Roselyn stared at Xander as the man sat in front of her at the opposite end of the dining table. They just had their breakfast and he had stopped her from returning to her room because he wanted to use the last day of her freedom from studies productively.
"What are we going to do then?" She found herself asking. Truth be told, she was still not feeling too good, both physically and mentally, after the incident of the previous night.
The last thing that she could still recall about the previous night before she lost consciousness was that it was Crown Prince Felix and Prince River who came to save her from the backlash of the pendant. While the presence of the former didn't surprise her, or maybe did surprise her a little bit, the presence of the latter was shocking.
She never expected to see him there after all that happened between the two of them, not like his presence made any difference to the anger that was building inside her toward him for all that he did to her.
"I will take you on another tour around the academy today and we can have a short visit to the Night Town for our dinner," Xander replied as he stood up with all the dirty dishes in his hands and moved to put them in the sink.
She stood up and moved to help him as she questioned, "Night Town?" She wasn't really familiar with the places, or the general geography of the Shadow Realm, so almost all the places were unknown to her. But something told her that the said Night Town was somewhat important or at least, unique for some reason.
Xander didn't stop her from helping him in washing the dishes with him, he just signaled her to get the dishes washed with water after he was done washing them with the cleaning liquid. "Night Town is the closest town to the academy. So in the past years, it had become the most visited place by students whenever they want to go out and have fun. There are cafes, small restaurants, inns, bookstores, a library, pubs, stationery shops, some beautiful parks, and so on."
Roselyn couldn't deny that hearing about the Night Town, she was indeed a little bit interested to visit that place just to find out if she could go out and hang around there whenever she would want to spend some time away from the academy and her daily life.
"Are the students allowed to go out of the Academy?" She asked while putting the washed dishes in the basket before moving to grab tissues to wipe them and put them back in the cabinets. "I thought you would be giving me some sort of lessons on dark arts or the history of your realm." She stated truthfully.
A faint smile bloomed on Xander's lips as he took the wiped dishes from her hands and put them back in the cabinets before he answered, "The students are only allowed to go out of Academy grounds during weekends, and even then, they can just visit the Night Town as it comes within the Academy's range and is protected by the academy."
Roselyn nodded her head as she understood this rule of the academy pretty well, it was something very similar to how the Royal Academy of the Elemental Realm worked.
"And to answer your second claim..." Xander spoke again, pulling her attention back to him. "That's something you will be learning from tomorrow on and won't be getting any day off even if you want. Considering how little you know about our realm and our magic, you will need to work harder and there are chances that you won't get to rest even on the weekends."
Roselyn turned to look at her guardian/mentor with a very dissatisfied look on her face. She was not at all happy with what he had just said even though she knew that he was stating facts and nothing else. "That sounds the least bit motivating to me." She murmured as she turned away and headed out of the kitchen.
She heard Xander chuckling behind her and she found herself liking the sound. It was probably the first time she had heard him chuckling, or laughing, at anything, but then it wasn't like she had known him for ages or something like that. Still, he seemed like someone who wouldn't laugh easily.
"Go and get ready, Roselyn. We will be leaving after you will be ready." He told her as he passed by her and headed toward the hallway leading to his room.
"Wait!" Roselyn suddenly called him and the man stopped immediately before turning around to look at her while arching his eyebrows high in question. "Won't there be other students in the academy as it is the last day before the starting of the new term?" She was still not too keen on meeting the other students.
After all, it was the Shadow Realm with dark elementals living in it. What were the chances that she would be able to befriend anyone from a place where everyone disliked her realm and her people and carried completely opposite personalities?
"It's still early morning, you will only see a couple of students, and even they would be resting in their dorms at the moment. Most of the students would start arriving after noon." Xander informed her and it made Roselyn relax almost immediately.
"Alright, I'll go and get ready." She told him before she ran toward her room to get changed. Knowing that they would be going out for dinner, she decided to wear something good, but then again, everything that she had bought as the latest collection of her wardrobe looked good.
She chose a sleeveless black crop top along with a matching pair of loose trousers with a really beautiful pattern on the waist, a white cardigan to match her white sneakers, and a black-white printed shoulder bag. She chose white hoop earrings and simple rings to complete her attire before styling her hair and putting on her makeup.
