Capítulo 10: Chapter 10

Power Plays and Missteps

Jack sat in his villa's expansive living room, the dim blue glow of holographic displays lighting up his face. Nam, his AI assistant, hovered in the air as a sleek orb of light, her voice calm yet analytical.

"Jack, the materials you requested are ready for purchase," Nam said. "They've been sourced through legitimate suppliers to avoid suspicion."

"Good," Jack replied. "Place the orders. Use the dummy accounts tied to my new identity."

"Understood," Nam said. "However, purchasing this much high-grade titanium and other rare elements will likely draw some attention."

"Let them watch," Jack said, his lips curving into a smirk. "By the time they figure out what I'm doing, it won't matter."

---

The Reactor Plan

Jack's idea was simple: he needed a way to harness solar energy on a massive scale. The Kryptonian Doomsday blood flowing through his veins was potent, but its growth potential was tied to solar energy, which his newly awakened divinity had started amplifying. A regular tanning session under Earth's sun wasn't going to cut it. He needed something more... extreme.

The plan? Build a miniature sun reactor—a self-sustaining source of energy that mimicked the nuclear fusion process of stars. It would allow Jack to bathe in its energy, pushing his abilities to new heights and furthering his connection to the divine power he now held.

A Visit to the Black Market

Nam materialized beside Jack as he sat planning his next steps.

"Jack, I've found several black market dealers who trade in vibranium," Nam said. "The most credible source appears to be Ulysses Klaue."

"Klaue," Jack said, leaning back in his chair. "The man who stole vibranium from Wakanda. That'll save me the trouble of hunting it down myself."

"However, I must warn you, the black market is volatile," Nam added. "There's a high probability of conflict."

"Conflict isn't a problem," Jack said, standing. "It's just another opportunity to test my strength."

---

Black Market Chaos

Dressed in a black hoodie, jeans, and a featureless black mask that covered the lower half of his face, Jack made his way into the underground black market. The location was tucked away in the basement of an abandoned warehouse, dimly lit with hanging lights and filled with shadowy figures murmuring in hushed tones.

Jack moved through the crowd with quiet confidence, eventually finding Klaue at a makeshift stall laden with rare artifacts and metals. The man's gold tooth gleamed as he grinned, his thick South African accent cutting through the noise.

"Ah, a new face," Klaue said, sizing Jack up. "You must be the one looking for vibranium."

Jack nodded. "How much?"

Klaue chuckled. "Straight to business, eh? I like that. The price is steep, though."

"I have the money," Jack said coolly, transferring the payment to a dummy account linked to Klaue's. Klaue checked his device and smirked.

"Pleasure doing business," Klaue said, handing over a small, heavy case. "But be careful, kid. Vibranium attracts attention."

---

Trouble Finds Jack

As Jack turned to leave, the faint click of a safety being disengaged reached his ears. His enhanced senses picked up several men surrounding the area, armed with automatic weapons. Klaue seemed to notice, too, raising his hands in mock surrender.

"Don't look at me, mate," Klaue said with a laugh. "It's your problem now."

The men moved closer, their leader barking out, "Hand over the case, and maybe we let you walk out of here."

Jack sighed, setting the case down gently. "You picked the wrong person to rob."

Before they could react, Jack moved. In a blur of speed, he disarmed the first man, crushing the gun in his grip before throwing him into a stack of crates. The others opened fire, but Jack darted through the hail of bullets with ease, his body absorbing the few that managed to hit.

In less than a minute, the warehouse was a chaotic mess. Jack tossed one of the men through a wooden table, dodged another's knife swipe, and sent him flying with a powerful kick. Klaue watched the scene unfold with wide eyes.

"Bloody hell, you're a one-man army," Klaue muttered.

As the dust settled, Jack retrieved the vibranium case and glanced back at Klaue. "Stay out of trouble."

Without another word, he disappeared into the shadows.

Building the Reactor

Back at his villa, Jack unloaded the materials he had purchased. The vibranium would serve as the reactor's core, stabilizing the immense energy output. Under Nam's guidance, he worked tirelessly, assembling the intricate components piece by piece.

The reactor's design was sleek and futuristic, a spherical device glowing with a soft golden light. Once activated, it would generate a constant stream of energy, providing Jack with the raw power he needed.

As Jack stood back to admire his work, Nam spoke. "The reactor is ready. Shall I activate it?"

"Do it," Jack said, stepping into the chamber built around the reactor. As the device hummed to life, a surge of energy filled the room, bathing Jack in its warmth. He closed his eyes, feeling the power coursing through him, his Kryptonian DNA and divinity both reacting to the intense energy.

School Days and Spider Bites

The next day, Jack returned to school, slipping back into his role as Jack Reaves. He spent the day chatting with Gwen, their bond growing stronger with each passing moment. They shared laughs over cafeteria food and swapped stories about their interests.

Meanwhile, Jack kept a close eye on Peter Parker. The boy seemed... different. Jack noticed Peter rubbing the back of his hand, where a faint red mark was visible. The bite has happened, Jack thought. It won't be long now.

---

The Lizard's Rise

As days turned into weeks, the city began buzzing with reports of strange sightings—large reptilian creatures lurking in the shadows. Jack followed the news closely, piecing together the events leading to Dr. Curt Connors' transformation into the Lizard.

Peter Parker, now Spider-Man, had taken to the streets, his makeshift suit and newfound powers allowing him to confront the growing threat. Jack watched from the sidelines, impressed by Peter's courage but noting the boy's lack of experience.

S.H.I.E.L.D's Curiosity

Back at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters, Fury stood before a large screen displaying a series of reports. The purchase of massive amounts of rare materials had caught their attention, and analysts were working around the clock to trace the source.

"This doesn't add up," Maria Hill said, scrolling through the data. "Whoever this is, they're careful. No loose ends, no trail."

Fury frowned. "Nobody's that careful. Keep digging. I want to know who they are and what they're planning."

---

Jack's Reflections

That night, Jack stood on the balcony of his villa, gazing out at the city. Nam's voice broke the silence.

"Jack, S.H.I.E.L.D has flagged your material purchases. They're investigating."

"Let them," Jack said, his tone calm. "It's only a matter of time before they come knocking. When they do, I'll be ready."

As the stars twinkled above, Jack felt the growing power within him. The reactor had accelerated his growth, his divinity deepening its connection to the sun. He was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.
