Capítulo 317: Dessert

Zaya's sigh was as dramatic as the last scene of a tragic play, but she didn't fight us when Lise's request for dessert turned into a unanimous demand. 

"If I weren't so amazing at this, I'd make you fend for yourselves," she muttered, tying her apron back on. 

We were all seated around the kitchen, still full from her earlier masterpiece, but the idea of dessert was too tempting to resist. Zaya's cooking was almost as good as her magic or at least equally spellbinding. 

"Do we even have dessert ingredients?" I asked, raising an eyebrow as she started rummaging through cabinets. 

Zaya didn't dignify that with a response, simply producing a small tub of cream, a bar of dark chocolate, and a carton of fresh berries from the refrigerator. She lined them up like a soldier assembling weapons. 

"Watch and learn," she said with a confident smirk. 

Lise leaned forward, clearly intrigued. "What's it going to be this time? Something fancy again?"
