Capítulo 25: 25. Bonus Chapter: before he goes(part 5)
Ascimos POV:
"wow, so that's light magic,so awesome"
I thought as I began crawling on the floor since the place was dark
|....who could this guy be,I just got here and he is putting me on edge...|
I moved my hand around the wall looking for a lamp to put on,inorder to brighten up the place
"Hey!!! answer the question,who are you?"
"yes, found it"
having touched what seemed to have the structure of a lamp I, turned on what seems to be an automatic switch and the whole place became brightened
"finally,I can see more clearly"
I looked up, since I ended up crawling on the floor due to lack of light,and Infront of me was a brown haired man who right about now was pointing an arrow at me
"woah,woah woah!!!"
lifting up my hands to show submission I began bowing my head and said as fast as I could
"sorry,I don't mean any harm ,I just came inorder to ask a few questions "
I kept on begging but this man Infront of me didn't move an inch,then I noticed that this man was squinting his eyes all inorder to see me,and I saw a pair of glasses on the floor,I quickly picked it up and put it in his eyes and as I did that, he kept on asking me about my identity
"is that better?"
I asked having finally put the glasses on for him
"much better"
the unknown man said as he breath a sign of relief
"wait you still haven't answered my question who are you?"
the man said as he took an attack stance with the arrow but no sooner ha he done that than when he began bowing his head repeatedly very fast to me
"I am so sorry master Ascimos, please forgive me,it there's anything I can do to make it up to you please do tell"
"hey, it's ok, wait there is something "
I them went closer to him and whispered into his ear,it wasn't hard for me to reach since his head was already bent downward
"oh,I see I will have it done,also about the paper thing,I am afraid I didn't receive any"
"that's great,then you're our first recruit, sorry to bring it up this way but I will explain everything to you once we gather the one rest,by the way, what's your name?"
I said as I looked around the large room which appeared to be a library in the mansion which I hadn't seen before
"I am sir Edward ,keeper of this library"
he said as he took a bow
I immediately took a hold of his hand and said
"okay sir Edward, let's go,my mom must be waiting"
"It does make sense why sir withward will bring you to me after all in exchange for my low vision I have good sensory abilities and transporting techniques as an earth mage"
inorder to listen to what sir Edward was saying,I decided to slow down a bit
"this is a good time to show what I am capable of,I can get us to your mom's residence in 30 seconds flats"
he said snapping his fingers to emphasize his point
"hmm,okay,but how?
I asked I'm confusion
"you'll see"
2 minutes later:
"who am I looking at?"
Mom stood up as she looked at the MN standing right infront of her from head to toe.
"phew, that was fast, please tell me next time when you want to do something like that"
I told Sir Edward, I then turned to my mom to reply her question
"This is Sir Edward, our newest member to the team"
I smiled as I told her
"hmm m, haven't seen him before"
She said with a look of 'lack of trust' her eyes
I was about to speak when my mom held up her hand for me to zip it which I obviously did, I love my mom and we are awfully close whenever she's around since she spends most of her time at her work which I do not know what it is, she only has a few days off in ayesr from what I have observed from my younger years still now

The point is, me may be very close but I know when to not cross the line and the last thing I would ever do is disobey her, so I decided to not talk and let the thing play out. When mom saw that I had understood her signal she began to speak
"so Sir Edward, please do tell, how I haven't seen you before"
She said with a grim expression on her face, I hate to be in Sir Edward's shoes right about now, the guy's literally sweating.
Mom may not be able to tell because he is on his knees but from where I am, I can see drops of sweats on the floor
"well.... I... I..."
He began stammering, it was only after a few seconds, that he was able to comport himself, he swallowed down a big gulp of saliva, raised his face and began to talk
"well actually, madam Emilia, I am a guardian of the library and that's where I resides at all times except on special occasions and even then I hardly ever get to socialize, except when someone comes into the library, that's how I meant Ascimos when"
*cough*cough *
|.... If I tell her of how Ascimos and I met, and how the encounter began, she may be more pissed than she already is, I will just keep that little detail to myself.... |
"why did you stop, please continue"
Mom said as she looked at Sir Edward coldly
|.... Wow, mom knows how to demand respect, she does relate to the menservants and maids in a friendly manner but she knows when to draw the line.... |
I wonder what's going through his thought process right now, as he faces mom
"ummm, I meant, Ascimos was also able to find me in the Library, but you ma'am, I don't have a record of you being in the library except from a long time ago, so that mostly explains why you and I haven't crossed paths before"
"yes, that's true, I stopped coming when they change the old lady who was in charge of it before"
My mother said
Mom took a deep long breath as she dropped her guard a bit
"it's okay, I can tell you don't have any hostile intention, you may stand"
Mom looked at him with a mom calm expression on her face, she brought up her hand signaling him that she wanted an handshake
And Edward replied in kind
"sorry, if I got you tensed up, we're going to be on the same team and as such we need each other trust"
"no problem ma'am, it's alright"
He said as he put a tense smile on his face
Mom then gave him a hard pat on his back
"ease up a little, I don't bite"
"okay, I understand a little why you are her, but how are you going to help us get the rest team members ? "
Mom turned to take a sit on her bed
"this is how"
Upon saying that sir Edward placed his hand on the floor of the room, and whispered an incantation to himself, after he had whispered that an illuminating brown insignia appeared on his hand and I began hearing rumbles from the floor
"what's... Happening?"
I asked being a bit confused as there was a mini earthquake in the room

"I have an ability that help me sense the sense the feet of people and the feet holds alot of information, though the range doesn't cover the whole estate it does have a good enough range, I am just hoping the people we are looking for are within that range"
He said as he kept his right hand to the floor as he was down on one knee while the other hand was holding his glasses so it won't fall of
"you can sense people's feet, but how does that help us? "
"well it comes with a bonus, from their feet and in a few seconds I can tell their walking style, foot inches and most importantly their weight and I can register that information in my permanently in head, therefore I can tell the weight of everyone in the mansion, the weight does change from time to time so I usually record their weight once every 3 days and one of the perks is that I can measure the weight no matter how small it is, and since you said that this people weren't given any papers, it therefore means that.... "
" I got it, there wasn't a change in their weight "
As soon as those words left my mouth, 4 huge rocks came out of the ground and into the room and 3 of them broke open, everywhere was filled with dust so I couldn't tell how they look like
" I was in the middle of something important when this happened "
A manly voice spoke up
"so was I, but this seems more interesting"
A feminine voice followed
"which person magic is that anywhere?"
A different female voice asked
The room was glowing with different colors of light that seemed to be coming from each of their body,which was able to help me to see in the midst of the dust a little bit, that was then the final rock broke opne with a mighty gush of wind that was able to blow this the whole dust away
"I was in the middle of a sweet dream, by the way this mana seems familiar"
A tired voice said
"it's...."
"Madam Emilia"
They all said in unison as each one of them instantly go on their knees and as soon as they did that they stopped glowing,
"meet our 4 newly added team members"
Edward said as he got up beaming with a smile
"yeah, that's great and all but who's gonna clean up this mess"
My mom asked as she looked round the room at the holes Sir Edward had made and the rocks scattered around the place with a tired look on her face that tells she wasn't going to bother scolding them, but that wasn't necessary
"we are very sorry for not noticing it was you who summoned us sooner Madam Emilia"
One of the female who had a yellow hair said
"please forgive our insolence"
That manly voice was from the light blue haired fellow "
The other two was white a young boy who looked like he is in his teens and was about to fall asleep any moment from now and a brown haired lady

"it's okay, I have it get fixed before next tommorow, now lets get down to why you were brought here"
5 minutes later:
"so do you understand?"
Mom asked having finished explained everything to them
"so, to get this straight another round of base ball is being held but this time on a larger scale where everyone in the estate would be participating"
The yellow haired female whose name was Mandy replied
"and you need us to complete your team"
The light blue hair man whose name was Tony said
"yes that is right, and I it has been decided that our coach is Ascimos"
Mom pointed to me and everyone in the room turned to my direction
"i will try to do my best"
I bowed down my head in order to show my resolve
"what a respectful young man"
Lolita(the brown haired lady said) as she looked at me as if she wanted to just pet me
"that kid? I know he's like my master and all, but does he have what it takes? "
The Kaja(the sleepy white haired boy who apparently had bangsasked)
"don't worry, you may not know, this but he actually the one who made the game so please have faith in him as you would with me"
Mom said as she tried to help give me more confidence
I slowly walked up to them and began to speak
"I will try my best to make you guys the best base ball team there is, no...., I will, so please I ask"
I stretched forth my hand towrds them
"please lend me your strength, it won't be easy and we are going to spend the next hours preparing ourselves for the game but I believe that with the right amount of work, diligence and confidence we can win, so once again, please do lend me your strength "
When I finished speaking, they all burst out laughing
" kid, thinks he is a big shot talking to us like that, huh.... "
Tony said as he placed his hand on his forehead and pointing to me as he laughed
" lend me your strength? What fairytale book did you hear that from? "
Kaja had his eyes opened as he laughed his bangs wasn't able to cover them, but one thing I noticed was, he had beautiful blue eyes
Everyone had stopped laughing when Kaja spoke up, they all kept staring at him, maybe surprised that the sleepy boy could actually laugh
Kaja upon realizing that all eyes was on him became embarrassed and turned his face to the other side opposite everybody, which just made everyone to laugh the more including me, Edward even let out a little chuckle, after a few seconds had past and everyone had gotten their composure back, they began talking again but this time more relaxed and at ease
"well I guess it wouldn't hurt to go against Master Rachel's team, I can test out my abilities"
Tony said with an excited look
"I have a feeling this would be fun"
Lolita said with a smile and her eyes closed as her two hands were put together
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a break from sleeping"
Kaja who was still a little embarrassed said to himself
Mandy continued from there
"What we are trying to say is that....."
And everyone together
" WE'RE IN!!!"
"thanks alot"
I said, happy that we now have a complete team
"another thing..."
I turned back to take a look at sir Edward, I scratched the side of my face as I began say
"we actually need 9 people on a team"
"oh I am so sorry, I will get the 2 other people right away"
He said as he placed his hand on the ground again but before he could chant any incantations, mom drove him out from the room
"if you are gonna do that go do it outside the house"
As she banged the door on both Sir Edward and i
And with that Team Emilia was was ready to go
75 more hours before Subaru leaves for the imperial academy....
