Four days passed and Ava was still in bed. Not wanting to cause her any more grief, Kael and Zeldris divided up their obligations in a wary alliance.
The elf was in charge of cooking, cleaning, and making sure she had anything she needed. The demon continued job hunting and actually managed to land one after a few phone interviews.
He had changed his glamour to include an appropriate interview outfit he found online when he showed up in person for the final interview. He was hired on the spot, proving Ava's words about call centers correct.
Training began on Monday. Zeldris was quite proud of his accomplishment and made sure to rub it in Kael's face as much as possible.
Ava was awake when he got home from his interview too. She was feeling well enough to sit up and read a book with sunglasses on because the lights in the room were too bright. He wanted to brag to her too.
"I got a job," he said casually. "Just like you told me to."
