Kai Thornwood woke to the sound of rain pattering against the windowpane. His head throbbed, his vision swimming. He knew something was off before he even opened his eyes. The bed beneath him was too hard, the air smelled too clean, and—hold up. Why could he smell so much? The realization hit him like a freight train. Forks. Twilight. He knew this house from the books and movies. The cluttered living room. The fishing trophies. The sound of Charlie's cruiser pulling up outside.
"What the bloody hell…"
Kai stumbled to the mirror hanging on the wall and froze. Gone was his lanky, British self. In his place was a broad-shouldered, athletic young man with piercing green eyes and a wild mop of dark hair. He looked older—stronger.
And then it hit him.
"Oi, no way," he muttered, clutching his head. "I'm Kai Thornwood. Bella's bloody brother?"
The front door opened, and Kai spun around as Charlie Swan stepped inside, dripping from the rain. He tossed his hat on the rack and glanced at Kai.
"You alright, son? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Kai blinked, scrambling for an answer. "Yeah, Dad. Just… uh, headache. I'll be fine."
Charlie gave him a gruff nod before disappearing into the kitchen. Kai's heart pounded. This wasn't just a dream. He'd been reborn here. And judging by the timeline, Bella wasn't here yet.
That gave him time to figure things out.
And figure it out he did. Over the next few weeks, Kai discovered his new abilities. Enhanced strength, speed, senses—and a primal power that bubbled just beneath his skin. He had dreams of red eyes, howls in the night, and a fiery glow in his chest.
One night, while exploring the woods, the truth revealed itself. He shifted. His body contorted, his muscles expanded, and fur sprouted across his skin. But it wasn't just any werewolf form. This was pure power—an alpha's form.

"Bloody hell," Kai muttered, flexing his claws as he admired his reflection in a nearby stream. "Looks like I'm the big dog now."
