Chapter 8.
"1600 fear points!" After dealing with the creepy old man, Lester was eager to check his panel.
When he realized he could draw again, a big smile spread across his face. He had initially thought about escaping to explore the wonders of magic, but with those fear points rolling in, staying here for a year didn't sound so bad after all!
"System, I want to draw!" Ignoring the terrified crowd and the bleeding old man, Lester called on the system to make his draw. His first draw gifted him a top-notch invisibility skill, and the second gave him a super potent Viagra. Both seemed pretty cool to Lester, even if he wasn't quite sure what to do with the Viagra just yet. But from the description, it sounded impressive!
[Ding! Congratulations to the host for acquiring the skill 'Wall Passing Technique']
[Wall Passing Technique: Allows the caster to pass through any wall without obstruction; the world is vast and unimpeded.]
"Wall Passing Technique?" Lester's eyes sparkled as he looked at the shiny new skill on his panel.
This was exactly what he needed! He was stuck in a cell in Azkaban, and if he wanted to make the most of his situation, he could only work with the six inmates in his cell.
While the fear points were coming in nicely, Lester knew he couldn't rely on just these six for long. From his buddy Lackie, he learned that new criminals only came in on Wednesdays. So, until next Wednesday, it was just these six prisoners.
Clearly, six prisoners weren't going to cut it! It was only the first day, and he had already taken one out. If he kept this up, he'd need more than just these six! But with the Wall Passing Technique, he could sneak into other cells! That meant all the prisoners in Azkaban could be his little sheep!
"Speak louder, I can't hear you!" In his excitement, Lester playfully slapped a murderer in the face to express his joy, telling him to speak up. After all, these guys were scum; he might as well have a little fun! It was just a way to vent the frustrations of all the souls he had dealt with!
The murderer, feeling a bit wronged, was used to being feared outside. But looking at the bleeding old man on the ground, he quickly surrendered and raised his voice to read the Analects louder.
"We're bastards for getting in the Azkaban; we should definitely change ourselves."
The sound of their reading echoed through the lifeless prison. Suddenly, sharp curses came from the next cell.
"Hey, you guys next door, can you keep it down?"
"Yeah, seriously! Did your mothers die? why are you crying out your eyes over there?"
"You're in Azkaban now, still thinking about turning over a new leaf? Can you just be quiet for once?"
Clearly, the inmates next door were not happy with the six prisoners reciting the Analects. These weren't exactly the best people, and hearing such positive vibes from next door was too much for them to handle.
And if they wanted to recite, fine, but could they space it out a bit? They'd been at it since yesterday; wasn't that a bit excessive? They might not need sleep, but the others sure did!
Listening to the occasional shouts from next door, the other inmates felt like they were being roasted alive, wishing they could just disappear.
Little did they know, while they were struggling, those shouts were even more distressed!
Since Lester became the leader of the cell, these six prisoners had been following him in reading the strange words.
At first, Lester could lead them, but after a few rounds, they were left to read on their own.
They had just heard those words, so how could they repeat them properly? Anyone who misread would get a jab from Lester. If they were at Hogwarts, they might get a minor punishment from the professors, but Lester was serious about his jabs!
Didn't that dim-witted old Quentin have enough bruises already?
These six prisoners hadn't closed their eyes for a whole day!
Hearing the insults from next door, Lester's expression soured.
The six prisoners, who had been watching Lester closely, were scared out of their wits.
They silently prayed for the prisoners next door.
They knew Lester had the ability to become invisible and avoid the Dementor's gaze, and for him, escaping a cell was a piece of cake.
"Everyone, stop!" Lester said firmly, halting the loud recitation.
With the reading stopped, the insults from the next cell gradually faded.
Once Azkaban fell silent again, Lester turned around and coldly asked the prisoners in the next cell, "What did you just say?"
Lester felt really frustrated; he was trying to help the other prisoners reform, yet instead of understanding, he had to put up with their insults. It just didn't seem fair.
"Ha!"
Hearing Lester's youthful voice mixed with a hint of innocence, the prisoners in the next cell burst into laughter.
Sure, this little brat seemed to have some skills, having taken control of all the prisoners in his cell on his first day at Azkaban, but so what? Could he pass through the heavy iron door to confront them?
Feeling emboldened, the prisoners became even more reckless, hurling insults at Lester through the wall.
All their frustrations came pouring out, and a stream of foul language followed.
Listening to the insults from next door, Lester's face darkened, and he gradually disappeared from the cell.
"Ultimate Invisibility Spell, activate!"
In the cell, seeing Lester vanish before their eyes, the remaining six prisoners knew that someone was likely to meet a grim fate today!
Given Lester's short temper, even a slight provocation could lead to trouble, and now that the people in the next cell were insulting him, it was likely they wouldn't survive the day.
