The Shinigami gathered around the central plaza were utterly stunned, staring at Yoruichi Shihōin as if their entire worldview had been shattered.
Even the six captains present at the scene rose from their seats with expressions of disbelief, immediately grasping the gravity of the situation.
A captain-level Shinigami had transformed into a Hollow.
This was an unprecedented event in the history of the Gotei 13, and the fact that Yoruichi was the head of the prestigious Shihōin Clan, one of the Four Great Noble Houses, only made the matter even more alarming.
Among them, Kensei Muguruma, who was closest to Yoruichi, cautiously approached her while keeping his guard up. "Captain Yoruichi, can you hear me?"
His voice seemed to catch the attention of Yoruichi, who crouched on all fours like a wildcat—or a wild beast. Her golden eyes slowly shifted towards him.
Muguruma exhaled slightly in relief.
Yoruichi could still respond to speech. This indicated that she might retain her consciousness and awareness.
If communication was still possible, it wouldn't take long to figure out the cause of this bizarre transformation!
However, in the very next moment—
"Look out, Captain Muguruma!"
A sharp warning echoed in Muguruma's ears just as his sight was abruptly filled with a blur, Yoruichi vanishing from view. Instead, a sharp pain erupted from his back.

A claw, encased in a white, bone-like shell and shaped like that of a cat, pierced straight through Kensei's back and emerged from his chest.
"S-So… fast… I was… taken out instantly…"
This thought barely flickered through Muguruma's mind before his powerful frame collapsed forward, lifeless.
"Captain Muguruma! Damn it, does this mean Captain Shihōin has completely lost her mind?!"
"Lisa, something's wrong here. Prepare Tenteikura! We need reinforcements-"
"Don't hesitate! Everyone attack together! We need to subdue Captain Shihōin immediately!"
"Be careful! In this state, her speed is far greater than before!"
"All Shinigami below captain rank, retreat now! This is not a battle you can join!"
Amidst the chaotic shouts of the other captains, the rest of the Shinigami—who had been enjoying a rare moment of peace—finally snapped out of their daze. Panic spread, and they scattered in all directions.
The remaining captains, except for Shinji Hirako, quickly drew their Zanpakutō. Rose Otoribashi, Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi, and Shunsui Kyōraku advanced together to surround Yoruichi, aiming to swiftly incapacitate her.
Yet at that moment, Yoruichi seemed like a startled wildcat, reacting instinctively to the clamor around her. A white blur streaked through the plaza, plunging into the crowd.
"Ah!"
"Captain, save us!"
"Quickly, stop the bleeding! Fourth Division!"
In the blink of an eye, the once orderly plaza became a blood-soaked battlefield wherever Yoruichi passed.
Ordinary Shinigami, seated officers, even Vice-Captains were all torn apart as though they were made of paper.
Despite their best efforts, the captains couldn't keep up with her blinding speed.
As the scene grew increasingly chaotic, blood painting the air, Shinji Hirako, who had been silently observing with a sharp gaze, finally made his move.
His eyes narrowed as he glanced at Aizen with barely concealed hostility.
"Aizen, you'd better hope I don't find out you're behind this. If I do, not even crawling back into your mother's womb will save you from me."
Aizen tilted his head slightly, his expression calm yet tinged with confusion. "Captain Hirako, what are you implying? Surely finding a way to resolve this crisis should be our top priority?"
Hirako scoffed, though doubt flickered across his face. Perhaps he was wrong to suspect Aizen. After all, Aizen had been under his watchful eye lately, without any opportunity to orchestrate such an event.
Still, his instincts told him that this dangerous man was somehow involved.
Shaking off his thoughts, Shinji unsheathed his Zanpakutō.
"Collapse, Sakanade!"
In an instant, Shinji's sword transformed, its hilt hollowed into a ring shape with five small holes along the blade, giving it an eccentric appearance.
Shunsui, still struggling with Yoruichi's overwhelming speed, called out urgently. "Quick! We need to restrict her movements!"
"Stop rushing me! Our real headache is figuring out why Captain Shihōin turned into this in the first place…" Hirako replied lazily, though his tone brimmed with confidence as he approached Yoruichi.
Suddenly, Yoruichi halted. Her movements, once fluid and instinctive, became jerky and disoriented, as if she couldn't decide which limb to move next.
"My apologies, Captain Shihōin," Shinji said, casually spinning his Zanpakutō's ringed hilt. "My Sakanade flips your perception. Up becomes down, left becomes right, forward becomes backward. Even the direction of incoming attacks is inverted…"
"If you were still sane, you might manage to adapt. But in this state, I doubt you even know which leg to move first."
Shinji's confidence grew as the other captains moved in, encircling Yoruichi.
"Now, all we need is a binding spell to temporarily seal her—"
His words faltered as a chilling realization struck. He spun around, just in time to see a fist hurtling towards him.
Bam!
The punch landed squarely on Shinji's jaw, twisting his face grotesquely as his body was launched straight towards Yoruichi.
