Caroline's life of recuperating was ended by an invitation. The person who invited her was Mrs. Hall.

Just then, Joline called. "I took a look at the invitation and saw that your name wasn't on it, so I knew that they must have sent you another invitation. At least, that lady did a decent job on this matter."
