POV: Finn the human
Finn's plan was all but complete. It wasn't much.
Just shock the teen hooligans and disarm them if they have any weapons.
It sounded easy, but he knew the plan could go wrong at any moment, but for now, it sounded solid enough for him.
All he needed to do was find a good opportunity, and the shock ball would fly into the group while also avoiding the two ladies.
That only meant that he needed to at least wait for the hooligans to get some distance away from the shop, and then he could act.
It simply came to a game of both patience and timing and as the hunter, he had both of the two in spades.
The group was made up of five teens. And with how relaxed they were doing their heist, it could only mean they were very used to doing such things and so far had faced zero consequences for their action.
Or at least no one had bothered to interfere in what they were doing or tried to prevent them.
Those days were over.
Why you may ask. Because he was here! But Finn was not foolish enough to shout out those words. It would expose his hiding position.
The shock ball tightened in his hand as he continued to wait, slightly moving around in the surrounding shrub to get a good vantage point where he could cause the most damage to the group.
And a realization suddenly hit him. What would he do if the shock ball failed? It was a possibility.
Nothing in this world was a hundred percent. The teens, for some strange reason, could somehow turn out to be shock-resistant, or he could even miss entirely!
He thought about it in detail, throwing possibilities in his mind on possible scenarios, and then it clicked.
Finn looked at the book that remained beside him in contemplation; more probably, he was appreciating how heavy the book looked.
An idea had struck! One that would not disappoint him.
And even if that one did fail, he had another one. His secret weapon that would be revealed only as a last resort.
Finn was coming up with all this backup for one reason alone. He wished to avoid using his sword, Scarlet, on a bunch of teens.
If it came to such a moment, he knew blood would be spilled, a scenario he'd rather avoid due to how unnecessary it was. It could be his, or it could be there's.
Especially on a group of people that, despite doing something bad, he'd just rather beat up than kill. And they were also teens and had not harmed the two ladies.
" Revolution! "
" Anarchy! "
Finn wondered why these teens were spouting nonsense instead of being in school.
Which he was sure existed in this world.
But despite that, the time had arrived!
POV: Two ladies
The Two ladies had quieted down, seemingly losing hope in the situation, and it was then that Finn struck.
The two ladies suddenly saw something fly past the forest cover, flying right over their heads and for some strange reason, their eyes traced the path of this strange object. Both in curiosity and wonder.
But what had truly attracted his attention to that ball was the sound it made as it moved in the air.
Like a slight sizzling or a buzz.
They saw how the flying object finally came to the end of its throw and landed among the retreating hooligans, and even the hooligans were attracted by its sudden appearance in their presence.
" What's this piece of junk . . . Argh "
" Argh "
The two ladies suddenly saw a shocking scene amid the hooligans.
The ball that they had just seen flew right past them and erupted into yellow lightning, blasting at the hooligans and running through their bodies.
The ladies felt a wave of relief wash over them and a trace of fear.
Hadn't that thing just passed right above their heads?
What would they have done if that thing unfortunately landed on them?
" THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD "
They looked on at the bodies of the hooligans as they started dropping to the ground and twitching severely.
Their bodies lie at odd angles. As some of their mouths started frothing.
'Served them right,' the two ladies thought, almost wishing to celebrate the quick karma that had turned to the hooligans.
They then wondered who had helped them, who was the knight that had come to their rescue, and their eyes traced to where the ball was thrown from.
And out walked a child?! Yes, wasn't this a child.
He barely reached their waist in height. Had a child saved them? How extremely brave of him!
But they also wondered why this child looked so weird. They had never seen someone that looked like him.
POV: FINN THE HUMAN
It had worked. He thought as he saw the teens be knocked out by the shock ball.
Luckily, his aim had been on point, and the shock ball had worked as it should have.
Finn passed through where he was hiding and approached the two ladies.
He saw the surprise in their eye and the shock that appeared as he walked out.
' Hehehe ' Finn felt especially happy with that sight.
It felt good to help people.
" You saved our shop! " The two approached quickly, and Finn could see the excitement in their eyes.
" Thank you, young man. " The older lady said, and from her stance, Finn could see that she was really happy.
" And don't even worry about the damages. " The younger lady added; by her tone, Finn could say she was excited by the event.
Maybe she was also happy about the teen hooligans getting their payback.
With the sour look, Finn saw her give to the knocked-out teen goons, that had to be the truth.
" We'll just use the broken pieces to build a life-size candle in your likeness. " The older lady said once more, making Finn happier with what he was hearing.
Maybe he could even buy one. In support of their business. And this could also be considered free advertising for him.
It would make his name renowned throughout the whole of Ooo!
Didn't he want to be the hero of Ooo?
" Oh and we'll put it right by the entrance, and it will be our mascot . . . the candle kid! " The young lady finished and Finn could already visualize the gears turning in her head.
But why did he feel that he had forgotten something important?
But what was it . . .
Finn nodded in agreement, feeling his actions were well-received
" WATCH OUT CANDLE KID . . . ! "
It happened instantly. The shout to him and his instinct went wild.
It was like the world around him had stopped. No, it had more specifically slowed down, and it was like a flash had gone off in Finn's eyes.
He felt his vision suddenly change as another image appeared.
[ Two of the teen hooligans had stood up, and they rushed to attack his back while he was faced away. A huge yellow fist appeared, knocking away the bulkier one while the one that wore a biker jacket approached with a huge candle in hand. ]
His vision returned to normal, and Finn, without question, acted instantly.
" Nomicon GOOO! "
The ninja Nomicon appeared beside him and it speeded to the biker jacket teen with surprising speed.
At the same time as Finn fully turned around, he saw a huge yellow fist rush through the forest and slammed into the buff teen hooligan, fully knocking him unconscious.
" Ughhff " The Nomicon had managed to strike at the biker hooligun in the stomach, knocking the air out of his system in an instant.
Finn took that opportunity to approach the teen, clutching his stomach in pain, and he jumped high, summoning the ninja Nomicon back into his hands, and slammed down on the biked hooligan's head with all his strength.
" Thud "
The impact was instant, and this time, the hooligans were out cold
' Breathing heavily '
That was kind of tense. Finn thought as he watched the teen hooligan, who was now fully unconscious. He was still thinking over the whole fight and his carelessness.
How had he forgotten a simple concept such as checking that the enemy was completely down and then finally celebrating?
A true rooky mistake. A mistake he would try to make never happened.
And was that observation haki he had used? Had it allowed him to look into the future?
Finn was excited about the whole thing, at least his wish was working.
But for now, he could not get distracted. He had matters to handle here.
" You can come out now Jake. "
Finn had known Jake was there, not from the future sight, but more like a sense.
That is why he put Jake as his last resort if things went south.
And Jake had not disappointed him!
. . . . . .
A/N
Sorry for the slow release guys. Was away from my laptop for a couple of days and unfortunately my WiFi was cut at some point 😞. But I'm back!
Yes, Finn knew Jake was there. Something like a sense. A brother detector if you would.
Not much happened in the fight because it was that direct. The hooligans were teens and not that skilled in fighting.
And I also want to say that despite Finn being currently young, he is stronger than he knows. Not too strong though
And if you also noticed, he was able to hear the cries of help from the two ladies from quite a distance. So he has better senses than others.
Finally, a big shout out and thank you to my two patrons Jose Martinez and noble animes. Thank you both for the support.
And to anyone interested in joining my patron please do so. I try as much as possible to release early chapters there about three or four chapters ahead of the web novel.
And I'm sorry for my inability to post images. I will immediately do so starting from now and even you can check out my discord for more images.
