Mystic Code Deployment: Bonus Chapters ✨

Originally, the signed photos were something she and Sumida Mana had planned to give him personally once his work was done as a token of their appreciation.
When she saw him talking to their manager earlier about the photos, she hadn't thought anything of it, since that was simply part of the scheduled process.
So, they had taken out the prepared photos and signed them on the spot.
But after they finished signing, Kamigawa didn't seem to remember to come back for the photos at all, as if he'd completely forgotten there were signed pictures waiting for him.
It was something a true fan would hardly ever forget.
Before the slightly naïve Sumida Mana could realize the inconsistency and piece together that Kamigawa wasn't actually a fan, Uika took the signed photos herself and approached him.
"These are our signed photos, part of the agreed compensation." Uika explained, answering the look of confusion on his face.
[Explain why you forgot about the signed photos]
[Admit you're not a fan of sumimi]
An interface suddenly popped up in front of Kamigawa, offering him two options.
The first seemed like the safer route.
He already had a quick excuse ready to go—something like, "My apologies, I had to run off for an urgent matter and another project, so I absentmindedly forgot."
It sounded plausible enough, but could he really play it off?
If she wasn't the type to easily miss the details, she might already suspect he wasn't truly a fan based on his behavior.
In essence, these two options came down to either denying or admitting the truth.
Since he intended to befriend Misumi Uika in the future, Kamigawa made his choice after a bit of deliberation.
"Sorry… I wasn't actually telling the truth before—I'm not really one of your fans."
At this point, it seemed better to be honest rather than keep up the charade. Maybe it would even redeem him a bit in her eyes.
[Charm +2]
"…"
Uika was taken aback.
She had been fully prepared for him to brush it off with an excuse she would politely accept, but he'd taken a totally different approach.
After all, she hadn't even directly asked him if he was actually a fan of the group.
"It's fine."
Recovering from her surprise, Uika waved it off.
Since becoming an idol, she'd heard that kind of empty flattery often enough.
Even she herself had said similar things to others at times.
So, she didn't hold it against him.
In fact, she respected his honesty—people who admitted the truth like that were rare.
"Thank you."
Kamigawa accepted this with a small sigh of resignation.
He'd been hoping to leave her with a reasonably good impression, but forgetting about the signed photos had ruined it all.
Such an oversight!
Uika didn't dwell on the subject and smoothly changed topics, "By the way, I wanted to ask—did you recognize me today, or did you know it was me back at the planetarium?"
"I recognized you back at the planetarium."
After all, her face was hard to miss.
"Thank you."
Uika had suspected as much, but now she was certain.
To clarify, she added, "Thank you for keeping it to yourself back then."
If he had revealed her identity in that moment, she'd have been mobbed by fans and passersby.
That would have made things a lot more complicated.
"No need to thank me."
Kamigawa replied with a smile.
It was good to know his decision had paid off.
At least, it had salvaged some of his standing with her.
Since the ad shoot was about to start and there were many staff members around, they kept the conversation short before Uika returned to Sumida Mana's side.
Kamigawa, holding the signed photos, left the room.
As planned, once the photos were done, he no longer had a reason to stay.
While there had been a minor mishap, he figured it hadn't damaged his reputation with her too badly overall.
All thanks to his careful actions back then!

By the afternoon, Kamigawa was lounging on the sofa in the waiting room, chatting idly with Nyamu.
They'd finished nearly everything they needed to film, except for the final wrap-up.
But since the last of the staff were still busy with sumimi's shoot, they had some downtime to kill.
As they were enjoying their conversation, a knock suddenly came at the door.
Kamigawa paused the chat and glanced toward the entrance. "Come in."
"That must be them letting us know it's time for the final shoot," Nyamu guessed, standing with her phone in hand.
"I'd assume so too."
Kamigawa nodded, moving over to check his remaining equipment for the last shots.
Sure enough, the staff member who had previously escorted him arrived, this time holding an elegant gift box.
"Sorry, I'm actually not here to call you for the next shoot. Miss Uika asked me to deliver something to you, Kamigawa-san."
Seeing the pair's response, the staff member quickly apologized and handed him the box.
Kamigawa looked puzzled. "For me?"
"Yes."
The staff member nodded, looking certain.
"Oh, thanks for bringing it over."
Not knowing what it was about, Kamigawa took the box with a polite nod.
Next to him, Nyamu sat there in stunned silence, processing the scene.
Miss Uika?
If her memory served, one of the members of sumimi was named Uika.
Meaning he knew Uika personally, and they had a pretty good relationship.
Otherwise, why else would she have a staff member deliver something to him?
What could this mean?
Could they be a couple?
From the moment she first met Kamigawa, Nyamu had thought he looked like a celebrity, and now it seemed like he and Uika really were a perfect match!
Realizing this possibility sparked a deep curiosity within her.
If they were really dating, she'd just stumbled upon a massive scoop!
After announcing that the final shoot would begin shortly, the staff member left.
Once the door clicked shut, Kamigawa sat back down and began to open the box Uika had sent.
Nyamu quietly returned to her seat nearby, making a point of keeping silent and lowering her presence as much as possible.
And for the record, she told herself she wasn't snooping.
She'd been sitting here before anyway, so she was just continuing her break.
