In an instant, the Adjuchas was cleaved in two, its disbelieving wail echoing briefly before it disintegrated into spirit particles and vanished.
Throughout the entire exchange, Gin Ichimaru stood unmoving, directly facing Aizen's blade. His expression remained utterly unchanged, devoid of any trace of fear or surprise.
"Aren't you afraid? That was an Adjuchas, a creature that shouldn't exist here…" Aizen's calm voice carried a subtle undertone of inquiry.
In that brief moment, Gin had already pieced together the threads of his thoughts based on what he knew.
Aizen knew about Gin's relationship with Rangiku Matsumoto. This likely meant that Aizen had deduced Gin had witnessed the moment he had stolen Rangiku's soul portion.
If that were the case, then Aizen's appearance here might very well be to eliminate him as a potential threat.
To survive and accomplish his goals, there was only one way forward...
In a flash, Gin dismissed the notion he'd once entertained: becoming a Shinigami to assassinate Aizen directly.
To defeat Aizen, he would need to earn his trust, uncover his secrets, and strike like a venomous serpent delivering a fatal bite.
"This is the power I long for, the strength I seek, Lord Aizen."
Gin slightly opened his eyes, his gaze reflecting a fervent intensity as he spoke. "Lord Aizen, please allow me to follow at your side."
"Oh?"
Aizen's tone betrayed no discernible emotion. Seemingly satisfied, he sheathed his zanpakutō and, without a hint of caution, turned his back to Gin, walking away unhurriedly.
"If that is your wish, then prove your worth as one who follows me…"
"Yes, Lord Aizen."

Meanwhile, within the Fourth Division's quarters, Makoto retracted the spiritual bindings he had been controlling and gently released Shinro Bansho from its Shikai state.
Exhaling deeply, he muttered with a stoic expression, "Kyōka Suigetsu… we're under its influence."
Yes, Makoto was certain. Both he and Gin had already fallen under the effect of Aizen's zanpakutō, Kyōka Suigetsu, and its ability, Complete Hypnosis.
The Adjuchas… was a fake.
Its appearance, posture, spiritual pressure, even its agonized cries—every detail was flawless. Yet, as someone capable of discerning spiritual particles on a microscopic level, Makoto had noticed the inconsistencies when the creature disintegrated.
When had they been caught in Kyōka Suigetsu's hypnosis?
From the beginning to the end, Aizen had never overtly activated its Shikai.
The only possibility was the calm, deliberate motion of Aizen drawing his blade. Could that have been the true moment of activation?
Makoto's eyes flickered as he arrived at this conclusion.
In his past life's memories, Aizen had once explained, "Anyone who has seen the release of Kyōka Suigetsu is subject to its Complete Hypnosis."
Aizen had also repeatedly emphasized in the original timeline that Ichigo Kurosaki was the only top-tier combatant in Soul Society unaffected by Kyōka Suigetsu, making him an indispensable force against Aizen.
However, this was merely Aizen's own narrative. Other than the method of breaking Complete Hypnosis, which Gin had confirmed at the cost of his life, there was no concrete evidence to support the rest of Aizen's claims.
Given Aizen's cunningness, Makoto was highly skeptical. He suspected Ichigo had also been under Kyōka Suigetsu's influence all along, but everyone had been misled into thinking otherwise—and Aizen had simply chosen not to use its abilities on him.
Instead of unwittingly falling deeper into Kyōka Suigetsu's Complete Hypnosis, losing all control, Makoto had intentionally exposed himself to its power during Aizen's encounter with Gin.
Now, by using the method Urozakuro had repeatedly verified to counter Kyōka Suigetsu, Makoto could reclaim the upper hand once the hypnosis was broken.
Still, something else weighed on his mind—Aizen's deliberate mention of him during the exchange with Gin.
'What is that man planning?'
'Gin, grow stronger. Infiltrate Aizen's inner circle. Once I've broken free of Kyōka Suigetsu's power, I'll have a reliable presence at Aizen's side…'
'Rather than relying on the unstable element that is Urozakuro for intelligence.'

Makoto's thoughts were interrupted by a sudden knock at the restroom door, accompanied by hurried voices.
"Doctor Senju, are you all right in there?"
"You've been in there so long! Did something happen to you?"
"Doctor Senju, if you're in there, please say something…"
"That's right, Doctor Senju! If you don't respond, we're coming in!"
Before Makoto could react, the door swung open. He found himself face-to-face with several noblewomen, each radiating elegance and individuality. Instinctively, he leaned back in tactical retreat.
"What is wrong with these women?" he muttered under his breath.
No, wait. If they truly had something wrong with them, that would actually be easier to deal with—he could treat them. What worried him was the possibility that they were simply here to stir up trouble.
Still, as a doctor, he was bound by the principle of patience and compassion. Driving them all away in one fell swoop might mean ignoring someone who genuinely needed help, which was unacceptable.
Taking a deep breath, Makoto forced a polite smile and said apologetically, "I'm sorry for worrying you all…"
Before they could respond, he slipped away to his office. There, he was greeted by the sight of a noblewoman lounging on the examination table, her extravagant attire disheveled in a way that was both chaotic and suggestive.
This was the Quincy with the Schrift "G." Her gaze held a faint trace of reproach as she looked at him.
"Doctor Senju, am I truly so lacking in charm?"
With a slight tilt of her head, she traced her fingers along her thigh, up her waist, and to her face in a graceful motion, her tone filled with self-pity.
"Or… have I grown old?"
Makoto's clear, gentle gaze never wavered under her scrutiny. Smiling kindly, he scratched his head in apparent confusion and replied, "Madam, what do you mean? I'm not sure if I understand."
