With the boost from Helping Hand, the power of Ember was significantly enhanced.

The Charmeleon already had a clear strength advantage over the Spearow flock, making it difficult for them to withstand its attacks. With the move now powered up, each burst of flame struck true, sending another Spearow tumbling to the ground.

Eevee wasn't idle either. It unleashed a flurry of Swift attacks, aiming with precision. While its efforts couldn't match the sheer impact of the Charmeleon, Eevee's contributions were still impressive.

Under the combined might of Charmeleon and Eevee, the Spearow had no chance to approach Tyson. One by one, they fell, until the majority were defeated. When more than half of their companions lay unconscious, the remaining Spearow lost their ferocity and retreated, their courage shattered.

Another Ember and Swift struck the dispersing flock, sealing their defeat.

Watching the Spearow flee in disarray, Tyson signaled for Charmeleon and Eevee to halt their pursuit. The terrain of the forest and their inability to fly made chasing the escaping Pokémon both impractical and risky.

"Well done! You've earned this."

Tyson smiled as he pulled out energy cubes tailored to the preferences of both Charmeleon and Eevee. He fed them as a reward, his affection evident.

Both Pokémon food and energy cubes were essential for strengthening Pokémon, and the ones Tyson used were top-tier for their stage of development. This was thanks to the resources provided by Shadow.

Tyson then retrieved several Poké Balls from his bag, capturing the fainted Spearow. Once the process was complete, he set up a device to transmit the newly captured Pokémon to Shadow. This was the standard procedure: Shadow would process the Pokémon, convert them into contribution points, and credit Tyson's account. The same process had been followed for the Pokémon Tyson caught during his earlier trial.

Initially, Tyson had assumed that Shadow might keep a portion of the contribution points as payment, considering it a favor to Shadow. However, Shadow had dismissed the notion outright, stating bluntly that such trivial points held no value to him.

What could Tyson do but endure this underhanded remark? He could only wait until he captured rare and valuable Pokémon to prove his worth.

"Let's move forward. There are plenty of battles ahead, so stay ready."

Tyson patted the heads of his Charmeleon and Eevee, his affection for them unmistakable.

The Charmeleon's eyes sparkled with excitement. As a Fire-type Pokémon, or perhaps due to Tyson's nurturing, it loved battles—especially challenging ones.

In contrast, Eevee preferred snuggling into Tyson's arms, seeking comfort like a spoiled child. Chuckling, Tyson obliged, cradling Eevee while signaling for Charmeleon to take the lead.

The journey through the forest was treacherous, far more dangerous than when Ash traveled in his time. Wild Pokémon were just one of the threats—there were also unsavory humans lurking in the shadows.

During Ash's travels, organizations like Team Rocket and Pokémon hunters were kept in check by the Alliance's strict measures. But now, danger seemed to lurk at every turn.

As they delved deeper into the forest, Charmeleon's enthusiasm waned. The Pokémon encountered near the outskirts of the forest were weak—barely worthy of the term "qualified." They offered no challenge to Charmeleon's abilities.

"Don't worry, Charmeleon," Tyson reassured it, patting its shoulder. "Stronger opponents await us deeper in. Think of this as a warm-up."

Trusting Tyson, Charmeleon's determination reignited, the flame on its tail flaring with vigor.

To expedite their search for stronger opponents, Tyson quickened his pace.

In the wild, stronger Pokémon typically claimed territories closer to the heart of the forest, where the environment was richer and more favorable. As Tyson ventured further in, weaker Pokémon became scarce, replaced by more formidable ones.

After two consecutive victories over outstanding-level Pokémon, Charmeleon's energy didn't wane—it grew. Each victory seemed to fuel its desire for tougher battles.

"It seems we've found a real challenge at last," Tyson murmured, eyes locking on a Scyther standing in a clearing ahead. "Perfect for your last battle before lunch."

The Scyther sensed Charmeleon's hostility and immediately launched an attack. Its blades glinted in the sunlight as it charged with Quick Attack, preparing to follow up with a series of Fury Cutter strikes.

"Charmeleon, track its movements! Use Ember to interrupt, then follow up with Flamethrower!"

Balls of fire shot out, forcing Scyther to slow its charge. The brief pause was all Charmeleon needed. A blazing column of fire surged forward, striking Scyther square in the chest.

Thanks to Charmeleon's advanced training, the move executed with exceptional speed, leaving Scyther little time to counter.

"Keep up the pressure with Flamethrower! Don't give it a chance to recover!"

Although Charmeleon was skilled in close combat, Tyson knew better than to risk it against Scyther's deadly blades.

Scyther, already weakened from the initial strike, stood no chance against the relentless flames. It staggered and fell, unable to continue.

Tyson threw a Poké Ball, capturing the defeated Scyther with ease.

"Who's there?"

Tyson's sharp eyes darted toward the bushes nearby, his voice stern.

"Wait, don't attack!"

A young man stepped out cautiously, holding a Beedrill at his side. "My name's Albin. I'm a trainer, and I've been training in this area."

Albin's nervous demeanor suggested he feared Tyson's potential hostility.

"I wasn't spying, I swear!" Albin explained hastily. "I've been trying to catch that Scyther for ages. I've battled it so many times, but I never stood a chance."

He glanced at the Poké Ball in Tyson's hand, admiration and envy shining in his eyes. "I can't believe you defeated it so easily."

Tyson simply nodded, pocketing the Poké Ball without another word. He turned and began walking away, indifferent to Albin's visible disappointment.

Watching Tyson's retreating figure, Albin's mind raced. He recalled the struggles he'd endured to capture his first Pokémon, the sacrifices he made to grow stronger, and the countless battles he fought with Scyther—all in vain.

A sudden glint of determination flashed in Albin's eyes.
