"What are you talking about?" Raymond asked. He restrained himself from getting angry because it was Albert speaking. But Raymond couldn't understand the kind of reasoning Albert was using to speak with him. Albert knew him well and because of that fact, Raymond was disappointed in what Albert was saying.

"Crown Kane as the Crown Prince..." Albert said with a pleading look on his face. He could see the disappointment on Raymond's face and it broke his heart. Albert had never seen that look on the king's face toward him before. He was heartbroken to know that he had let his friend down in this manner.

Albert wondered how he was going to explain to Raymond that this had to be done for Eliza to live.

"Please Raymond...do not look at me that way," begged Albert as he averted his gaze from the king's now stern face.
