"They are busy. Try to stay out of their way," Selene advised Agnes.

"Yes, Milady. Are they doing this for dinner? You missed dinner the first night," Agnes said, curious about what the lord liked to have for dinner. "Should I find you another dress and do your hair?"

"That won't be needed. I'm sure he doesn't expect much for dinner. I will have a bite and then get a glass of blood. That is all I need. Strangely, I have not run into him since he returned," said Selene. 

What was Xavier up to that they didn't cross paths?

"Did you want to see him, Milady? I could have spoken to another maid or gone to the butler to inform the lord you seek an audience with him. I should have noticed you wanted to speak with him," Agnes said, thinking poorly of herself since she wasn't too attentive.
