ALPHA MAVERICK'S POV
I fucked up.
Nothing was supposed to go like this. My secrets weren't supposed to be revealed like this.
It was true I had the perfect countering strategy to any of her accusations, but it was still a bit too rushed, and I fucked up pretty badly.
The confusion in her eyes should've been a clear signal for me to stop then and there, hold her hand, bring her out of the damned party, and make her understand everything.
That expression of wariness and disbelief should've warned me enough that I wasn't dealing with just some random girl, I was dealing with the girl who was probably betrayed by her mate because that was exactly what her sister said over the call, and I indirectly gave her the reason to hate men once again.
I showed her how she was good when she had her boundaries up and trusting me was an issue from the beginning.
