Capítulo 3: Chapter 3

Then, there was a deafening silence.

She opened her eyes to a bright light, blinking several times to accustom her eyes to her surrounding. Where was she? She could not remember.

She attempted to sit up, but a throbbing pain in her temples forced her back to bed, her hands holding tightly on her head.

"I should not have drunk that tequila." She muttered under her breath, still feeling the effects of the alcohol in her body, especially in her head.

Then, an image surfaced in her foggy mind. A handsome man in a suit was waiting for her. Damn! How could she be so lucky? She was marrying the man of her dreams.

Suddenly, her body jerked up, remembering it was her wedding day. What was she doing, still lying in bed? She should be getting ready.

"Dale." She said dreamily, feeling positively alive as she anticipated seeing him at the altar.

"No, not Dale." Another voice unexpectedly interrupted her reverie, making her wonder if she was still dreaming.

But the word shock was not enough to describe how she felt when she turned and found a man on her bed.

A stranger was naked beside her, lying on his front. He had no cover on his body, so his back and butt were in her plain view.

"Oh my...!" She could not believe it, turning away. But that did not make things any better as she realized she was naked, too, with the blanket pooling down her waist when she sat up.

She immediately pulled back the blanket to cover her exposed breasts, confused and afraid of what was happening.

She could already see their clothes lying all over the floor. Some were even hanging on the chair, the lamp, and the portrait. How did it get there?

"Who are you?" She finally grabbed the blanket and covered herself tightly while crawling away from him and the bed as fast as possible.

"What have you done to me?" She asked, accusing him of the vile things she could imagine. So far, she could not remember anything.

But sadly, she felt the pain that was tingling between her thighs. Something happened to her last night, but she could not remember.

She started collecting her clothes, picking them up on the floor, and reaching for her bra dangling on the frame hanging on the wall.

She moved quickly, terrified that he would try to stop her. But he hardly moved as he remained lying on the bed.

"Hey, I did nothing that you never like." He mumbled. This time, he moved, shifting on his back and exposing his nakedness in her eyes.

Quickly, she looked away from him again, feeling like her eyes were burning. Or was it from humiliation or mortification?

"Don't be shy now. That is not how I remembered you last night, my kitten. You were as wild as a lioness." He continued with his seductive tone.

Then, slowly, the memories started to flood in. One by one, just like a tidal wave, they rushed forward until it crashed, destroying everything they touched.

She ran to the bathroom, wanting to change, but the sight of dried blood on the covers reminded her of what she just lost.

"Why?" She asked as tears ran down her cheek. Then, when she looked around her, she realized she was not in her room, seeing the shaver, shaving cream, and other masculine toiletries lying on the tiled counter.

He was right about her. He did not do anything she did not like. She came with him willingly to his room.

But why?

She could not remember. Maybe she was too drunk to understand her motives or rationalize her action. But at that moment, some of the memories were still a blur.

"Damn! What did she do?" She could only blame herself. She should not drink too much. She knew she was never good at handling alcohol in her system.

But it was her bachelorette party. She could not say no to her friends. She could not disappoint Kaely, her stepsister and also her bestfriend.

Kaely had worked hard to make her party the best night she would remember forever. But she ruined it because of her stupidity.

"Dale." Then, she remembered her groom. How could she ever face him now, knowing she was a disgrace?

How could she marry him after cheating on him a night before their wedding? How could she even utter the vow she wrote, knowing it had now become a lie?

She buried her face in her palms, allowing her tears to drip down her cheeks, mourning for the love and the future she had lost with the man she loved.

She would never dream of sleeping with another man, not in this lifetime or the next, because she had already promised herself to only one man. But she broke that promise.

Why?

"I don't know." She hated that she could not remember the full details of the event. She could only see bits and pieces, but it was all too confusing.

But she had to abruptly stop her tears when she heard a banging and a voice on the door. "Are you not done yet? I need to use the bathroom." The man behind the door yelled at her.

Damn, she had just realized she had slept with an insensitive prick. How did she end up with a man like him? She still had no idea.

But that was not the time to explore her memories as she leaned on the sink and quickly splashed water on her face.

"Hey, who are you, and what are you doing here?" His voice snapped her back to the present, making her realize she had zoned out as she waited for him.

But his question was like a slap on her face when it finally registered in her brain. He did not remember her.

But she took a deep breath, more determined to make him remember. She would not let this little hurdle stop her from telling him why she dared to see him.

"Jules Morgan." She introduced herself, slightly embarrassed that the man who took her virginity could not even remember who she was, while she could never forget his name or face.

She watched his eyes, hoping for a slight recognition, but nothing showed in his expression. He remained impassive as he stood domineering before her.

Would he remember her now? Or would he turn her away just like that morning, dismissing her like she was nothing?
