Chapter 11 - Drunk and Dizzy

(A/N: I'd like to present exhibit A: a particularly adorable Inko Midoriya created by AI for your journey through this chapter. I know she doesn't really look like this in the anime, and her chest isn't big in canon, but I can't for the life of me generate a similar older-looking model with a small chest and I really don't know why.)

A month passed in the blink of an eye. At least that's what it felt like for Izuku.

After about a month of living together with his new family, Inko, and his old one, Lin, Izuku had to say that he had wasted quite literally all 20 years of his previous life for nothing.

He was more than sure that no one in that world even remembered a single good thing about him. No legacy, no friends, nothing. He felt more content with life in this one month than he ever had in his previous life.

Inko's cast had been removed towards the later part of the month. She assumed that because she had monopolized Izuku's bath time, she would have to let it go once she was healed, but Izuku was already in too deep and decided to just follow her whims and agreed to whatever she wanted.

Aside from a few unintentional touches, essentially nothing had happened between him and Inko. (Though only on his part, because the innocent Inko practically had no idea what boundary was)

He chose not to take the initiative and instead let the world decide, it was easier for his mind that way. If it happens, it happens; if it does not, well, only then will He take the lead.

Affected by Izuku's sudden exercise routine, Inko started to work out herself. She took on a few yoga exercises and classes, both online and offline, slightly slimming her rather plump body. She initially wanted to follow along with Izuku's morning run, but it was too intense for her.

Though, they had dedicated one day per week to going on a much milder running exercise. It was a good opportunity for Izuku to bond with Inko, in more ways than one.

And with him being on a summer break and not having any responsibilities to attend to, he pretty much had free time all day every day. Most, if not, all his free time was spent on either of these two things.

Spend it idly with Inko and or Lin, doing whatever they felt like doing or training his body and or quirk.

After a full month of continuous and strenuous training, Izuku's body had undergone a substantial change. So much so that outlines of his packs are already starting to form slowly but surely.

Not just his body, but his quirk had quite the improvement as well. First of all, he found a quick way to counteract the immense energy consumption.

Distance.

As it turns out, the further he is from his target, the more energy he consumes. It is only one of the factors influencing consumption, but it is definitely the easiest way to reduce it.

At one point, Izuku tried Shinra Tensei on a car. To lessen the consumption, his hand was only 1 cm away, but even then, the car didn't move. He felt the force coming out of his palm, it just wasn't strong enough. He did make a dent though, so that's something.

He hoped that by the time the entrance exam arrived, he would have already been able to affect a human's weight from a safe distance with Shinra and Bansho. As for Chibaku? He had no hope of doing that yet.

*Meow~*

Izuku looked to his left, Lin was sitting comfortably on her chair, eating her share of chicken nuggies.

Every so often, whenever Lin followed him exercising, he would bring her out to enjoy the equivalent of WcDs in this new world. It confused Izuku how both worlds' version has exactly the same menu, food quality, and service, but it worked out in his favor nonetheless.

She devoured the nugget in a matter of seconds, not minding the crumbs sticking to her fur. Izuku smiled and enjoyed these idle moments. Although it wasn't exactly something exciting, it was good enough for him,

After she was done, he cleaned up her soft fur and carried her back home. The sun had already set and he had to buy some groceries for dinner.

~~~~~
"Mom, I'm home," Izuku said, pushing the door open only to be followed by Lin walking in and saying her version of coming home. *Meow~*
Izuku didn't hear a response and realized what was going on when he noticed the rather rowdy atmosphere inside. Aunt Mitsuki Bakugou, Inko's friend, has been visiting frequently over the last month.
He had no idea what prompted her unexpected visits, given that she had never come by on her own accord in the previous Izuku's memories. The previous Izuku might have hated or felt uncomfortable over it, but he was just glad Inko still had someone to talk to.
Izuku set the groceries down and greeted the two before asking, "Aunt Mitsuki, will you join us for dinner?"
"Aww, Izuku, you're so sweet. I'll join only if you don't mind," Mitsuki said with a smile. She had tasted Izuku's cooking before and it was tastier than she had expected, so she wouldn't mind being treated once in a while.
"Of course not," Izuku replied, returning her smile and deciding to begin preparing for dinner.
He did it the same way he did in his previous life, but this time he had someone else to prepare for. Some might consider it a nuisance, but Izuku saw it as an opportunity to hone his skills and make them happy.
He realized that it is oftentimes when you do things for others that you take them seriously.
Mitsuki looked at Izuku who sorted out the groceries and started his preparation. She turned to Inko, jealously saying, "Maybe Katsuki should just get hit in the head and faint like Izuku so he turns into a man just like that." When she said that, she snapped her fingers.
Inko laughed, she really did feel Izuku changing quite a lot this past month as if he was a completely different person, "I don't think you should say that about your son," She said, not trying to hide her delight in the new Izuku.
"Tch," Mitsuki spat out, "You wouldn't know half the thing that brat is doing. Ever since he learned Izuku awakened a quirk, he's been extra moody and aggressive," She said, her eyes adorned a tired look as she talked about her explosive pomeranian.
"You have Masaru to help, right?"
Mitsuki rolled her eyes at Inko's remark, sighing loudly, "He's as calm as ever, saying it'll pass or something! Imagine! It's easy since he's working but I had to deal with that brat all day!"
Mitsuki kept ranting on and on about the increasingly frustrating situation of her son. She felt like she was going to snap at any moment if she hadn't vented her frustrations to Inko.
Inko, as the recipient, could only smile wryly. She isn't exactly the best mother out there, so she's a bit hesitant on voicing her thoughts but at least she can be a good listener. It definitely isn't the first time Mitsuki ranted to her and she doubts it will be the last.
Mitsuki finally calmed down after Izuku informed them that dinner was ready. He made warm soba noodles to combat the night's chill, topped with a meaty marinated slice of beef and various condiments to enhance its appearance and taste. To balance out the oily soup, he also made a small and simple potato salad.
Under Mitsuki's persistence, Inko relented and opened a bottle of sake she had kept for a while. It wasn't anything special but when coupled with the dinner Izuku prepared, she felt it tastes better somehow.
It didn't surprise Izuku that under Mistuki's pressure, Inko also let her pour a glass for her son. She also kept rubbing Izuku's head while hugging him to her bosom, muttering how jealous she was of Inko.
Izuku could only smile wryly and accept the treatment Mitsuki gave him. He felt a bit hurt that the adult women around him didn't even consider the possibility of him as being dangerous. 'Well, she's drunk so I'll let it slide,' Izuku thought.
If he could see Inko as an attractive woman, He sure as hell can do the same with his unrelated aunt Mitsuki. Not to mention, her quirk, Glycerin, apparently allowed her to keep her skin soft and youthful, and Izuku agreed with that statement 100%.
Oh, and did he also mention how Mitsuki was an annoying person's mother? That must've somehow slipped his mind. How clumsy of him.
But anyway, seeing her drunken state, Inko messaged Mitsuki's husband to say that she will be staying for the night. Izuku was quite surprised to see that Mitsuki was a light drinker. He expected his mom to be one and not the other way around.
"Izuku, why don't you carry Mitsuki to your room, I'll clean the table," Inko ordered without looking back as she started to wash the dishes.
"Kay," Izuku said, taking Mitsuki's hand in his, yoinking her arm by his shoulders, and guiding her to his room. With Mitsuki occupying his bed, Izuku realized he'd be sleeping in his mother's room for the umpteenth time this month.
Izuku didn't intend on taking advantage of a drunk woman, it's not a matter of morals or anything, he had discarded those long ago, but he just didn't like it. He quickly put her down on his bed and covered her with a blanket.
Just as he was about to leave, his head was yanked forcefully by his chin and he felt something soft on his cheeks and heard Mitsuki's rough voice, "He…he, you're such a good kid Izuku, here's your reward,".
Without giving him a chance to respond or see her playful smile, she yanked his head away just as hard as she had before and practically screamed, "Now out, I'm so tired," while shooing the poor boy.
'...I swear I'll beat your son dead one day,'
~~~~~

After helping his mom clean the rest of the mess and doing his daily Lin fur brush, Izuku and Inko brushed their teeth in preparation to sleep. He noticed her face was covered in a veil of red blush when he looked in the mirror. She appeared to be permanently blushing, making her even cuter than before.

"You and aunt Mitsuki looked so happy today," Izuku said after finishing up and cleaning his face.

Inko soon finished as well and said with a smile, "Mn, it has been a while since we last drank together,"

"I didn't expect mom to have a high tolerance,"

"Like you know anything about it," Inko slapped his arm playfully, "How as your first glass of sake?"

"It was sweet and bitter, I like it," Izuku answered his honest thoughts. It really was his first glass of sake in both lives. He at least preferred this over something like wine or beer.

The two soon reached Inko's room. Her bed was a king-sized one, more than enough to let the two sleep comfortably without making contact, but Izuku knew that was about as impossible as him making a move on her right now.

While Inko went about her nightly routine, he lay on the bed in his usual and comfortable position. Izuku wonders how much money women spend on skincare after seeing her use so much product on her skin.

Circling back to their previous conversation, Inko suddenly remembered that her son is still under the age of 21. His recent actions made her think of him more as a young man rather than a cute boy she used to pamper, "Even if it's nice, don't get addicted, you're not even supposed to be drinking yet," she said.

"You should be worried about aunt Mitsuki instead, she was so drunk she kissed me,"

As she heard his words, Inko smiled slyly. She turned off the lights as she lay next to Izuku and planted a brief kiss on his lips. "That's for adults to worry about, okay?" she said, her smile never leaving her face. "Let's go to bed now,". As she snuggled her head deep into Izuku's neck, he felt her body hug him as tight as a bear's hug.

He could feel her every breath and it reeked of alcohol. Inko, as it turns out, isn't the type to show her drunken state; rather, she enjoys playing with it.

A warm smile appeared on Izuku's face as he looked down at the woman in his arms. He returned her hug, and kissed her hair affectionately, prompting her to snuggle even deeper into him, enjoying every warmth of his tight embrace.
