He turned his head left and right, trying to figure out where they went. Fortunately, he noticed the commotion not far from his location. 

He believed the sound came from just beyond the tree and the building. Quickly, he ran in that direction, hoping to catch up with them. He knew they could not get far away, especially if they had an unwilling company.

"Damon, wait for us." He could hear his friend behind him. But he had no plan to indulge his request as he quickened his stride.

When he reached the end of the building, he saw the kidnappers dragging Jules with them. They were running on the open lawn toward the awaiting helicopter.

"Hurry!" He could hear the faint man's voice as he forced Jules to move. But he could see how his wife struggled in his arms. She was fighting him off with everything she got.
