"Alright," Ava said. "It's about dinner time anyway. I can make hamburgers for the three of us."
She had a few buns leftover from last week when she bought microwaveable precooked patties out of laziness. It wouldn't be hard cooking the kind she just bought in a pan. All she had to do was check the middles for rawness when she thought they were done.
Kael and Zeldris hovered over her shoulders like eager little flies and she thought she might suffocate. "Okay, you two need to back up. Take at least four steps away from me."
The elf wilted and the demon looked displeased but they did listen to her. These guys were even more obedient than her pets after her lecture on following the rules of the human world earlier. Did they think her desire for personal space was a rule that would get them arrested if broken?
Ava giggled at the thought. These two could be annoying but they were kind of funny too.
