Sakura gritted her teeth as she watched Orochimaru swim toward her along the length of the Ruyi Jingu Bang(Golden-hooped staff).
"Come!"
The Yin Seal on her forehead began to glow, illuminating her surroundings.
Pfft!
A scorching gush of blood sprayed into the air!
"What's wrong?"
"Weren't you so full of yourself just now?"
The gleaming Kusanagi Sword pierced straight through Sakura's chest, its cold light cutting into her very core.
"Sakura!"
Enma, transformed into the Ruyi Jingu Bang, trembled with shock and fear, his voice echoing with panic.
"It seems, little junior sister, that your strength is only so much."
Orochimaru's golden serpent-like eyes glimmered with malice as he looked upon the girl with pink hair impaled on his blade.
Her cherry blossom-pink locks were stained crimson with her own blood, giving her hair a tragic hue.
The girl raised her head slowly, her emerald eyes fierce and unyielding beneath the shadow of her pink fringe.
Black patterns spread from the violet rhombus seal on her forehead, snaking down her cheeks.
They crept across her neck, arms, body, and legs, covering her in a web of dark lines.
Yin Seal: Strength of a Hundred Technique!
"You want to measure my worth?"
"Bring Hashirama Senju himself!"
In that moment, Orochimaru felt a chill run down his spine as an overwhelming sense of danger washed over him.
Trusting his years of battle experience, he acted swiftly, making the best possible choice.
The Kusanagi Sword extended instantly, launching Sakura hundreds of meters into the air.
Her blood scattered like rain, spattering onto Orochimaru's face.
And yet, despite her injuries, her grip on the Ruyi Jingu Bang remained ironclad. Using this opportunity, Enma dragged Orochimaru into the sky.
"So you think you can survive?"
"I'll send you straight to the Sage of Six Paths with a single punch!"
With a roar of fury, Sakura unleashed visible chakra flames from her fists. Ignoring the blade impaling her, she delivered a devastating punch to Orochimaru's chest.
Orochimaru's eyes nearly rolled back from the impact, and he plummeted to the ground like a meteor.
The earth shattered within a radius of dozens of meters under the force of his crash!
Sakura yanked the Kusanagi Sword from her chest, fresh blood spurting out like a fountain.
But as the sword left her body, the near-fatal wound on her chest began to heal rapidly. Wiping the fresh blood from her lips, Sakura dove toward Orochimaru, her hands weaving seals at lightning speed.
"Summoning Jutsu: Katsuyu!"
Boom!
A massive plume of white smoke erupted midair, revealing the colossal blue-and-white slug Katsuyu.
"Eh? Sakura, what's—"
Katsuyu blinked in confusion at the blood-soaked Sakura standing on her head.
"Katsuyu-sama!" Sakura shouted. "Orochimaru is right below you—crush him!"
Without hesitation, Katsuyu obeyed, closing her eyes and dropping like a boulder from hundreds of meters in the air.
Boom!
The fifty-meter-tall slug hit the ground with a thunderous impact, transforming into a sea of tiny slugs that spread out in all directions.
Sakura followed, descending with the Ruyi Jingu Bang in hand. She gazed down at Orochimaru, who had narrowly avoided the attack by using Earth Release to burrow underground.
Emerging from the ground, Orochimaru looked disheveled, his golden eyes flickering with frustration and caution.
"Is that all you've got, Orochimaru? One of the Legendary Sannin reduced to this?" Sakura taunted, her fierce gaze full of defiance.
Orochimaru clutched his chest, sensing his dwindling chakra reserves. He had already consumed a considerable amount using his substitution technique earlier.
And the pink-haired girl before him, who seemed impossible to kill, had even summoned Katsuyu to the battle.
At this point, Orochimaru no longer wanted to continue. His goal was merely to mark Uchiha Sasuke with the Heaven Curse Mark during the Chunin Exams' second stage and assess the strength of the Third Hokage's student.
But this pink-haired girl was far tougher than he'd anticipated.
Impaled, bleeding everywhere, yet still able to land a punch strong enough to cripple him—and then recover as if nothing had happened.
"Heh, the old man chose well," Orochimaru sneered, his voice laced with mockery. "Until next time, my dear junior."
Just as Orochimaru prepared to use Earth Release to escape, Sakura threw the Ruyi Jingu Bang with all her might, transforming it into a golden cage to trap him.
Ninja Art: Adamantine Prison Wall!
But Orochimaru, ever the escape artist, dissolved into a puddle of muck, slipping through the gaps in the cage.
"This level of Earth Release…"
Sakura's expression hardened, frustration bubbling in her chest.
That damned snake has maxed out his escape skills!
"Sakura, are you alright?" a tiny Katsuyu asked, perching on Sakura's shoulder.
"I'm fine, Katsuyu-sama."
Sakura shook her head, planting the Ruyi Jingu Bang into the ground. The staff transformed back into the towering figure of Enma.
"You've done well, Sakura," Enma said, his tone comforting as he looked at the blood-soaked girl. "After all, your opponent is a renowned shinobi with nearly thirty years of experience."
"I must trouble you to report this to the old man," Sakura said, her tone weary. "If Orochimaru came here, he must have a reason. Tell the Hokage to prepare."
Enma nodded solemnly. "Understood. Call on me if you need anything." With a final glance at Sakura, he vanished in a puff of smoke.
Strength doesn't lie solely in power, Enma thought as he departed. True strength lies in unshakable resolve.
"Sakura, do you need healing?" Katsuyu's smaller clones gathered around her, concern evident in their voices.
Sakura touched her chest, finding the wound nearly healed. "No need. But Katsuyu-sama, could you help me find some people?"
"Of course! Who are we looking for?"
"A blond, a redhead, and a raven-haired one," Sakura said, her lips curving into a faint smile. "The one with black hair has a fan symbol on his back. Hard to miss."
As she spoke, two figures approached rapidly from the distance: Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy.
A sudden silence fell over Sakura. She remembered her earlier instruction to Anko: Have Kakashi and Guy wait at the forest's edge for her signal flare.
In the heat of battle, she had completely forgotten to fire it.
