To be honest, gardening was kinda peaceful. Or that would be the case. if I didn't have a mafia boss yelling at how wrong I'm doing it every five minutes.
Who knew that Crimson had a green thumb. I sure as hell didn't. But I guess even mafia bosses can have a hobby.
"Alright that's enough work for today." Crimson announced to the world. Almost like he owned it. Ignoring the thought I followed Crimson as he entered his home.
"There are a few things you need to know before you start this job. First being you need the proper attire." After Crimson said that he snapped his fingers and then an imp came up to me holding some folded clothes. I gently held them noticing how hefty that thick they were. Before I could ask what was with the clothing Crimson gave me an answer.
"It's a suit layered with Kevlar. It'll make sure you ain't shot to death on your first day. For now though go change in the bathroom over there." He points out the guest bathroom for me.
"After your changed let me know how it fits." He finishes with a Cheshire grin.
Slightly weirded out by the last statement. I move on to the bathroom. The bathroom that is completely covered in black marble, porcelain, and gold. It was overwhelmingly extravagant.
The clothes I had been given were ordinary in comparison. That was okay though. But as soon as I put on the clothes, I noticed there were a few things strange with them.
I could probably push aside the Kevlar as Crimson just being careful. The fact that the suit perfectly fits me though. That forced me to think about when he could have gotten the measurements.
Then it hits me. He got them when I first came here. I was probably out for at least a day. Meaning he already knew I was going to accept his deal from the beginning.
"That cheeky bastard." I mutter to myself. But not overly concerned, just annoyed. I then left the bathroom. Leaving the hat behind. It just didn't go well with the outfit.
Crimson seemed to agree the hat didn't work because he said nothing about it not being on my head. He then waved his hand in the "follow me" gesture. Not having much choice I followed.
"Now that you look the part it's time for you to do your first job. For now though get into the car." As Crimson finished talking a limousine pulled up to the front of the mansion. Crimson entered without hesitation. Seeing that I entered too.
"What're you doin? You sit in the front passenger seat not in the back with me."
Crimson asked sounding and looking annoyed.
I just shrugged and moved myself to the front passenger seat. It takes me a moment to figure out how to sit in the vehicle with a tail, but I managed. Though I do get a scathing look from the shark man who was driving.
Ignoring the look I watch the world outside the window. Next thing I saw was we were off driving through the city. A city that suddenly looked much different than when I last saw it. Instead of the dilapidated buildings and the homeless I saw glittering lights and hookers on every corner.
Not to mention all the different amusement park aspects. There were roller coasters and food stands. And right next to those would be restaurants and brothels next to those. Every kind of recreational activity you could think of was here.
This must be the inner city of the Greed ring. It's surprisingly flourishing in such a horrible place.
More like it's the reason for there being such a horrible place, I realize.
Soon enough we were back in the less desirable parts of Greed. But still on the outskirts of the inner part of Greed.
The building we came up too looked to be a simple strip club. Nothing too out of the ordinary for hell. Then Crimson spoke up from the back.
"This is your stop pup. Your job will to be to prevent anyone from entering the back of the club. Stay there until I come back to pick you up. And if you try to run away and go back on our deal, I Will Know.
Now though, you get out of my car." Not caring to reply, It doesn't take me long before I'm out of the car and on the street. The car soon pulling away. Not looking back I head around the club, not bothering to even enter.
As I'm walking I see nothing but the usual for these parts. A homeless Imp there and a pile of garbage over there. The same almost decrepit walls surround me.
Ignoring my surroundings I soon exit the alley I'm in and head around to the back of the strip club. I see a door to my left and simply stand in front of it.
Not really sure what else to do.
After about ten minutes of nothing I decide to strike up a conversation with the only person around at the moment.
"Leviathan?" I mentally ask in a sing song voice. And to my surprise I get a reply.
"What do you want?" Leviathan asks seeming annoyed and with a tinge of exhaustion.
"Nothing much just to talk."
"About what? Or are you one of the kinds of people that thrive on small talk?" Leviathan talks back sounding somehow more annoyed.
Ignoring his jab at me, I reply.
"Was just wondering why you chose Leviathan as you name? It's a little to grand for my tastes personally." Leviathan then goes quite for a moment. I start to think that I shouldn't have asked when Leviathan speaks up.
"Because of the book."
"How so?" I question.
"The book was written in journal form for most of the history part. So I took his name for myself. You happy?" Leviathan sounded more and more exhausted as he spoke.
"I'm happy. I guess. Still pretty wired though." I say the last part in a slightly joking tone. Though Leviathan doesn't seem to care. I go to ask why he's been silent recently, when he interrupts me.
"Heads up you got a visitor."
