"Are there any updates from the X-Clan?" Malachi inquired of the messengers at the courthouse.

"The Cavern, Snakeherd, and Waiwen families are getting ready."

Malachi nodded, considering it must be someone from outside those families. He was familiar with them, and they didn't seem sly to him. Their preparation also contradicted the reason for dethroning King Tural. The person desiring the throne would surely appear ready.

Malachi furrowed his brow. It had to be someone ranking above these families, someone whom they would consider a minor challenge. Someone poised to claim the throne once King Tural was no longer in power. But who could it be?

"Which one of them is the most suitable?" Malachi questioned.

"The bloodline is quite mixed. They all have at least one pure-blooded parent, but it will be tough to identify the purest among them."
