Capítulo 12: Chapter 12: Diamond Core Heart (3)

If this was true and Marcus could replicate it, then her Master in combat would be a force unlike anything seen for over 3,000 years.

Eventually, the testing was complete, and Serafall was ready to watch as the large diamond became the core of the barrier system.

It had taken about two weeks of constant testing—at least, that's what the black-haired Satan had counted. She had a feeling that her Master had done even more testing while she wasn't around, as all the remaining diamonds had turned into diamond dust by this point.

The entire summoning room had been transformed into a ritual chamber. Magic circles were drawn on the floor, and Serafall counted at least 14 different runic languages that had been used.

To her knowledge, her Master only knew seven—now he knew 14? What was he even doing at school these days?

"Well, are you ready? This is going to get a little shaky," Marcus said after doing his final check on the ritual.

"How shaky are we talking about?" Serafall asked with a hint of trepidation.

"The kind of shaky where I had to reinforce the entire garage's structural integrity," he replied casually.

"..."

"..."

"Shouldn't we only be doing this kind of experiment after the barriers are in place?" she asked nervously, worried that they would be discovered.

"We're doing this one to pave the way for bigger experiments in the future," he said in a tone that left no room for doubt.

"But with the size of these circles, the magic drain will be felt all over Eastern Europe!" She pointed out, noticing the overlapping circles in the room.

"Drain? What are you talking about? I don't drain anything. I make things… recycling is one of my specialties. I won't be draining anything. I'm using the M.T.M. method; the last experiment with Castor led me to this."

"The gun experiment led you to this? How does that even work?" she asked, utterly confused. How could a gun experiment lead to the creation of a diamond-shaped core?

"The gun was a test for the M.T.M. technique… all I need to power this is a brush of my finger. We're going completely green, Sera. For real."

He demonstrated exactly what he meant, brushing his index finger against a white circle on the wall.

His motion was absorbed by the circle, which then transferred the energy to the largest circle in the room.

What Serafall saw next was likely the most insane thing she had ever witnessed in her life.

The energy from the motion-absorbing circle entered the largest circle and began to surge forward, making a lap around the entire room-sized circle. It grew larger with each lap.

With each lap, the other inner circles came to life, one by one…

This meant that the largest circle generated more energy with every lap, powering each circle in turn.

Before long, the diamond in the center began to absorb the magic…

And then it happened.

The diamond started to float, and with it, the circles began to float as well.

Suddenly, the ground started to shake, the amount of energy being generated was immense, and it continued to grow exponentially!

Serafall counted the number of circles around the generator—at least forty layers, each with multiple circles.

While she wasn't the best at math—unlike her little sister—she knew this was an overwhelming number of circles!

Then, unexpectedly, the circles began to shrink toward the diamond core.

The black-haired devil woman immediately understood what was happening. The core was absorbing all of these circles, transforming into a barrier heart. This would likely be the most powerful barrier core she had ever seen.

And this was just the beginning. Serafall couldn't shake the feeling that there would be even more to come in the future.

A few moments later, the process was complete. The diamond shone brightly, its white light consuming the entire room.

Once the blinding light finally subsided, Serafall opened her eyes and saw the beautiful diamond core releasing whitish particles.

'This is so beautiful! I wonder... could I get these particles for my place? Maybe blue for me? Red for Sir-chan? Green for Ajuka-chan! Hehe...' She giggled inwardly before snapping out of her trance, remembering the potential repercussions of such an item.

As it stood, the Underworld didn't have any pillar house capable of producing such specialized barriers.

Meaning, if this gets out...

Sigh

'What's the point? Everyone will want a piece of him. This just cements it more and more... Serafall, just focus on the fact that you have the best shot of getting him for yourself! ...For the Devil Race, of course.' She blushed slightly as she realized that he was now at her height.

'His growth is so fast!'

"So, how does this work?" Serafall asked as they stood in the new room designed specifically for the core.

It was a floor below the previous one.

With two floors now beneath them, Marcus's garage had finally reached the next stage.

"We're going to mark the areas, as this could theoretically cover the entire globe," he said, looking thoughtful.

"It could?" She squeaked in disbelief, her eyes fixed on the core.

"I said theoretically," Marcus corrected. "The diamond's size is too small for that. At most, it would only cover the whole nation. But I'm going to focus on my town for now."

"Anyways, there are three layers to it. The first is recon, which covers the whole city. The second is in-depth observation, which covers the entire block we're in right now. And the third is core security, which covers my garage. This means no one can just teleport in. You can't even use magic without permission. And most importantly, it will all be connected to the garage's structural integrity."

"Which means it can reinforce the walls, power the tech inside, and it will last as long as the diamond does," he continued.

"And how many years would that be?" she asked, trying to recall how long diamonds last.

"If exposed to the elements, diamonds would last 3 to 4 billion years, but since it's fully encased and the case itself is powered by the same magic, it should last practically forever. The core can just endure that long," Marcus explained, describing the loop of his barrier core.

"But... the diamond is only... Wait!!! Those circles! They send specific magic to keep the garage in pristine condition!" she exclaimed, suddenly realizing the full scope of it. She turned her gaze to the diamond, noticing the cables attached to the core.

"All of that from a single brush of my finger... beautiful, isn't it?" he said, gazing at the diamond core in the middle of the room. Even with the casing, the white particles continued to appear. It showed just how much power the core was generating. Unlike his previous attempt, which had almost killed him, this time he had put safeguards in place. No more careless mistakes. Best of all, no computers were needed for any of it—he'd done it all with a regular calculator.

"Yes... it's quite terrifying..." Serafall muttered, still staring in disbelief at the core.

"Now that this is done, time for the hardest part," Marcus said with a resigned sigh.

"The hardest part? There's more!?" Serafall snapped out of her reverie, staring at him in shock.

"Yeah. We're going to place boundary markings around the city... Do you know what that means?" he asked seriously.

"We... are going to leave the garage?" she tried to understand what he meant.

"Exactly! But this is a must. So, we're going to have to leave my garage..."

"You don't want to go outside?" Serafall asked, baffled.

"I don't want to go unless it's absolutely necessary. I find it a waste of time unless I'm doing field research," he explained. While he wasn't a hikikomori, he didn't like wasting time on pointless outings.

He had seen most of the world and had several of his garages scattered across the globe.

"Then think of this as a field expedition. Sometimes, leaving your garage is good for you. You never know—you might get a spark of inspiration," she said with a smile.
