Capítulo 3: Honor Thy Father

Green Arrow and MockingBird stand atop a rooftop watching Marcus Redman cower behind his bodyguards. One bodyguard starts the fight with a wild punch at Green Arrow who easily deflects the punch and jabs the man in the throat and face, then pushes him aside. Green Arrow ducks under a roundhouse kick and MockingBird vaults over him wrapping her legs around the man's neck and taking him down. Green Arrow sweep kicks the man to his left knocking him down. MockingBird jumping spinning hook kicks the man to her right knocking him out.

She leans out of the way as Green Arrow fires an arrow at a man with a gun disarming him. She throws her battle staves behind her on the ground as they bounce off knocking out the two men behind them that tried to get up. She catches the staves as they ricochet back to her. Green Arrow fires two arrows at the last two standing guards incapacitating them.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Please, wait, wait," Redman begs as he steps back in fear. Green Arrow grabs him by the collar and throws him off to the lower roof onto a ventilation fan. He jumps down after him and kicks open the grate covering the fan. He grabs Redman by the hair and holds his face inches away from the spinning blades. "No? No, please! No, please, please!" Redman cries out.

"Marcus Redman, you've failed this city." Green Arrow growls gripping his hair tighter. "Oh, you said the thing," MockingBird says from behind them. "Please! No, please, no! Don't hurt me, please!" Redman begs uselessly struggling in his iron grip. "Yes flail pathetically with your face inches away from the spinning blades. That's a great idea," MockingBird says drily. "Cell phone, inside pocket, call your partner. Tell him to give those pensioners back their money." Green Arrow says getting Redman's attention.

"Oh, please don't!" Redman whimpers pathetically. "Do it now," Green Arrow barks gripping his hair tighter. "Okay," Redman exclaims fearfully. Green Arrow pulls him back and releases him. "We'll be watching Redman," MockingBird singsongs following after Green Arrow.

Oliver walks into the sitting room where Moira is sitting on the couch with Walter standing behind the couch and Thea standing next to the couch.

{Over the past 15 years, Mr. Redman has withdrawn more than 30 million dollars from the plant's account. Mr. Redman claims refunding the Halcyon pension plan has always been his intent. But sources say Redman was coerced by the vigilante duo.}

"These two get more air-time than the Kardashians, right?" Oliver asks gesturing to the television. "Five years on an island and you still know who they are," Thea says amused. "I've been catching up. It's nice to see how much our culture has improved while I was away," Oliver shrugs smiling. "No, the city used to be different. People used to feel safe," Moira says shaking her head. "Oh, what's the matter, Mom? Afraid we're gonna be next?" Thea asks teasingly.

"Do you have any questions about today, Oliver? It's a simple proof-of-life declaration," Walter asks. "Just read out a brief, prepared statement to the judge, and then your death-in-absentia judgment will be voided," Walter helps up Moira and straightens his jacket. "It's fine, Walter, I've been in a courtroom before," Oliver says smirking. "Four times by my estimate. You know, there was the DUI, the assault on that paparazzi douchebag," Tommy list off entering the living room. "Stealing that taxi, which was just awesome, by the way, and who could forget peeing on the cop?" Tommy asks patting Oliver's back.

"I wish everyone would," Moira says sighing. " I'd hang, but we're headed to court," Oliver says smiling apologetically at Tommy. "I know, that's why I'm here. My best friend is getting legally resurrected, I wouldn't miss this for the world," Tommy grins amused at Oliver. "Right, okay," Oliver sighs. "What about you?" Oliver asks Thea.

"Oh, I think the first four times of you in court was enough for me," Thea says with a grimace walking past Oliver. "Fair enough," Oliver shrugs. "Mrs. Queen? Car's ready," Diggle says walking into the living room.

"There was a storm. The boat went down. I was the only survivor," Oliver says somberly to the judge. "My father didn't make it," He swallows thickly. "I almost died, I... I thought that I had because I spent so many days on that life raft before I saw the island," He says clearing his throat. "I knew that I was gonna have to live for both of us. And in those five years, it was that one thought that kept me going,"

"Your Honor, we move to vitiate the death-in-absentia filed after Oliver's disappearance at sea aboard the Queen's Gambit five years ago. Unfortunately, we will not be requesting that the declaration of death filed for the petitioner's father, Robert Queen, be rescinded. The Queen family is only entitled to one miracle, I'm afraid," A Lawyer says to the Judge.

"Now, onto the offices. Everyone is waiting to meet you there," Moira says eagerly as they walk down a flight of stairs. "Uh, Mom, that was, uh...a little bit heavier than I was expecting it to be. Can we do that tomorrow? Please?" Oliver says with a pained smile. Moira looks to Walter questioningly who nods and she turns back to Oliver, "Of course," She says sympathetically. "Thank you," Oliver smiles gratefully. Moira nods and walks on ahead with Walter.

"Last week, you couldn't wait to get to the company," Tommy says looking at Oliver perplexed. "I changed my mind," Oliver says curtly as they walk down the stairs. Just as they exit the building Oliver runs into Laurel. "...Hi," Oliver says awkwardly. "Hi," Tommy says thinly lipped. "What are you doing here?" Laurel asks staring at him coldly. "Oh, they were bringing me back from the dead. Legally speaking. What are you doing here?"

"My job," Laurel says tersely. "Right," Oliver says with a tense smile. "Oliver! I thought I recognized that beautiful head of yours," Felicity says teasingly from behind Oliver. "Felicity? What are you doing here?" Oliver smiles warmly and gives her a hug. "You not happy to see me?" Felicity asks with a cute pout. "I'm always happy to see you," Oliver says grinning.

"Oliver care to introduce us?" Tommy asks looking curiously between the two. "Right. Tommy this is Felicity. Felicity. Tommy," Oliver says introducing the two. "Pleasure to meet you, Felicity," Tommy says shaking her hand. "Well, it's nice to finally meet the infamous Tommy in person. Oliver's told me a lot about you," Felicity says smiling politely. "All good things I hope," Tommy grins glancing at Oliver. "Something like that," Felicity shrugs.

"Hey, Laurel. Nice meeting you again," Felicity waves with feigned innocence. "Yeah," Laurel says subtly glaring at her. "Well I should be on my way," Felicity says smiling at Oliver. "See you around Oliver," Felicity says hugging him and giving him a quick kiss on the lips. She nods to Tommy and Laurel and walks away. "Wow, where did you meet her?" Tommy says in amazement to Oliver. "At my Welcome Back Party," Oliver says watching Felicity exit the building.

"Right, we should probably get going. Bye Laurel," Oliver says and starts walking past her to the exit. "What was that about?" Tommy asks intrigued glancing back at Laurel. "Nothing," Oliver shakes his head. As they exit the building they notice reporters crowding around Martin Somers and questioning him. Oliver only glances at him and makes his way to his car where Diggle is waiting for them.

Just as they get to the car the reporters notice them and start crowding toward him asking all sorts of questions about what happened in the courtroom, which he just ignores. Oliver enters the backseat as Diggle is busy pushing back the reporters and Tommy is finding it hard to move. "Where to Mr. Queen?" Felicity asks from the driver seat turning back to him with a grin disguised. Oliver laughs as Felicity drives off leaving behind Diggle and Tommy.

"So I'm guessing Somers is next on the List," Felicity says deflecting a right hook from Oliver and throwing a kick to his side, which he blocks taking a step back. "The DA and police can't stop him or won't," Oliver blocks a knee kick and an elbow to the temple. "You sure it's not because that idiot Laurel is going to get herself killed," Felicity uses his thigh as leverage and jumps up wrapping her legs around his neck and taking them both down. "Not really," Oliver grunts as she puts him in a triangle chokehold.

He turns over onto his front and braces himself before picking her up and slamming her down onto the training mat. "Hey! be gentle," Felcity chirps tightening her grip around his neck. "My ass," Oliver wheezes picking her up and slamming her down harder. She yelps in pain loosening her grip, and he uses the opportunity to free himself. Oliver coughs massaging his sore throat. "That was the tie-breaker," Felicity breathes lying on her back and glancing at Oliver. "Yeah, you're up one win," Oliver nods also lying down on the mat.

"You, listen up. The longer this goes on, the more likely the media is gonna crucify me. You shut this trial down, do you understand me?" Somers says threateningly to one of his men. "Yes, sir," The man nods his head. As the overhead lights switch off and engulf Somers's office in darkness. "What the hell?" Somers exclaims in bewilderment looking up at the lights. He startles when he hears his three bodyguards screaming and grunting in pain. The lights flicker back on and Sommers watches horrified at his bodyguards lying on the ground.

One with two arrows through his shoulders groaning in pain and the other two were knocked unconscious. "What...what...," Sommers says terrified. He is grabbed from behind and knocked out.

Martin Somers wakes to find himself hanging upside down swinging left to right. "Martin Somers..." Green Arrow says getting his attention. "Who the hell are you?" Somers asks terrified. "...You've failed this city," Green Arrow growls aiming his bow at Somers. "No! No, no, no, no, no!" Somers whimpers. Green Arrow shoots an arrow right next to his head missing him. "You're gonna testify in that trial. You're gonna confess to having Victor Nocenti killed,"

"There won't be a second warning," Green Arrow says shooting an arrow grazing Somers cheek. "I like it when he gets all growly," MockingBird says startling Sommers for not realizing she was there leaning against a metal barrel. "What--,". "Swing, you human pendulum," MockingBird pushes Somers to the side making him swing faster. "He looks like he's gonna puke," Green Arrow chuckles watching Somers get green in the face. "Not my problem," MockingBird shrugs as they walk away.
