Anna's facial expression changed from that of confusion to surprise as a million questions went through her mind in a jiffy.

'This is Roy's girlfriend? She is very pretty.' 'What is she doing here?' 'What is she doing here, I thought she was away on a work trip?' 'And why does she look furious?'

At the last thought, Anna realized something. Roy must not have told his girlfriend about her and the emergency arrangement he made because what else could explain the hostility from her?

If the case was truly what she thought it to be, then she could go ahead and excuse the other woman's rudeness. It was understandable for her to be mad seeing another woman in her man's place, but she should actually calm down and talk before she would burst into flames.

Regardless of the one million thoughts coming and going in her head within a few seconds, Anna reached out her hand for a handshake as she introduced herself, "Hello, Dr. Anderson. I am Anna Carter-Lee."
