuma a little and he set three cards before ending his turn.
Nash counter-attacked with Barian Hope, forcing Yuma to increase Utopia The Lightning's ATK using Weaker Overlay. Nash then paid 400 LP to activate Ragnafinity's effect to try and reduce Yuma's LP to 0.
Nash: [1200 LP]
Since Yuma would take effect damage, he activated the trap card Damage Reactor to negate it and increase Utopia The Lightning's ATK to 8000. With 8000 ATK, Barian Hope was destroyed.
Nash was grief-stricken seeing the culmination of the Barian Emperors destroyed but he cannot give up now.
Using the effect of the trap card Reincarnation of the Seven Emperors, Nash removed Barian Hope and its XYZ materials from the game making the damage he takes 0. He then special summoned from his extra deck the Rank 3 XYZ monster Black Ray Lancer.
Black Ray Lancer: [2100 ATK]
Due to the effect of the Reincarnation of the Seven Emperors, Nash then inflicts damage to Yuma equal to Black Ray Lancer's ATK. In order to protect his LP, Yuma used the last effect of Utopia The Lightning to remove itself from the game and special summon the Rank 4 Number 39 Utopia from his graveyard. When Utopia is summoned this way, he gains LP equal to half of Utopia's ATK.
Yuma: [1200 LP] - [2450 LP]
Yuma's Zexal form takes the blow of Black Ray Lancer's lance and comes undone, resulting in Yuma and Astral being separated.
Yuma: [350 LP]
Worn out, Nash sets a card and kneels on the ground as his Barian form comes undone.
Why? Some viewers wondered why these two had to fight as hard as they are right now. In a different world, the two would've been great friends and teammates but now they are fighting beyond their breaking point.
The present-day (ZEXAL) Yuma and Shark didn't think so though. If it could be stopped, the duel wouldn't have reached this point.
Viewers wouldn't be able to guess just based on the first half of the duel but the two opponents were long-time friends and comrades who've fought with and against each other plenty of times in the past. Seeing Black Ray Lancer and Utopia on the field together just helps bring back memories of the past.
If things could end by people just understanding one another and being friends, this duel would've ended before it started. Unfortunately, the fate of both worlds lies in the balance and Nash had too many people relying on him to just give up. Behind Nash, the figures of all those he cares about can be seen giving him moral support.
"Open the door and you will obtain a new power," a mysterious door once said to Yuma. "If you do, however, the price of doing so will be that you will lose will lose what is most important to you."
That was the day that Yuma met Astral and now that prophecy seems to be coming true.
"Is this the price I paid for opening that door?" (ZEXAL) Yuma muttered, holding his key tightly in his hand.
Starting his turn, Yuma attacks Black Ray Lancer with Utopia triggering the monster effect of Friller Rabca in Nash's graveyard. By removing it from the game, Uopia's attack is negated and loses 500 ATK. Yuma sets a card and ends his turn.
Utopia: [2000 ATK]
Nash changes back into his Barian form before starting his turn and activating the spell card Xyz Treasure. Drawing two cards since there are two XYZ monsters, he then special summons level 3 Big Jaws since he activated a spell card this turn. Nash normal summons level 3 Skull Kraken and uses it to overlay.
Overlay! Level {3} Skull Kraken {=} and Level {3} Big Jaws
Xyz Summon! Rank 3 Submersible Carrier Aero Shark!
Aero Shark: [1900 ATK]
Using one of its XYZ materials, Nash attempts to reduce Yuma's LP to 0 by inflicting 400 points of damage. Yuma was ready though with the trap card Damage Takeover, reducing the effect damage to 0 but the blast still sends him flying back.
Damage Takeover then becomes one of Utopia's XYZ materials at the cost of it losing 400 ATK.
Utopia: [1600 ATK]
Black Ray Lancer prepares to end things by attacking Utopia but Utopia uses its last XYZ material to negate the attack. Aero Shark attacks Utopia, unable to destroy the Number monster but still dealing damage. Nash sets a card and ends his turn.
Yuma: [350 LP] - [50 LP]
Yuma's turn comes around and he knows that there is no way for both sides to end things peacefully like he was wanting when the duel began but Tori and all of the friends he lost along the way want him to keep fighting.
Forming into Zexal once again, Yuma performs a Shining Draw. He summons ZW - Sylphid Wing equipping it to Utopia, giving Utopia 800 ATK.
Utopia: [2400 ATK]
Utopia attacks Aero Shark causing Nash to activate the trap card Rebirth of the Seven Emperors. By releasing his XYZ monsters, Nash summons back to the field his CXYZ Barian Hope that was removed from the game. He then attaches three of his banished monsters to it as XYZ material at the cost of being unable to use them to activate effects.
Since Nash special summoned an XYZ monster, the effect of Sylphid Wing activates and Utopia gains 1600 ATK.
Utopia: [4000 ATK]
Utopia attacks Barian Hope forcing Nash to use his last trap card Draw of Fate.
Utopia's attack is negated and both players draw a card. Now if either of the players does not use the card they draw this turn, they lose the game.
What?! Settling things with one draw?!
For ordinary duelists, it is a question of whether the card will be usable but after seeing Yugi vs Atem, they know that the real question is what card will Yuma and Nash decide to stake the result of the duel on?
For a duelist of this caliber, fate bends to your will and not the reverse.
Final Draw! "Barian Chaos Draw!" "Shining Draw!"
Yuma activates the spell card Double Up Chance, allowing his Utopia to double its ATK and attack again.
Utopia: [8000 ATK]
However, when Yuma declares his attack, he remembers what the door said and undoes his Zexal transformation. He knew if he declared that attack, he would cease to be Yuma. That is losing what is most important to him.
If he wants to do his best for the two worlds, it shouldn't be at the cost of what he values most.
Yuma uses the effect of Sylphid Wing, turning it from an equipped spell card into one of Utopia's XYZ materials. He then uses that XYZ material to negate Utopia's attack.
You are stopping your own attack?!
The viewers are blown away again. Who would've predicted Yuma's bipolar disorder to act up so much in this one duel?
Unfortunately, they aren't Yuma and they won't understand how he will keep the wheels of the duel turning until he finds an answer that everyone will agree on.
What he didn't expect was the card Nash drew though.
The spell card Glory of the Seven Emperors attaches all of the "Number C10X" monsters that Nash removed from the game to Barian Hope as XYZ materials and made it so that all damage that would be dealt to Nash as a result of the battle would've been dealt to Yuma.
That's right if Yuma didn't negate his attack he would've lost.
Now though, since there was no change in Yuma's life total as a result of this battle Nash's LP become 0.
With an explosion, Nash is sent flying backward as his LP turns to 0.
He lost because Yuma wouldn't attack.
Nash: [0 LP]
With the duel over, Nash says his final farewells to Yuma hoping that his friend will never change who he is. Then, with a purple radiance, Nash vanishes.
All that is left is a grief-stricken Yuma crying out in pain at the loss of his friend.
"(ZEXAL World): Yuma Tsukumo Vs Barian Emperor Nash. This winner is Yuma."
