Capítulo 9: Why?
Azalea's eyes filled with tears. In front of her stood Naomi, knife in hand, alive. Thousands of thoughts started to go through Azalea's head. "Why?" Azalea asked Naomi tearfully. Naomi began to laugh. "Honestly, I did not think you would find out I was still alive this quickly." Azalea wanted to throw up; she could not fathom the betrayal happening right before her. Naomi shrugged and said, "unfortunately, since you know about me, you will have to join your mother." Naomi charged at Azalea with the knife. Azalea used the pan to hold the knife back as Naomi pushed harder. Azalea then kicked Naomi, knocking her to her knees and causing her to let go of the blade.
The knife slid towards the cabinets and caught Azalea's attention. Naomi knew what Azalea was thinking, and they both looked at each other for a second and then went for the knife. Azalea tried to grab it, but Naomi pushed her away and got the knife back in hand. "Stop fighting; just do what your mother did and die already." She said, grinning. As Naomi was about to stab Azalea, a massive bolt of lightning hit her in the back and caused her to fall to the ground. Atticus stood there holding his hand up and said, "come on, Azalea, we have to go now!" Azalea quickly stood to her feet and ran to her mother. Atticus became more irritated and yelled, "We do not have time for this, she is gone, but you know that cause you already saw this happen before."
Azalea looked up at Atticus and responded, "if I saw it happen before, then maybe this isn't real either; I mean, when it happened before, I saw a man with black boots standing over my mother before I snapped back. Naomi is not a man!" Then Azalea realized something, Atticus was standing over her mother, and he was wearing black boots. What she saw had now actually happened. "Azalea, come now! We have to go now!" Atticus said, pointing to Naomi, who was starting to come to and stand up. Azalea ran over to Atticus, blew her mother one last kiss, and then took his hand. The two of them then disappeared.
Azalea paced back and forth in the middle of the night. Atticus stood there staring at her, curious about what was going on in her mind. "Where are we?!?" Azalea asked angrily. Atticus uncrossed his arms and walked over to her. "You don't remember this place?" he asked curiously. Azalea started to take note of the room she was in. It was dark and cold. The door was sealed shut, and there was a metal broken bed. Azalea walked towards the door, and then it hit her. This was the room she was once locked in before. "Is this another one of those future-seeing things?" she asked. Atticus snickered. "Yes," he stated. Azalea looked down and stared at the floor; her eyes started to fill with tears. "I do not understand what is happening; it all feels like it's happening too fast." Said Azalea, her eyes now puffy from the crying.
"Come with me" Atticus puts out his hand, gesturing for Azalea to follow. The once sealed door now opens and leads into a dark, dreary hall. Azalea follows Atticus down the dark corridor. The floors were damp from the dripping ceiling. Atticus waved his hand, and another door opened. Azalea follows him into the room. The room is different from the other; this time, it's bright and clean. There is a bed with beautiful red sheets and a seating area. "Now that I have finally gotten you here. It is time for you to stay!" Atticus' eyes turn red blood red, and the door Azalea walked through slams shut and seals. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Azalea screams, running towards the door. "Azalea, you may not understand now, but someday, you will understand that I'm trying to protect you." Atticus fixes his sleeve and then looks at her with evil eyes. "You will stay here where you will be safe; try not to do anything stupid." After he says that, Atticus vanishes, leaving Azalea locked in an unfamiliar room.
