After an embarrassing banter with Mai, we finally returned to Elijah.
Nothing about him seemed to jog my memory into remembering him, but what I have heard from Mai, I know that I shouldn't trust him.
"Ah," He let his breath out as he made way for me to sit, "Here."
I nodded, "Thanks, Elijah."
"Of course," He bowed back.
"So, we're going to be resting here for tonight, huh?"
"What shall we do from here on?" Mai popped the question as she sat across the campfire.
"I have no clue, I basically remember nothing right now so I don't know if I'm suited to be the leader," I said.
"Same, I don't want to be held responsible if something happens to any of us," Elijah said with a tone tinged with annoyance.
"I guess that leaves…"
"Mai."
"The spoiled brat," Our voices intertwined with one another.
"Ehh?" Mai let out an exasperated breath, "That's a drag though…"
