"Tomorrow, four years ago, I was brought to this world," Cthulu said while looking at the mirror, admiring his gains. He had grown from a disabled SCP(ish) baby to a non-disabled SCP(ish) infant. Now that he thinks about it, his appearance resembles SCP-096. His skin is white and quite sturdy. He has tried to stab himself to test the upper limits of his skin durability. He found that while common sharp objects don't make much of a dent in his skin, a strong stab with a knife could still come through.
Surprisingly, his elongated hands had razor-sharp nails that could cut skin comparable to the best butcher knife in his world. Thankfully they were retractable, or he would have to be careful interacting with anyone. His red eyes were able to see infrared and had quite a long-range. His mouth has grown teeth that function comparably to his nails. His nose was lackluster, all things considered, since it didn't have any purpose other than regulating the intake of oxygen. His humanoid ears were also unremarkable, but the change that he welcomed was the growth of his legs thanks to a fortuitous accident.
As he summarized all his changes he realized he had made quite the jump in his opinion. After all, now he went from a disabled monster to an abled monster. Hopefully, he will go from monster to human in the future. After all, his quirk might prove to be game-changing if he is able to go "Plus Ultra!!" so to speak.
What is his quirk, you may ask? It is non-other than "Mimic"; a quirk that at the moment allows him to adopt the shape and properties of an inanimate object. It may sound underwhelming, but the potential is there. Since he is not required to keep in contact with an object, nor has a time limit to transform back to his "Base Form" per se. In order to activate "Mimic", John needs to visualize the object he wants to transform into. He must visualize the details and then assign a material for the shift. Sadly it doesn't work on his 'real' form as of yet. "Mimic" allows for the change of shape when within the inanimate form as well, which is a plus in his opinion.
Now, the ability has certain cons. For example, He uses a mix of spiritual/mental/physical energy to maintain his sanity and power his transformations. He had experimented on what would happen if any of the power sources were to run out.
So here is the rundown: If physical/stamina energy runs out, he will faint and revert back. Similarly, if mental energy is depleted, he will remain as the object he transformed into until he has enough to shift again. The real nightmare fuel lies in the fact that when he consumes all of his spiritual energy, he loses his awareness, and well, he turns into a mimic. Let's just say that someone holds false hopes for a missing pet.
Now that he is on the subject; that Sunday was a rollercoaster of emotions. It was the first time he killed an innocent creature. The worst part was that while he was not "fully there" he had a basic level of awareness. The same level of awareness one has when they are in a dream. Like the subconscious kind, so while he was not entirely himself; he was somewhat there.
In his "Mimic" state, he first lured the cat by transforming himself into a replica of a garbage bin filled with tuna. Then he waited for the cat to jump and place himself above one of the closed lids. And as if on cue, the lid disappeared, and the cat fell inside of 'him'. The cat didn't realize it then, but it fell into what could be considered its grave.
Moments later, "Mimic" reduced the size of the bin and added spiked- teeth to 'his' insides. After a couple of seconds, the cat was skewered in a brutal fashion resembling an Indiana Jones movie scene. He vaguely remembers how some of the cat's blood leaked out of himself to the alley's floor. Several seconds later, he regained his awareness only to find a pool of blood surrounding him.
He noted how he enjoyed ripping and eating the innards of the deceived cat. It brought him a rush of satisfaction that would have made a lesser person an addict. That cat tasted different compared to other cats. In his past life, he went on a vocational trip to china, and while it was cut short, he took the opportunity to sample what domestic pets of his home country tasted. The MHA cat tasted different, like in a "Spiced-up" kind of way. With all that thinking aside, he figured he would need to learn how to lucid dream to avoid pilling more corpses in the near future. After all, he didn't want to become a killing machine every time he consumed all his spiritual energy. Strangely enough, his spirit energy reserve grew a little bit.
An initial downside of his quirk was that he required several seconds of concentration to transform. It took almost four years and a lot of practice, but John, now Chtulu, was able to develop a shortcut. Each transformation had a certain feel/smell/sight/texture to it. He, with effort, can essentially compartmentalize the feeling in his brain and trigger the shortened process when needed. Thanks to that technique, a transformation that would take 10 seconds can be accomplished in 3 or fewer seconds, depending on mastery level.
"Mimic" shares a lot of similarities with Momo Yayorosu's "Creation" quirk. The difference is that while she can create something by just knowing it and consuming some lipids, He needed to consume the material in order to replicate it. For example, if he wanted to transform into a jar he would have to designate material for it. John is not able to create a material from nothing, but he could have his body replicate it. Therefore if he ate a piece of iron, he could apply it to his transformation, becoming an iron jar. Additionally, the material consumed gets imprinted in his psyche like a mental tattoo of sorts.
His quirk requires a lot of energy to work, making changing from one form to another be quite costly for his four y/o self. His quirk held a lot of potential; if he were to achieve a "Quirk Awakening" of some kind he might be able to manipulate his "base form" to suit his needs. For now, he can only keep doing what he has been doing all along. He has to keep on the grind. Let's wait for what tomorrow may bring.

He monologued a lot yesterday, even by his standards. He couldn't help it, it was as if he was compelled to do it, but who cares. He has been expecting today quite a lot. Normally, when a child turns four their quirk manifests in a notable manner. Emitter, Accumulation, and transformation quirks often present themselves on their user's fourth birthday. In this world, a quirk's manifestation is almost like a rite of passage into "Humanhood". In a way, that notion is quite stupid since there is no humanity in being able to summon earthquakes at will. But hey, that's how MHA works; often logic takes a backseat to allow theatrics and drama to take their place.
Speaking of drama, the kids of my generation have acquired enough self-awareness to try to bully me. So hey, that's a plus. I don't even understand their thought process. Like why would they try to bully me, I am the physical amalgamation of their nightmares. It was as if people on my earth were trying to catch fists with Freedy Kruger. Like bro, don't poke a sleeping lion. When I was their age, my priorities lay on not missing the next episode of Pokemon; not creating and rising above a complex social hierarchy. Back on my earth at this age normal kids were chilling in a corner and picking their noses while comparing buggers. So cheers for progress.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On another note, it was hysterically funny seeing a kid try to call me insults like "Giant Bugger" and actually expect a reaction if his facial expressions were anything to go by. Like shit is funny as hell, I called a kid "Pupu Head" and he was ready to throw hands. Like shit is hilarious. There was this kid with a ball-like chin and I called him "Ballsack". I was like "Hi, Ballsack" and he got all offended and ratted me out to the teacher. How does a four-year-old know what "ballsack" means, like wtf?!!
Obviously, I got in trouble with the school and was called to the office. Inside, the teacher proceeded to rip me out a new one for being offensive and shit. Like what the hell, those were big words for a four-year-old. This is the part where it gets hilarious, So I asked her if she was going to play grooming with me since I heard grown-ups say that some adults would pick kids and play it with them alone.
Bro, she lost her shit. She was contemplating her life choices when I said that. She probably was afraid I was gonna rattle her out for "playing" with me, so she dropped the matter altogether and just left me be.
It was hilarious watching the kids get offended because of my "villainous" actions. They even were boasting about their quirks as if they were the next "All Might". Their quirks were not even that good, some had potential, but a good chunk of them would only amount to party tricks.
Having said that; my quirk went through a pseudo-awakening this morning. I was doing my usual morning routine of turning myself into objects and noticed that I required less energy to transform. Specifically, about half as much. For the first time in a long time, I felt happy because a good thing actually happened to me. For fucking once, the Universe opted for delivering a gift and not the usual "Fuck-You's" I usually get.
While it may sound that I was having a hard time, my life could be worse. I am fed nutritious meals three times a day; I have a room for myself and all that mojo. The "Human" interaction could use some improvement, but you know. When you are as ugly as I am, people are not inclined to speak to you or show you any kind of affection. Even the matron at the orphanage who likes to interact with all "her children" often avoids me. I don't really care, but it is upsetting nonetheless. I hope I get adopted so I can leave this place and find a better place to grind.
As I went into the arms of Morpheus, only one thought permeated my brain "Keep on the grind!!!"
