Makoto didn't elaborate further—explaining would likely make things more complicated.
What was he supposed to say to Byakuya anyway?
That he was too intimidated by Unohana to even dare to ask permission to excuse himself because he also need to go to Feng family estate?
Did Makoto intend to throw his dignity away in front of Byakuya?

Yoruichi appointed her as a personal bodyguard, offering close mentorship.
Under Yoruichi's patronage, the Feng family's status gradually rose. To further solidify their bond with the Shihoin family, Soi Fon's grandmother, the current head of the Feng family, decided to hold a ceremony passing down the title of clan head.
At this ceremony, Soi Fon—still very young—would officially take on the mantle of leadership, inheriting the title "Sui-Feng" and dedicating herself entirely to the Shihoin family, just as her predecessors had.
The event, with Yoruichi and Kisuke both announcing their attendance, became the most grandiose in the Feng family's history. Many officers from the Second Division, members of the Onmitsukido, and nobles allied with the Shihoin family came to give their respects, granting the Feng family unprecedented prestige.
Although the vice-captain position of the Second Division traditionally went to the Omaeda family, it was clear that Soi Fon would soon rise to prominence within the division and the Omnitsukido.
Despite the lively atmosphere, the absence of two critical figures—Shihoin Yoruichi and Urahara Kisuke—caught everyone's attention.

Her fingernails dug into her palms as she cast a hopeful gaze into the distance—toward the Second Division barracks, and also toward the Fourth Division plaza...

Back at the Fourth Division plaza, even with Unohana temporarily absent, the celebratory atmosphere remained undiminished.
The lives of Shinigami were long, and the solitude of Seireitei monotonous. As such, Unohana's birthday banquet became a rare grand event.
Thanks to Makoto's efforts in organizing the celebration, alongside refined activities to suit Unohana's elegance, he also recreated lively games inspired by his memories of his previous world. The plaza had become a sea of joy, drawing even captains with lively personalities to participate.
Watching his captain, Shinji Hirako, laugh and play "musical chairs" with several charming young ladies, Aizen adjusted his glasses. Beneath the reflective lenses, his eyes gleamed with disdain and amusement as he murmured to himself:
"The real event is only about to begin, Captain Hirako..."
As his words faded, a figure descended with a thunderous crash at the plaza's center, stirring a massive cloud of dust.
A terrifying, chaotic spiritual pressure erupted, engulfing the entire plaza and shaking Seireitei to its core.
"What's happening?!"
"Such overwhelming spiritual pressure!"
"This chaotic aura... Is it a Hollow?!"
"Impossible! The Soul Society's protective barrier hasn't reacted. How could a Hollow infiltrate this deeply?"
"Hah! Even if it is a Hollow, it's laughable. There are six captains here. Not even a Vasto Lorde would last a second!"
As the dust cleared, a slim figure emerged, its appearance silencing the crowd.
Golden eyes gleamed menacingly. Its feline posture, tail, bone-like mask covering most of its face, and a tattered Second Division captain's haori struck terror into all who looked upon it.
It was none other than the captain of the Second Division and Commander-in-Chief of the Omnitsukido—Shihoin Yoruichi.
