100% Thirst For You / Chapter 12: The Cold Embrace

Capítulo 12: The Cold Embrace

The days turned into months, and the pain of their separation lingered like a shadow over both Eva and Elias. Eva struggled with the weight of her own words, the regret gnawing at her heart. She replayed their last encounter over and over in her mind, wishing she could take back everything she had said.

Elias, on the other hand, had learned to harden his heart. The pain of losing Eva had driven him to a place of cold detachment. He had vowed never to let himself be hurt like that again. He buried his emotions deep within, determined to protect himself from the agony of love.

Eva tried to move on with her life, but the emptiness was overwhelming. She threw herself into her work, hoping to distract herself from the constant ache in her heart. But no matter how busy she kept herself, the memories of Elias haunted her. She missed him more than she could bear, and the regret of her harsh words weighed heavily on her soul.

One evening, as Eva walked home from work, she felt a familiar chill run down her spine. She glanced around, her heart pounding with a mix of hope and fear. She had felt this presence before, but it had been so long since she had sensed Elias. Could it be him?

As she turned the corner, she saw him. Elias stood in the shadows, his eyes cold and distant. He looked different, harder, as if the warmth that had once defined him had been extinguished. Eva's heart ached at the sight of him, but she knew she had to try to make things right.

"Elias," she called out, her voice trembling. "Please, can we talk?"

Elias's eyes flickered with recognition, but his expression remained cold. "What is there to talk about, Eva?" he replied, his voice devoid of emotion.

Eva's heart sank at his tone. "I... I wanted to apologize....f..for what I said. I didn't mean it. I was scared, and I hurt you. I'm so sorry."

Elias's gaze hardened, and he took a step closer. "Sorry? Do you think that changes anything? Do you think it erases the pain you caused?" he asked, his voice sharp.

Eva's eyes filled with tears. "I know it doesn't but I need you to know that I regret everything I said. I love you, Elias. I always have."

Elias's expression remained cold, his heart a fortress against her words. "Love? You call this love? You rejected me, called me a monster. You broke me, Eva. And now you expect me to just forgive and forget?"

Eva's tears flowed freely, her heart breaking at his words. "I don't expect anything, Elias. I just want you to know how sorry I am. I never stopped loving you."

Elias's eyes flashed with anger. "Love? You don't know the meaning of the word. You promised me centuries ago that you would come back to me, but this time you even happily threw yourself at Lucian"

Eva's heart shattered at his words, the weight of her regret crushing her. "Elias, please he manipulated me and you know that, please Elias I love you."

Elias's expression remained cold, his heart closed off to her pleas. "It's too late, Eva. You made your choice. Now you have to live with it."

Elias took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing as he looked at her. "Do you remember, clever little bunny, how you always manage to bring this upon yourself? How you begged for my help and then turned away in fear? Do you know how many times you've hurt me in your past lives?"

Eva's eyes widened with shock and guilt. "Elias, I... I didn't mean to. I was scared."

Elias stepped closer, his voice filled with bitter resentment. "Scared? Do you remember when you ran from me in Rome, only to be captured and tortured by my enemies? Or how about the time in Paris when you accused me of being a monster and fled, only to be struck down in the streets?" he hissed. "Every time, Eva. Every single time, you promised me you would return, but you never truly came back. You always turned away in fear, and it hurt more than you can imagine."

Eva's tears fell faster, her heart breaking under the weight of his words. "Elias, I'm so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."

Elias laughed bitterly, the sound harsh and cold. "Sorry? Clever little bunny, your apologies mean nothing now. I've waited centuries for you, only to be met with fear and rejection every time. Do you think that doesn't hurt?"

Eva's voice trembled with emotion. "Elias, please. I love you. I truly do."

Elias's expression softened for a moment, a flicker of the old warmth in his eyes. But it was quickly replaced by cold detachment. "Love? Love means nothing when all it brings is pain. I've suffered enough. I can't keep doing this."

Eva reached out, desperation in her eyes. "Elias, don't leave me. Please."

Elias stepped back, shaking his head. "It's too late, little bunny. I've learned my lesson. I won't let myself be hurt again."

Desperate to bring him back, Eva ran forward and hugged him from behind, her arms wrapping tightly around his waist. "Elias, please. I need you. Don't shut me out," she pleaded, her voice breaking.

Elias froze at her touch, his body tense. For a moment, he felt the warmth of her embrace, the love he had longed for. But the pain of her rejection was too strong. He turned around, his eyes blazing with anger, and bared his fangs, a low growl escaping his lips. "Get away from me, Eva," he snarled, his voice filled with menace.

Eva stumbled back, her heart pounding with fear. "Elias, no. Please," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Elias's eyes were cold and unyielding. "You wanted a monster, bunny? Well here I am," he said, his voice dripping with bitterness.

Eva's tears flowed freely, her heart breaking at the sight of him. "Elias, I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you."

Elias's expression remained cold, his heart closed off to her pleas. "It's too late"

With those final words, Elias turned and walked away, leaving Eva standing alone in the darkness, her heart broken and her soul filled with regret.

Eva watched him go, her tears falling like rain. She knew she had lost him, and the pain of that loss was more than she could bear. She had hurt the man she loved, and now she had to live with the consequences of her actions.

As the days turned into weeks, Eva struggled to find a way to move on. The regret of her words haunted her, and the emptiness in her heart was a constant reminder of what she had lost. She knew she had to find a way to make things right, but she didn't know if she ever could.

Elias, meanwhile, continued to harden his heart. He had learned to be cold, to protect himself from the pain of love. But deep down, the love he felt for Eva still burned, a flicker of warmth in the darkness. He tried to bury it, to forget her, but it was impossible. She was a part of him, no matter how hard he tried.
