The cloaked man spoke in a harsh tone, with a smirk that was mocking as well as sinister. "So, the vampire prince has abandoned his human slave. Something to be expected from these vampires. They only value their own heads before any human. Don't worry. I will give you a painless end."

The man pulled out his sword and then walked slowly towards Zuri, who stood frozen on the spot in shock and fear. Her mind raced with a million thoughts at once as she tried to think about what to do. There was no time for her to make a run for it. There was no way that she could fight the man off. He was with a sword and she wasn't even with a penknife or a letter opener. Zuri felt hopeless.

Seeing the lady unarmed and scared didn't stop the man who walked forward still, with his sword raised. In fact, there was that smirk on his face that mirrored the pleasure he was feeling.
