Mid-hill Villa seemed unusually quiet tonight, even deserted, which was odd for this hour when everything should be orderly. Yet, as she passed through the front courtyard, she couldn't see any trace of the butler or any servants.

Stepping into the villa, her slippers were placed at the entrance. As she changed shoes and looked toward the living room, only a few dim wall lights remained, casting a very faint and gloomy light.

That didn't matter, though, because as she turned through the atrium and arrived at the dining room, the sight before her instantly dispelled her confusion and incomprehension.
