Cellica Carpathia was the daughter of a prominent kingdom on the edge of the continent. Being a strategist made the empire unable to conquer the kingdom because of her ingenuity.

But because she was too focused on defending, Cellica didn't realize that her royal alliance had been annexed by the empire.

The crisis began to hit your kingdom because all the resources around the kingdom have been claimed to belong to the empire and leaving only the port.

Pushed by her people's misery, Cellica finally complied with the emperor's invitation. But who would have thought an accident occurred while she was negotiating with the emperor.

Being injured in the empire's territory made the emperor feel responsible and immediately proposed to Cellica to be his fiancé.

Meant only for responsibility, but over time, the emperor's behavior changed 180 degrees. The authoritarian emperor even removed Cellica's royal list of subjugation targets and made it an alliance.

But did the emperor forget the crimes he had committed against her people? Was the proposal based on love or was the emperor hiding a hidden thorn?
