Capítulo 41: More Power

Callie gave the odd contraption a narrow look. She had never seen anything so strange, not even in the science fiction movies she had watched. It looked to be made of stone, but it also looked too soft to be. She moved further into the room where the others waited on her.

The room was larger than the meeting room she had met with the Synthians before. It was taller and wider and carved out of the rock in an oval shape. It was empty aside from the… thing in the center of the room that took up most of the space. Was it alive?

Callie took a step back as the object appeared to pulse slightly. She blinked. Surely she imagined it. Then again…

“When you said you had a way to test my abilities, I didn’t conjure up anything like this. What is it?” she asked as she took a few steps closer.

Naii’ stepped towards her. “This is the Mixer.”

“Not helping me feel better about this,” she warned. “What exactly is it?”
