Capítulo 1: The Boring Office Life
Jenna sat at her desk, feeling totally unenthusiastic about the latest "URGENT" email. The subject line said: *"Resend Report ASAP!"* as if she hadn't already sent it multiple times. She debated whether to add a passive-aggressive comment or just pretend to be happy about it.
"Jenna!" her boss called, an overly enthusiastic man who used words like "synergy" without sarcasm. "Where's that report?"
"Sent," she replied flatly, while attaching it *again*. This job felt like a never-ending loop. Dealing with endless report requests and pointless meetings at Corporate Inc. was seriously draining.
Her phone buzzed with yet another news alert. She looked at the headline: *"Mysterious Flu Spreads: 'Zombie Virus'?"* Another flu scare, she thought with an eye roll. Everything seemed exaggerated these days. Swine flu, bird flu, and now zombies? What's next, mutant lizards?
"Zombie flu. Really?" she muttered. If only. At least zombies had a clear goal: brains. She'd trade her desk job for something as straightforward as searching for food any day.
Marie popped her head over the cubicle wall. "Jenna, lunch? I'm thinking tacos before the apocalypse hits."
Jenna grinned. "If we don't make it back, at least we'll die full of guacamole."
They both laughed as they left the office, completely unaware of what was about to happen. In a world filled with emails and manufactured crises, they were unprepared for what was coming.
