Capítulo 7: Training in Olympus Part 3

Six months had passed since Nate started training with Athena, and thanks to slowly mastering telekinesis, the gap between them had narrowed substantially. He could probably even defeat her every now and then, but only if he wasn't simultaneously training in parallel thought so that he could better instruct Hope while dueling Athena, though he still had progressed by leaps and bounds since when he first started training here, and had begun trying to familiarize himself with the magic of this dimension when he was not training.

Since the incident with Ororo Monroe, alias Storm, 5 months prior, Hope had kept busy. First she tracked down Ulysses Klaue, she captured him and acquired the Vibranium he had stolen, keeping only a tiny sample of it for their own use, and delivering the rest to King T'chaka, along with Ulysses Klaue himself. What the King of Wakanda did with that man afterwards, Nate did not care about.

King T'chaka, though not excited about it, kept his word and gave Hope seeds of the Heart-Shaped Herb, and Hope used the sample of Vibranium, the seeds, a bit of ambrosia Nate had managed to acquire in Olympus and a golden apple they received before they came back to the Earth and went to Olympus, and created the seed of a new micro dimension, infusing these things and their aspects into it. It would take a few years to fully develop, but the world that was born should be interesting.

Hope tended to the seed for a few months more, but now Nate had her taking action again.

------

Arlington, Virginia, United States, Arlington National Cemetery

Hope, who was now carrying a small bag and wearing more casual attire, after searching a long while stopped at one of the oldest marked graves in the cemetery. The mans name could barely be read as 'James Howlett'

Hope, and by extension Nate, was aware of the man that approached her, but he was alone and did not have ill-intent, so they allowed him to approach her "Hello, Mr Fury." Hope said without facing the man and continued looking at the gravestone.

"After being so elusive for so long, why are you suddenly arriving and waiting around for me to approach you. It is quite peculiar, is it not?" Nick Fury asked as he came to stand next to her.

"I'm just building a team, you of all people should know what I am talking about, with your Avengers Initiative that you are considering." Hope insisted with a chuckle "I am not a threat to your world, I promise you."

"So you are an alien?" Fury asked, not surprised at all, considering his past circumstances.

"Oh no. Biologically I am one-hundred percent red-blooded American and human" Hope insisted, finally turning towards the surprised Nick Fury "I merely share my body with the Phoenix, arguably the strongest existence in this Universe. When the time comes for this Universe to End, it will be the job of the Phoenix to destroy the Universe in its entirety and to create a new one to begin again, resetting the cycle. Death, renewal, destruction, creation, these are what the Phoenix Force represents. But until the destined end of the Universe, which is very far in the future, you needn't worry about that, I can try to protect the world that birthed me with this power from the threats that loom over her in the future."

"What threats?" Fury asked, taking this information quite seriously considering the rest of the things she had said.

"There are still a few years to wait. You should seriously start considering activating the Avengers after around 2008." Hope insisted to Fury.

"Why are you at this grave in particular?" Nick Fury asked her.

"James Howlett will be a great addition to my team if you know anything about him." Hope insisted to Fury.

"But he's been dead for more then a century." Fury insisted, shocked by what her words seemed to be implying.

"Just watch" Hope smiled and turned towards the gravesite again and slowly old bones started phasing up through the ground and started piecing themselves together into a human skeleton, though the skeleton had extra bones on each of its arms that looked like three bone claws each.

If that wasn't shocking enough, a white fire appeared around the skeleton as organs appeared, then muscle, and within around twenty seconds the long dead man resurrected and sank to one knee, tired and completely naked "

"James Howlett, alias the Wolverine. A lot of time has passed since you died. We'll speak more of it later, but first put these on." Hope passed the bag that she been carrying to Wolverine, which contained a change of clothes for him.

Though weakened and confused, Wolverine started doing as she had instructed, so Hope turned towards Nick Fury and offered a handshake to him "I don't need to deceive you, Director Fury. In terms of power, I am leagues above Carol Danvers, so you can feel assured that I really do want to protect this world."

Nick Fury looked as though he'd been slapped in the face. He had been wondering how this individuals power matched up in comparison to his option of last resort, but after witnessing her resurrect James Howlett like that, he couldn't really doubt her when she said she was much stronger.

1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center, New York

Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters

Charles Xavier, having sensed something powerful approaching, went outside with Erik Lehnsherr to confront the possible threat, but what they saw was 15 year old (seemingly) red-haired girl and a full grown man that she seemed to be carrying with her telekinesis..

The man was relieved to have his feet back on the ground "Humans are not meant to fly." he complained/

"Times have changed a lot, Logan" Hope insisted. With his new resurrection, she had told him that she decided to give him a new name, and selected Logan. He decided to just accept it. On the way here, Hope told him about the modern world and he was shocked by how drastically it had changed.

"Charles Xavier, hello. We meet in person at last." Hope greeted him.

"The telepath...What happened to Miss Monroe?" Charles Xavier asked with concern.

"Storm is fine." Hope insisted "I am forming a team, you see, and so far I have three members in addition to myself. But until I am ready to call them all into action, I am bringing them to places where they can train and live peacefully while it is possible. I would like to leave Logan with you."

------

Nearly twelve months had passed since Nate's arrival in Olympus, and at first Athena was afraid of Nate, though that was no longer the case. As she fought with him lately, he totally overwhelmed her, which differed very much from the past, though it was obvious that he bore her no ill will.

On the contrary, he often gazed at her body, obviously thinking vulgar thoughts, but he was a gentleman and never acted on them. While her body had initially reacted to the unexpected first kiss in a manner she hadn't expected, her logic had won out in the end and she buried those feelings, but the more time she spent with him and trained with him, the more she had grown accustomed to being around him, and the more she wanted to be around him.

Less then a week ago, Athena had made what she assumed was an unreasonable suggestion, thinking that it wouldn't be possible for him to grow this fast. She had said that if he could beat her one hundred battles in a row against her before the one year mark of his arrival in Olympus, that she would give him what he wanted, that she'd give herself to him. She had only given him a weak to achieve this feat, when previously he had been winning one in every three matches or so.

She was sure that he had not been holding back, but from the moment she declared that challenge, his skill jumped significantly, and now she was about to fight their one hundredth duel "How did you get so much stronger in the past week, I must ask." Athena noted to him, wanting to ask him before this final, fateful battle.

"Well, from the beginning I have been training not only in combat, but also my powers. among those being parallel thought and telepathy." Nate answered to Athena "Training in those particular abilities impeded my regular combat quite a bit, though I was fine with it since it helped me to push my training to greater heights. After your amazing offer, I took a break from that training method, which allowed me to suddenly spike in skill level."

"Well, I guess I have no chance in this next duel, so I will keep my word." Athena stated that because her pride wouldn't let her admit that deep down she was glad that she lost. Athena thought that Nate was already amazing, but she knew that he would soar to even greater heights in the future. The little brat that had suddenly stolen her first kiss her endeared himself to her over the past year. As much as she tried to see him as a child in order to keep her heart in check, the truth was that he was a young man who had done the impossible, and conquered her cold emotionless heart.

Okay, technically she had some emotions, but she was mostly about hard logic before him.

Athena took a deep breath and then initiated the duel, and to her surprise, Nate did not dodge at all, nor did he use his power to block. He allowed himself to be hit, to get thrown out of the training ground and out-of-bounds. He deliberately lost the match.

Athena ran over to him, dumbfounded "Are you alright?" she asked with worry.

"I'm fine Athena, but it looks like my loss. That's too bad." Nate insisted nonchalantly.

"W...why did you throw the match?" Athena asked him "I offered my virginity to you. You could have had your way with me and felt no remorse."

"Not enough." Nate insisted and got up and went of to the goddess and hugged her "I want you to fall in love with me. I want you to ask me to make love to you. I want to do it with you because you want to be with me, and not due to some silly wager that you didn't think I could seriously win."

"W...why try so hard to win ninety-nine matches in a row then?" Athena asked, shocked.

"Proving that I could win one-hundred times in a row and choosing not too was a good way to show my sincerity, I believe."

Athena's heart was pounding like mad, her body was reacting again, even more mightily then the time he kissed her out of nowhere "L...lets go home" Athena suggested "Th...there's not much more I can teach you, but we can have one night together now."

Even though he technically threw the match and lost, Athena had to admitted that she wanted to be with him tonight, and her body was filled with desire that she only barely understood. This desire had only grown greater when she heard why he deliberately lost.

"Well, I was going to spend three years training here though, and it's been almost one." Nate pointed out to her.

"From tomorrow onward, Zeus will take over teaching you personally, but you can still come see me whenever you have free time" Athena insisted as they were walking, her hand slowly reaching out and grasping Nate's as they walked side by side.

Zeus had already told her that he'd take over training Nate when there was nothing more that she could teach him, but Athena had not expected that it would happen this soon.
