Pov Yoshie:
- It must be pretty scary to see the person you killed again, isn't it? - I said sarcastically and used my power on Haru's body, making him scream in helplessness. - I have so many options to enjoy, like cutting, dismembering, freezing, or reversing his blood flow.
Haru was unable to resist me, with my level of power, I could control every living thing on a small island at the same time and still have power left over.
As much as La asked me not to follow a path of revenge, what I wanted was not for myself, but for Yuto. He and many people had died in vain because of that bloody day. If there was a villain in this whole story, it was undoubtedly the Avatar and his meddling friends.
I looked at Sokka and Katara, it was strange to know exactly who they were without having interacted with them, that was mainly due to La's influence, so in a way they were my brothers in my new conception. However, that didn't matter as much to me, since La had gone into a spiritual sleep, my powers were more destructive than usual.
Without my Spiritual Mother to maintain my energy, with a simple thought, I could cause ⅕ of the territory of the Earth Kingdom to enter an ice age with all my power, and I would only need a few days of rest in the ocean to restore my energy.
I faced the desperate Haru without any remorse, I could only feel disgust for his soul, it was quite unpleasant to know that even if I killed him, the spiritual cycle would cause his soul to be reincarnated. I can't help but sigh with envy for the celestial dragons. They currently had two ways to ensure that a soul could be completely erased from the universe, either through the black flames or the scarlet ray. In fact, The Descendants of Fire have always benefited from the universe with great powers and techniques.
I raised my water arm and analyzed every cell in Haru's body, every bone, tissue, flesh, and blood. It wasn't difficult to discover that his eardrums had been damaged by the new technique created by Kai's adopted son. I decided to restore the eardrums of everyone who had been affected by the sound wave, not out of pity, but so that they could hear Haru's screams of terror very well.
- Let's start simple. - I closed my fist and used my powers to apply great pressure to Haru's organs, causing them to slowly collapse.
- HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! - Haru screamed in pain, his eyes and ears bleeding as his body was crushed from the inside out.
- PLEASE DON'T DO THIS! - Katara screamed with tears streaming down her face, unable to move because of the bloodbending in her body.
- HARU! - Sokka cried for his friend, his eyes reflecting his helplessness.
Before Haru died, I healed him quickly, almost instantly, restoring him to a completely healthy physical state. Even though he was healed, the bastard lost consciousness, but nothing that another dose of pain couldn't fix. With a simple thought, I broke one of his fingers and woke him up.
- AHHHHH... FUCK! - Haru woke up screaming, trying in vain to resist the rush of blood that was overpowering him. - YOU BASTARD, I'M GOING TO... AHHHHHHHHHH!!! - Another of his fingers broke off, assuming an unusual position in his anatomy.
Haru's cries of pain were enough for Aang and Zuko's healed ears to hear perfectly. Both were under pressure from Yoshie's powers, but Aang in particular was taking a much greater toll on his body, unable to respond.
The Avatar could only hear Haru's cries and pleas, but his strength was nowhere near enough to break free from the oppression of Yoshie's powers, and he could only grit his teeth in frustration and tear up because he was so weak. For some reason, he couldn't find the strength or courage to speak in front of the woman who carried a fragment of the Ocean Goddess' soul.
Haru was subjected to more than 24 deadly tortures in just 2 minutes, being healed and tortured more and more violently, experiencing new levels of pain each time his body was restored. Yoshie did this with a smile on her face, her eyes capturing Haru's every expression, a memory she would never forget.
It was incredibly pleasurable and satisfying to put that bastard through torture where the only limit was my creativity, unfortunately the human mind is not capable of enduring forever, otherwise I could keep him alive for decades just to be subjected to my revenge.
While I was enjoying my revenge, I couldn't help but hear someone else moaning in pain, and it was Jefh, Kai's adopted son. Probably from the injuries he had suffered in his battle with the Avatar. For some reason the thought of Kai gave me a feeling of fear, I couldn't tell if it was fear exactly, it seemed to be more of an instinct.
I moved away from Haru, who was breathing hard, trying to use his mouth to get as much air into his lungs as possible, but not before I used his own blood to create enough pressure to break both of his legs, causing the bones in his flesh to shatter into several pieces, making him scream even more in pain, almost exploding his vocal cords. My walk over to Jefh was smooth, but it was obvious that he was scared, I would be too if I were in his shoes, so I just gave him a friendly, genuine smile.
- It's been a while since I've seen you Jefh, you've grown up a bit. - I spoke as calmly as La herself, not wanting to scare him.
- Hi Aunt Yoshie... I like the new look. - Jefh tried to ease the tension between them, which Yoshie noticed without effort.
- Don't be afraid... just let me heal you. - I placed my artificial arm on his injured shoulder and slowly began to heal all the damage to his flesh and skin. - It would be a problem if his father saw him hurt, he could destroy every human in this world until he found the one responsible. - I was being sarcastic to relax him, but part of me knew it wasn't impossible for a dragon of Kai's caliber.
- My father rarely gets really angry, I don't think that would make him do something like this. - Jefh stared in amazement as his pain disappeared and his bruises healed completely like magic. - When did you find out about my relationship with Kai?
- I can feel his power flowing through you, a unique connection between father and son, even if it's not by blood. Your father is going through a time of transformation, I can't tell if he's finished or not, but the next time I see your father he will be almost as powerful as a god. - I whispered to Jefh, thinking that it would be appropriate for others not to know about the new dragon king that will rise. - I think you'd better leave, at least as far away from the sea as possible.
- I have no problem with your personal vendetta, it's not the first time I've seen people die in grotesque ways. - Jefh actually said sincerely.
- My powers are unstable at the moment, it would be unwise of me to allow you near me at this time. - I used my healing powers to restore Haru's legs, any longer and he'll die without my permission. - Things are about to get pretty bloody, it won't be pretty to watch.
Fortunately, the conversation between Yoshie and Jefh was drowned out by Haru's screams, so nothing they said was heard. Iroh may have even heard or read Yoshie's lips, but his concern for Zuko was so great that he ultimately forgot the opportunity to gain information to try to negotiate a way to escape with his nephew.
Jefh sighed, his plans to defeat the Avatar ruined, and he was in no position to go against Yoshie's wishes. He was only disappointed that he had failed in his mission.
- Can you release the Gothic woman and the Shirshu? They are my allies, they don't need to be the target of your wrath. - Jefh looked into Yoshie's eyes, without knowing how audacious he was being.
- Humph... that's fine, I have no problem with that, she is not involved in my affairs. - I released the pressure of my power on the gothic woman and her pet, even healing their bodies completely.
June finally felt her body lighten, the pressure she felt from her paralyzed body was frightening, even more so when her own blood acted as an anchor for her own movements. She looked at Yoshie and for the first time since she had become a mercenary, she was afraid, for it was as if she had a blade at her throat, with a minimum of effort she could end her life.
Nyla, unable to move, felt her legs being freed from the block of ice and, incredibly, acted calmly, far from her aggression due to Yoshie's influence. He felt June's touch under his jaw, a signal for both of them to leave, even though their goal was within reach.
- Thank you for your compassion... - June thought it appropriate not to provoke Yoshie and to take the opportunity to live another day.
- Get out of here now. - I ordered and watched as Jefh climbed onto Shirshu's back and rode away from the beach with the gothic woman.
The beach's temperature dropped even further as snowflakes began to fall from the sky, the sea waves became rougher and the pressure of Yoshie's powers only increased.
- So Haru... I've been thinking about some things and wondering how the human body reacts when its blood is slowly frozen. - I tucked my fingers under my chin and walked calmly as my footsteps turned the sand into pure ice.
Haru's blood slowly began to freeze, starting from his fingers and toes to his upper extremities, making him cry, knowing that he was just a toy to be used until his life was over.
- Please don't kill him... - Katara begged, desperate and frustrated.
- Don't cry my dear, I know you never wanted to witness or take part in this massacre. - I said calmly to Katara, but I was uncomfortable using my powers to bend her to my will. Maybe it was La's feelings for the Water Tribe people that influenced me. - But every action has a consequence, and I am the consequence.
- Please leave my sister out of this! She's not responsible for this. - Sokka pleaded, glaring at Yoshie. - It's my fault, I planned this!
- I know that, I really don't enjoy hurting you, so I'm just going to scold you. - I increased the pressure under Haru's body, making him scream even louder.
- If you believe that, please let my nephew Zuko go, he has nothing to do with your problems between the Avatar and his friends. - Iroh caught Yoshie's eye and took the opportunity to talk to her.
- Prince Zuko doesn't interest me, not even you. - I looked at Iroh seriously.
With a simple movement of my fingers, everyone under my blood-bending influence, except Haru of course, was forced to line up in front of me, held on their knees as if they were my subjects. Everyone had a privileged view of Haru being tortured, so they were afraid to suffer the same for me.
- What are you going to do to me and my uncle? - Zuko said, summoning all his courage to speak.
- I'm just enjoying your expressions of fear. It's incredible to think that just a short time ago, I was just an ordinary woman, and now I have god-like power. - I raised my artificial arm to look into his eyes.
- What do you mean, you have the power of a god? - Bato said a little startled.
- Why don't you ask the Avatar? He's the best person to tell you that, right? - I looked at the monk, he was indeed powerful, quite powerful, but my current power was far superior.
Aang, who was silent, only thinking about his weaknesses in his mind, tried to use the knowledge he gained on his journey against the Fire Nation to free all of his friends from Yoshie's influence, but his understanding of how they were being controlled in this way was zero and incomprehensible. Not only did the talk of such a massacre disrupt his concentration, but this somehow familiar topic caused his mind to blur.
- ... I'm not a god... - Aang said, confused and frightened.
- Of all the things you could say, you chose that? - I stared at the Avatar in disappointment. - You can deny a lot of things, but it's undeniable that Avatars have the power of a god, often their predecessors have thought of themselves as such or arrogantly acted as such.
- I'm not like that. I want peace for all forms of life and to unite them. - Aang said, watching Haru's agony and convulsions.
- Peace? You were responsible for a massacre. - I couldn't help but be annoyed at how the Avatar seemed to deny the facts, as if he somehow didn't even remember that day, but that gave me a suspicion and an idea. - You don't remember, do you?
Katara's face grew pale, grateful that by some miracle, Aang hadn't remembered going into Avatar mode and accidentally hurting a lot of people the day they tried to save Haru and the other Earthbenders. A secret kept so that Aang could maintain his unwavering determination to save the world.
- Please, Aang didn't do it on purpose, it was an accident. - Katara was trying to defend her friend and not expose him to the true danger of his own power.
- What are you talking about? - Aang asked, clearly not understanding the topic of conversation due to his naivety.
- So that was it... - I observed Avatar seriously, if I remember correctly, the Air Nomads value life above all else, so how would the last man of an extinct culture react to the discovery that he had broken their greatest law? This question came to me, and I couldn't ignore it. - Let me show you your true face, Avatar.
With a simple touch to Aang's head, I transferred my memories of that day that changed everything, except, of course, for my memories of my relationship and connection with the Ocean Goddess. Aang's face slowly changed to one of fear and confusion as he saw himself as a monster who had hurt so many people, including his friends.
- A killer. - I said coldly, but with a little sarcasm. - That's his true nature.
Tears of disbelief fell from his eyes, he knew it wasn't a lie, it was exactly what he saw. Aang felt the pain and fear that Yoshie had felt that day, as the metal floor of the platform was covered in a layer of blood.
- You can hide your true self in that pacifist lie, but you are what you will always be, a murderer. - I brought my face close to his, emphasizing my words so that he could hear them well. - All your predecessors have abused their power to get their way, the difference is the amount of violence used.
Aang's blue tattoos gradually began to glow with a bright white hue, along with a great power that completely eclipsed human powers. A great pillar of light formed from Aang, causing the clouds to swirl in a hurricane-like rhythm.
The state of the Avatar was right in front of me, and I can say that he was currently more powerful than I remembered, with a power that rivaled half of my current power, it sent a chill through my body. I only believed that only celestial dragons could match or surpass me.
- Not bad, you instinctively went into Avatar mode. - I could feel my influence being cut off and my powers no longer affecting the Avatar's friends, probably thanks to the great surge of power he used to intimidate me.
-I... I'M NOT A MURDERER! - Aang said in a panic attack, terrified of himself.
- AANG! - Katara shouted, trying to calm her friend, but was stopped by Sokka.
-YOU CAN'T GO NEAR HIM! IT'S TOO DANGEROUS! - Sokka shouted, preventing his sister from approaching the out-of-control Avatar.
- KATARA... - Aang said, looking down at his hands and seeing his tattoos glowing. - I'M NOT A MONSTER, I CAN'T BE ONE.
- Hahahahahaha... I admit I'm impressed. - I admit it, crossing my arms at the dramatic spectacle in front of me. - You are truly aware of your current state for the first time, and you're still trying to deny the facts?
- I AM NOT A MURDERER! I DIDN'T MEAN TO HURT THOSE PEOPLE! - Aang tried to justify himself with tears in his eyes.
- The Avatar is a soul that has been reincarnated hundreds of times over the past ten millennia, someone who makes the same mistakes every time. - I couldn't help but be satisfied with the pitiful sight of someone like the Avatar. - All of his reincarnations happen to involve him in wars and conflicts, always changing the world. It's pretty obvious to me what it means when a person has divine power for so long without supervision.
Everyone was silent, just watching as Yoshie was unperturbed by the gigantic power that Aang unleashed, making the air heavier, the sea waves more aggressive, and the earth tremble. A cataclysmic event that could be seen from miles away, even by Jefh and June who were at a considerable distance from the event.
- A man with the power of a god, changing the world in his image and killing everyone in his path. - I took a few steps towards Aang, standing seven steps away from him. - If you're not an assassin, then what are you? A tyrant?
I watched in slow motion as the Avatar frowned and took on an expression of anger; at that moment, I clearly saw the primal spirit that had created this utopia in the mortal world for ten millennia. Before Haava or Aang could act, I levitated Haru's body to my position and positioned him between Avatar and myself.
The intention to finish Yoshie was completely negated when Raava saw Haru in front of him, causing Aang's will to take over and regain control. Aang saw the pain in his friend's eyes, the weariness permeating his body, and he was only a few steps away from freeing him from the woman's clutches.
- Aang... help me... - Haru was unable to speak as his eyes opened wide and within seconds, his body exploded in blood, covering the Avatar with his flesh and entrails.
Seeing his friend literally explode in front of him, Aang released an incredible amount of energy, creating a pulse that caused everyone but him and Yoshie to suddenly fall asleep from the overload, all of them falling unceremoniously to the ground.
Aang stood, still paralyzed in his Avatar mode, but somehow unconscious, as if he had lost a part of his soul.
-It is a pleasure to meet you, Haava. - I greeted the Spirit of Light, wiping away the blood that had fallen on me with a single thought. - I was curious if you would come or not.
- You did all this just to force me to possess my receptacle? - Raava didn't hesitate to show her irritation. - You ignoramus, you're upsetting the balance of the universe!
- I'm not, I'm still human, at least a good part of me is human, I just wanted to take revenge on Haru and end his life, I didn't break any rules set by you or the dragons. - I turned my back on Raava and walked toward the sea.
- How dare you turn your back on me! - Raava roared, causing blocks of earth to rise from the ground and a jet of fire to spew from his mouth.
- I am not interested in you, Raava, I was only curious, but all my doubts have already been resolved. - I walked on the seawater, creating a thin layer of ice with each step. - Your time is coming to an end, Raava, better prepare your receptacle for the war against the dragons.
I dived underwater and pushed myself toward the northern tribe, for it would only be a few days before La and Tui's ritual would take place. With my underwater thrusts, I could reach the Northern Tribe in two or three days, depending on whether I was distracted by the beauty of the sea.
Raava remained silent, only feeling Yoshie's energy dissipate, and let out a tired and relieved sigh, as she had no confidence in defeating La's daughter, who fed on the power of the ocean.
- The rules of the universe are changing, as if the world I know is no longer the same. - Raava vented to herself as she saw Aang's friends lying unconscious on the ground.
Raava used her energy bending to awaken Appa, who was stunned to see his teammate in the Avatar state. Within minutes, everyone in the Avatar team except Bato was on Appa's back, flying toward the Horizon.
The Light Spirit possessing Aang's body still maintained the Avatar state, as its recipient was still unconscious and it would be foolish to undo the possession. The sun was setting, and though the clouds were a beautiful sight, the atmosphere was tense and depressing.
- Little flying bison, take care of Aang... he's going to need a lot of help, especially from his friends, to get over his problems and depression. - Raava said, stroking Appa's fur. - Aang, you must adapt to this world quickly or you will perish in the fury of the fire.
