Capítulo 5: 5

The greenette's facade marred into a frown when he felt someone tapping his cheeks. It was hitting him rhythmically, but it was soft like a plush. Izuku opened his tired eyes, slowly, and he wish he didn't. A paw had hit his eyes as soon as he opened them. Izuku woke up in fright, eyes burning up; "OW-W, W-What is going on?!"

"I'm Hungryyyy." A squeaky voice wailed from beside him. Izuku blocked his ears, his eyes were still burning, god, he looked at the window. The world was still dark. What was the time? He patted the area around his pillow blindly. He finally found it, switching it on. A second letter he threw the device at the cat.

"Sensei, it is five in the morning. Too early," Izuku lied down, turning, giving his back to the yokai.

That didn't dampen the cat's mood, it only got him to be more fussy annoying. He started going in circles, muttering, "Hungry," like a mantra. Izuku covered his head with the pillow, "S-shut up!"

That angered the sensei, he sat on the pillow, suffocating Izuku under his weight. Izuku swatted the cat, but it was useless. The cat is fat! "It's all fur! Call me fluffy!"

Izuku groaned under the pressure, "I get it, I get it, let's go eat! Get off me, can't breathe"

The cat jumped off the pillow. Izuku was greeted with a smug smirk on Sensei's face, "You are nasty,"

"Nah, am just hungry!"

Izuku rolled his eyes, stretching his arms, hearing the satisfying pop when he pulled a tad too hard. He rolled his shoulders, the pain is no longer there, as if he was never bitten. "I'll go freshen up," he announced.

"But my FOOOD,"

"After I take a shower, I could feel the slime in my mouth," he shivered at the memories that were being replayed in his head.

A scream filled the empty apartment, the cat covered his ears, "it's too goddamn early for this!"

An ugly scar was supporting Izuku's right shoulder, fresh maroon-ish wound was clearly obvious that he was bit, and a large part of his skin was gone, "Did you have to bite me like a starved beast?!"

"It's a pre-taste thing, I needed to know if you'd be a delicious meal after all of the shit I'll be going through!"

"And that's by eating my shoulder?!"

"Stop being a sissy, you can still move your shoulder, right? And, the wound is all healed up!"

Izuku rolled his shoulder, a pout still there on his lips, "And how did I get better? The wound is huge, it'd take a lot of healing to patch this injury."

The cat placed his paws on the younger's lap, standing up, "It was me who patched you up, I told you I am the strongest yokai out there and healing is a piece of cake!"

Izuku stared at the cat with a deadpanned expression, "So, it was the faries. That was nice of them," Izuku clasped his hands, smiling softly. He threw the cat's paw off him, and headed towards the fridge.

"I-I-I told you that I was the one who healed you up,"

"Sensei, remind me to thank the sweet fairies. They deserve the world for what they have done."

"I deserve it too!" Sensei argued as he pointed at himself. Izuku continued on ignoring him as looked around searching for food.

Izuku plumped his ass on the coach and reclined his back against the cushions, "Sensei, hate to break it you, but we've got no food!"

The cat's jaw fell on the wooded floor. His narrowed eyes grew big as a saucer, "N-No, you must be kidding me?!!!"

Izuku apologized, and fell on his side, lying down on the couch.

"You're not hungry?!"

Izuku closed his eyes, maybe he can catch a few minutes' worth of sleep if he relaxed his body, "Hmm, I am, but what can we do when there is nothing in home? Simply, we skip it."

"Nu-huh, I am not skipping any meal, I am a yokai who eats five times a day,"

Izuku threw his arms over his eyes, "You eat too much,"

Sensei folded his chubby paws, watching the teen critically while tapping his feet impatiently, "Then tell me how much do you eat," Pointing an accusing claw at the tired boy.

The said boy raised his arms, stretching them, "Hmm, about a meal or two if I was lucky,"

If the cat got get any paler, he would become a blank sheet, "Nonononono, while I am living with you, you'd need to change that horrifying diet!"

Izuku cracked a smile, "And how are we gonna do that when I'm penniless as hell?"

Sensei jumped on the younger's chest, pawing his shirt. Izuku brought his hand and petted the cat who melted against his touch. Sensei snuggled his chest, burrowing deeper in the loose material.

"Gosh, your hands are magic~" Sensei crawled his way upwards till he was tucked under Izuku's chin. Sighing in pleasure, at least he got the food off his cat's head. The purring intensified when Izuku hugged the cat, "You are warm too!"

Izuku chuckled, "For the strongest yokai, you sure are one hell of a cuddly cat."

Sensei paw punched him, but that erupted more giggles from the teen. Both fell in a comfortable silent, only purring could be heard throughout the apartment. Izuku is eyes were slowly falling shut, his hand was running over the white coat of fur gently.

The cat suddenly sprang up, hitting the poor boy's chin which was in his way, so don't blame him for hurting his prey. Izuku groaned in pain, holding his throbbing chin, "S-Sensei, what was that for?!"

The cat suddenly appeared in his line of sight, holding the kid's cheeks, stars appearing in the slitted black eyes, "I know a place where we can get free food, and the food tastes goooood!" Drool started dripping on his nose. Izuku shoved the cat of his face, sitting up. Sensei landed on his lap.

"That's disgusting, you drooled all over me," Izuku wiped the yucky liquid off his face. He regarded the cat who was vibrating with unkempt energy, "And where would that be?"

"Follow me!" The cat hopped off couch.

They didn't really walk off that far, they just descended the stairs and stood a step or two away from the apartment.

Izuku dug into his pants pocket, lazily looking ahead, "So, how are we gonna get food from the forest," They were standing in front of the entrance of the forest, not really an entrance there was no trail that leads one into different parts of the forest.

The cat gave the kid a Cheshire grin, "Follow me!" Sensei started prancing his way to the forest. Izuku sighed, but rested upon following his cat. They dove into the land of yokais, thankfully, they were all asleep; some of them are hanging off the trees, napping on the huge rocks, sleeping under the shades. Izuku smiled at the serene expression they had, they sure look peaceful like that, kinda cute if you'd ask him. They should really lose the murderous countenances when trying to kill him, that'd would help him with anxiety attacks whenever he encounters them.

Izuku noticed that they were descending deeper in the forest. Where were they are heading to?

He didn't have to voice it out, soon they were out of the maze of trees. It was like they arrived to another land. It was a vast area with a river running through it, a grassy area that has flowers growing in random areas, and boulders placed here and there.

Izuku stepped into the place, eyes scanning every inch of the tree-less area, "Wow, where are we?"

Sensei smirked, jumping on the teen's shoulder, "Welcome to the heart of the forest!"

Izuku sat close to the river, watching the fresh water flow peacefully, the sound of the birds chirping brought a smile to his face. He never noticed that the sun was rising at a steady, slowly pace. It was comforting in some way.

"So, why are we here?"

"To fish!" Sensei said as he was eying the fish that was swimming in the water.

"Excuse me?"

That was how Izuku found himself in the freezing river at the crack of dawn, pants rolled up to his boxers, with a stick in his hands; waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike his prey. 'What the hell am I doing?'

"Catching our breakfast, idiot strike now,"

And so he did.

Izuku gathered the stray wood sticks and bulked them up near the river, "Okay, sensei I gathered them up, but how are we gonna burn the wood?"

"That's easy," A white hot light beamed from the cat's forehead. It burnt the wood, and now they had a bonfire.

"W-What was that?" Izuku said looking dumbstrucked, not comprehending whats happening.

"Huh, that is my power." The cat was drooling at the dead fish that was stabbed into the sticks. They caught about four fish, that came in various colors, it was the first time who saw these species.

"Oh, that is because they are Yokai fish, it can't be seen by the humans in the water, but once they are out of the water, they become apparent to any kind's eyes. Plus, they are super delicious!"

They were waiting for the fish to be cooked as they placed it on fire, burning it enough to be crispy. Once it was finally burnt enough making sure that it was not raw in any place, they ate their earned breakfast.

Izuku had only one thing to say, "It's delicious,"

The cat snickered at the face Izuku was making, it was as if he was blessed with an amazing present, "Told you so!"

Izuku grinned before choking on a bone, and Sensei laughed heartily at the comical scene in front him, but soon enough he also choked on a bone; both were coughing up the sharp object that obstructed their throats.

Izuku was lying down on the grass, basking under the warmth of the sun. it has been a longtime since he was well fed; especially in the morning, and he didn't even had to waste his money. He sure felt happy, Izuku stole a glance at the cat who had his eyes closed, and a smile drawn on his curled mouth.

Maybe it wasn't that bad being stuck with a Yokai, he actually felt…Happy. And, he was smiling more. That is such a foreign feeling to him. Does he deserve it though?

The cat groaned and that brought his attention to sensei who turned his chubby face to him.

"You sure think a lot,"

Izuku's face flared with embarrassment, he forgot that the kitty could read his thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I just… don't know I was feeling stupid,"

The cat rolled his eyes, "Who the hell said that you don't deserve happiness?"

Izuku stayed quiet for a while, shying away from prying eyes, but then he sighed and turned his head to the yokai, "It was my mother."

The cat's facial expression remained passive with a hint of annoyance, "Yeah, and why would she say that?"

Izuku smiled bitterly at the yokai, "Because I was nothing more than a curse to her."

"A curse?" Nyanko-sensei laughed out a loud in that squeaky manner of his, "If you were a curse than she would have been long dead; that is what a curse means,"

Izuku sighed for the umpteenth times, "That what means in the yokai relam, sensei. In my world, it means that I am nothing but a bad luck, a dead weight on her shoulder,"

"Nah you don't have bad luck. I mean you met me! The strongest yokai in the world has your back,"

"And he'll have my neck,"

"Ohohoh, I can't wait for that day to come. Bet you that you'll taste good," Sensei said and clapped his hands with a weird enthusiasm boost that came from out of the blue.

Izuku chuckled, "I guess, I'll take it as a compliment."

The yokai pouted and pounded the younger chest with cat punches, "It is a compliment and I'm a pleasure to be with, so you better act like it!"

Izuku laughed a lot and hugged the cat close to his heart.

"Now for the serious talk," Sensei sat in front of teen, Izuku sensing the urgency of the upcoming topic, he sat in front of him in a kneeling position.

"What do you know about yokais?"

Izuku seemed taken aback by the question, but he answered it anyways, "Mmm… Yokais are ranked in terms of strength; they also prefer to work alone; some of the weak ones would follow the strong to not be hunted, and their favorite meal is a human child," At the mention of the victims. Izuku shoved his hands up to his face, remembering their pained screams, the remainants of their bodies. The raw smell of iron. The blood that smeared the ground. It was all too horrifying for a child to witness. It was hard to take in, being scarred mentally at that young age.

Sensei's spared the younger a glance, "You know that by eating a human we grow stronger,"

Izuki still covering his face, nodded solemnly; "I know that, they become so powerful that it was hard for me to outrun them sometimes."

The cat stayed quiet for a moment, Izuku waited patiently for the yokai to continue, "That's all what you know about yokais?"

Izuku nodded, Sensei placed his head on his paw, "Basically, you know shit about us. How should I explain this simply… okay, so first thing is we have existed for a long time before the appearance of the quirks or whatsoever you humans are raging about; we also have powers similar to the quirks, but we are far more powerful than your kind. Us, yokais are actually able to live together without any conflicts, but no world is filled with only rainbows and sunshine. There are three types of yokai; the normal, blood thirsty, and akuryou."

Izuku's back straightened, tensing at the mention of them, "The only type I know is the one that eats humans who also like to chase me for the fun of it,"

Sensei snorted, "You sure are lucky to not have met the other two, one word to describe them is vicious,"

"Vicious? But isn't that all yokais?"

"Nah, you idiot. Any normal yokai would get their craving every once in a while, but those blood thirsty ones eat your and my kind frequently,"

Izuku choked on plain air, "W-What? Never mind on killing humans, but cannibalism? I never met a yokai that eats another yokai!"

"Since they are rare, it's not likely you'll find them everywhere."

Izuku sighed in relief, he hopes that he'll never meet one at all. "What about the akuryous?"

Sensei mused as he rolled on the grass, basking under the sun, stretching its paws out, "Akuryou is simply the corrupted souls of human who turned to yokais or yokais that went loco. They are easily recognized by their unstable form; in most cases they have a static black hollow form. They are kinda like... wandering ghosts?"

Izuku gulped, he is familiar with the last type of yokai; he sees them frequently in the city, hovering around, he always made sure to not cross path with them. He felt scared of them more than any yokai that was in the forest.

"I know those; they are always stuck to something, either an object or a living being,"

"And why do you think that they do it?"

"I don't know, I always assumed to hurt the humans,"

Sensei nodded, "The blood thirsty and akuryou yokais feed off the negative emotions that swirls within a human. As the emotions get darker, it gets easier for the yokais to strike them, take over their senses when they are vulnerable. Sadness, hatred, envy, vulnerability all of these fuels the yokais to hunt their preys." The cat yawned and stretched one last time before he stood up, "That's why never subject these strong emotions in front of any yokai, so they won't take control over your body and use you as nothing, but a vessel."

Izuku nodded, absorbing the truth about yokais like a sponge, "Sensei, you must protect me too, please don't let them kill me before you do." He held the cat in a death grip, "Loose the death grip, moss head," He relaxed his hands, "Don't worry, while I'm here nobody is going to touch a hair of my prey's; they'll have to pass through me first," Sensei pointed at himself.

Izuku ran his eyes over the said barrier, a plump pig-looking cat.

"…"

"…"

"…"

"… What?" The cat asked annoyed at being looked down. "Sure, pass through you first," Izuku threw the cat, and the poor thing bounced, landing on his head.

"You shitty brat! That's yokai abuse,"

Izuku's laugh echoed throughout the forest, he stood up, swatting the dirt of his pants.

"What should we do next?"

"Go to school? Aren't you late for it?"

Izuku blinked.

"Oh, shit!"

Katsuki tapped his foot relentlessly as he waited for the nerd to burst through the doors. He came extra early so he can ridicule the kid. No one, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO RIDICULE BAKUGOU FREAKING KATSUKI and gets away with it.

His eyes narrowed dangerously, Deku must have gone nuts to stand against him and act all smug about it. He'll make him wish that he never crossed pathes with him anymore. He slammed his fist against the desk. What angered him the most was his mother expression, she looked…amused. She even went pointing at him, laughing her ass off at the dumbfounded expression on his face.

"You deserved that. About time somebody freaking kicked your ass off your high horse!"

Is that how she reacts to someone who embarrasses her own son? The old hag must have went crazy.

He can't wait to engrave his fists into the pale skin, teaching him his place. Apparently, the green haired teen didn't learn his place after all of these beating. A smirk stretched his lips, yes; that's the only way the idiot would learn his lesson.

He waited, frowning as he saw the extras filing in. Weird, Deku never missed school nor was he ever late. Deku would be the first one to be seated in the classroom; god knows, when exactly he comes to the class; must be hella early.

The last one to enter the class was the teacher, sliding the door close; approaching his desk. And still, there was no sight of the nerd.

Katsuki's eyes flared with anger, the coward must have ran away. That freaking chicken nerd, does he think that the blonde can't find him, 'Run all you want, but you can't hide from me shitty nerd!'

A few minutes rolled by as the teacher took attendance, lo and behold Izuku bursted through the classroom, looking like a wreck.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm late!"

The teacher shook his head, and told the nerd to sit in his seat. The greenete bowed once again, before going at the end of the class and sat in his seat. Burrowing his head in his over sized uniform.

Katsuki's eyes gleamed dangerously, 'I'll just have to deal with him in the lunch period,' Cracking his knuckles, smirking at the amount of beating he'll give the shorter, frail teen.

Izuku pivoted his feet to the direction of the back doors of the classroom, he'll have to give a sprint to… whatever safe haven out there. He is not stupid to not notice the wrath of his childhood friend. Waiting for the bell to strike, so he can dash out of the suffocating classroom.

Miraculously, he managed to escape Kacchan's wrath with all his limbs intact. He slowed his pace, pondering on where he should go. He has no money, so the cafeteria is not an option. Thanks to the hearty breakfast, he's not that hungry. Basking under the sun would be nice, he smiled as he skipped to the backyard.

Izuku layed under the shades of the lone tree in the yard. The sound of the leaves rustling was slowly lulling him to sleep, stretching his arms above his head, maybe he could catch some sleep before attending the rest of the day. He threw his arms behind his head, a smile etching his lips, but he should have known that there will never be a moment of peacefulness in his life. As soon as he felt himself drifting to sleep, a heavy lump of fat hit straight into his face.

Izuku groaned and pulled the thing off his face, taking in a deep breath; he suffocated under the heavy weight, god, just what the hell is-

He looked into familiar leering eyes, "S-Sensei?"

The cat waved a paw, "Yo!"

Izuku pinched the chubby cheeks, slightly pulling them; "Don't yo me! I could have died under your weight! You should really lose plenty of pounds!"

The Yokai pinched his bulging tummy, and then looked at the teen, "This is not fat! Its all fur! I am a fluffy kitty cat!"

Izuku looked tired, he rested on reclining his back against the tree. Choosing to ignore the self-proclaimed fluffiness, "OI!", he gathered the cat in his arms, "So, where were you?"

The cat snuggled against the boy, "Mooching food,"

"…"

"…"

Izuku snickered, full on laughing, "Why the hell am I even surprised?!"

The cat's chubby cheeks were tinted pink, "I TOLD YOU I AM FLUFFY!"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night!" Izuku huffed out the last fit of laughter, "By the way, sensei since we are connected and all, we should stay together,"

The cat hummed, "Yeah, we should since you have a trouble magnet inserted in you, can't let other yokais touch my prey!"

"Thant's nice and all, but how are you going to accompany me to school. I can't really bring a cat to the school."

Sensei hopped off his prey's lap and rolled on the grass, "I can transform into something smaller that you can carry around,"

"Oh right you can transform! But, something small? What could it be?"

The cat jumped on its four feet, a huge grin quirking his mouth, "I know!"

A white screen smoke enveloped the area with a sound of 'poof' reaching the teen's ear. When the smoke cleared, there in the grass layed a maneki neko figurine. It was the size of a coin. He picked it up gently, "Woah, a lucky cat, but damn…it looks creepy,"

"Shut it, this form take little energy, so its easy to transform into it; take it or leave it!"

Izuku shook his head, "Its cute yet creepy, but sensei you are so light, so I prefer to carry you like this, I just need to put you in my pocket. Oh would you look at that, Sensei you became a pocket cat!"

"I'm not going into your flimsy pocket, I need to see around me,"

Izuku poked the the lil figurine, he felt something weird at the back of it. He turned the maneki, "T-this, it's an earring!"

The aura around the yokai turned brighter, "YUP! I'm an earring, to make it more convincing, in this form I can't really move, so I'll be resting all the time; isn't that nice?"

"You lazy cat, but sensei I don't have any piercing," Izuku combed his hair behind his ears, showing his ears that are hole free. The yokai snickered and transformed back into its cat form.

"That's easy," Nyanko-sensei showed his sharpened claw. Izuku slowly crawled back as the claw started nearing his face.

Oh, how he regrets forming a contract with this crazy yokai.
