Capítulo 4: MY SHARES

"Call Raymond and have him attend to it" Abigail said as she made way to her desk.

"Raymond can't attend to this matter Miss, someone wants to buy your shares and they her offering a good amount of money for it" Rebecca said as she stood in front of Abigail who was now sitting on her chair.

"I've told you to tell them I'm not interested in selling my shares" Abigail said as she turned on her laptop.

"I have but the buyer still insists and the board has called for a meeting and it's compulsory for you to attend" Rebecca stated recalling the email she received.

"Okay fine, I'll be there" Abigail said with a heavy sigh.

And with that Rebecca left the office as she went to her spot just by the entrance.

Abigail could only wonder who was so persistent in buying her shares in the company, she wasn't willing to sell it no matter how high the money was.

And the fact that the person wanted it so much only made her Abigail wonder how important it was. Either way she was gonna find out in an hour time.

...........

On the other side of Country D, inside of the Quinn's Consolidated was a very angry young and handsome man as he sat on his chair with his eyes closed waiting for the report he asked for.

He had asked for this report a week ago and up till now he hadn't gotten a good response, he didn't like delays.

His office phone rang and he pressed the answer button.

"Mr Lee is here, should I ask him to come in?" Came the voice of his assistant.

"Let him in" Was his reply as he stood up from his chair and made way to the glass wall overlooking the city.

The door soon open and in came Mr Lee, with one glance at him one could tell that the man seem to be shaking as he made way to the devil.

Mr Lee was a middle aged man and he had been working in the Quinn's Consolidated for two years. He had never actually come this close to the CEO but he had heard things about this man that was enough to make him run for his dear life. It just happened that amongst everyone in the Company, the man chooses him for this difficult task.

"Mr Lee, my time is of great importance and I simply do not like to waste it." Came Xavier's cold words as he turned to face the man.

Mr Lee couldn't help but be more frightened when he saw the man's face, and his grey eyes that were filled with menace directed to him.

"Now tell me, why haven't I gotten the shares yet?" Xavier asked as he began to walk towards the man who was shaking at the spot.

"Sir.. Sir I tried but the lady insisted on not selling her shares sir" The man answered with quivering lips as Xavier stood in front of him with his eyes never breaking his gaze away from his face.

"Ha ha ha" Xavier's laugh echoed in the office as he then moved away from the man and went back to his chair.

"So it's a lady, you are finding it hard to deal with, a lady" Xavier said as he took a sit on his chair.

"Sir it's not like...." The man tried to speak but was interrupted by Xavier.

"I don't care what the case is Mr Lee, if I don't get a good report by tomorrow morning then I guess you can start clearing your desk now" Xavier said which left the man's mouth wide open.

"Leave" Xavier ordered and Mr Lee didn't need to be told twice before he rushed out of the office.

Today was his last chance to get those shares or else he would be clearing his desk. He had to find a way to convince the lady to give him the shares, that was why he had asked that he spoke to her personally today.

On his way out he saw Jacob, Xavier's assistant. But Mr Lee was not in the mood to greet anyone as he made haste to the elevator, it was almost 9am and he didn't want to be late.

Jacob pitied the poor man as he could only guess what had happened inside the office. His boss had always been harsh on people regardless of their age, he didn't care. This morning his boss had given him a stern warning about the messed up schedule, he had said that if this incident was to repeat itself the he wouldn't be getting paid for a year.

He could only imagine what his boss had said to the man to make him this terrified.

He wondered why his boss wanted to have those shares so badly but no one knew what was running in the head of that young man. It was not his problem and he was not going to intervene as he didn't want anymore money being deducted from his pay.

...............

Abigail had just got back from doing her morning check up with her patients, she was just entering her office when her eyes saw the clock and she noticed that it was already 8:40am.

She had almost forgotten about the meeting, Abigail took off her gloves and dropped them in the recycle bin. She took off her doctor coat and placed it on the rack, she used her hands to arrange her hair a little and then she went out of her office.

"Let's go" She said to Rebecca who was so happy to follow her. She had never met any of the shareholders before apart from Abigail, and today she was going to be in the same room with all of them, who wouldn't be excited.

Rebecca excitedly carried her laptop as she followed behind Abigail to the elevator.

"You seem to be more excited than me Rebecca" Abigail couldn't help but comment and the girl could only smile shyly as they both entered the elevator.
