Betrayed by blood~

Cain stood by the fire, his shirt discarded somewhere in the room, the flames casting a shadow on his chiseled chest. His mind was occupied with thoughts, ones he could never get rid of no matter how hard he tried. The heat felt suffocating rather than soothing.

He shut his eyes, exhaling slowly, but then her scent hit him.

Cain stood with his back turned to her; he didn't need to look to know she was there, he could feel her presence.

Her fingers trailed along his shoulder as she stepped closer. It wasn't the first time, yet the sensation didn't sit right tonight. When her hand reached his chest, he grabbed her wrist sharply, spinning her to face him.

"Hi," she said sultrily. Her lips molded in shiny lip gloss. Cain's eyes flicked over her, taking in the revealing black lingerie that left little to the imagination. It clung to her curves. His gaze lingered, but for some reason, it didn't ignite the usual heat.
